MCPD Arrest Report 05/03/2017

Chief James F. Blair reports that over the last 24-hour reporting period the Morgan City Police Department responded to 53 calls for service. The following persons were arrested as a result during the last reporting period beginning on 05/02/2017:

Curtis A. Richard, 40 years of age, address: Glenwood St. Morgan City, La, arrested on 05/02/2017 @ 9:55 a.m.

Charges: Warrant: F.T.A. for Revocation on 04/12/2017

Curtis A. Richard was located and arrested in the area of Marguerite St. on active arrest warrants held by the 16th Judicial Court. Richard was transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

Robert J. Gussman Jr., 44 years of age, address: Bush St. Morgan City, La, arrested on 05/02/2017 @ 12:51 p.m.

Charges: Warrant: F.T.A. to Pay Fine on 01/17/2017
                  Warrant: F.T.A. to Pay Fine on 12/09/2017

Robert J. Gussman Jr. was located and arrested at the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center on active arrest warrants held by the 6th Ward Morgan City Court. Gussman Jr. was transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

Brandon Poole, 30 years of age, address: Garber St. Morgan City, La, arrested on 05/02/2017 @ 1:15 p.m.

Charges: Resisting an Officer

Officers came in contact with Brandon Poole while conducting patrols in the area of Garber St. According to reports Poole was acting in a suspicious nature and made gestures that he had a firearm. While officers were conducting their investigation during the encounter Poole began to pull away and resist. Poole was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

Rebecca Martin, 45 years of age, address: Terrebonne St. Morgan City, La, arrested on 05/02/2017 @ 1:48 p.m.

Charges: Warrant: F.T.A. for Arraignment on 01/27/2016

Rebecca Martin was located and arrested in the area of Clothilde St. on active arrest warrants held by the 32nd Judicial Court in Terrebonne Parish. Martin was transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

Christian A. Brown, 39 years of age, address: Mark St. Pierre Part, La, arrested on 05/02/2017 @ 3:00 p.m.

Charges: Warrant: F.T.A. for Arraignment on 02/24/2015

Christian A. Brown was located and arrested at the Morgan City Police Department on active arrest warrants held by the 6th Ward Morgan City Court. Brown was booked into the Morgan City Jail and incarcerated.

Sidney Wainwright, 21 years of age, address: New Horizons, New Iberia, La, arrested on 05/02/2017 3:25 p.m.

Charges: Warrant: Illegal Possession of a Stolen Firearm

Sidney Wainwright was located and arrested at the Morgan City Police Department on active arrest warrants held by the Berwick Police Department. Wainwright was booked into the Morgan City Jail and incarcerated.

Kyler A. Ross, 30 years of age, address: Broken Arrow Rd., New Iberia, La, arrested on 05/02/2017 @ 6:57 p.m.

Charges: Warrant: F.T.A. for Arraignment on 01/10/2017

Kyler A. Ross was located and arrested in the area of Garber St. on active arrest warrants held by the 6th Ward Morgan City Court. Ross was transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

Eddie B. Norman, 38 years of age, address: Railroad Ave. Morgan City, La, arrested on 05/02/2017 @ 9:36 a.m.

Charges: Possession of Methamphetamine W/I/T/D
                  Distribution of Methamphetamine
                  Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
                  Violation of Uniform CDS Law (Drug Free Zone)

Investigators with the Morgan City Police Department Narcotics Division while patrolling the area of Federal Ave. observed a male subject conduct a hand to hand transaction with a subject in a vehicle. According to reports that subject then left the area in a vehicle and a stop was initiated. The subject that was observed by investigators was identified as Eddie B. Norman. Norman was found to be in possession of suspected methamphetamine. During the investigation evidence was uncovered the suspected methamphetamine was intended for sale and Norman allegedly admitted to selling suspected methamphetamine to the subject that investigators first observed. The investigation led to a residence on Railroad Ave. and items of drug paraphernalia were located. The area where this incident had taken place was within a Drug Free Zone. Norman was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.
