MCPD Arrest Report 07/27/2017

Chief James F. Blair reports that over the last 24-hour reporting period the Morgan City Police Department responded to 42 calls for service. The following persons were arrested as a result beginning on 07/26/2017:

Tonya Conner 07262017
Tonya J. Conner, 35 years of age, address: Derrick St. Pierre Part, La., arrested on 07/26/2017 @ 9:35 p.m.

Charges: Warrant: Theft of a Motor Vehicle

Tonya Conner was located and arrested at the Morgan City Police Department on an active warrant for her arrest through the Morgan City Police. The warrant stems from an investigation conducted by patrol officers on July 24th in regards to a Theft of a Motor Vehicle. According to reports, Conner and the victim were negotiating the sale of the vehicle at a local notary service. The victim stated that the vehicle would not be sold until payment was made. Conner allegedly refused to make the payment when the victim stated that they wanted possession of the vehicle. Conner allegedly refused and drove away from the business in the vehicle. The vehicle was located by the Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office and warrants were prepared for Conner’s arrest. Conner was booked into the Morgan City Jail and incarcerated.

June F. Hedges, 49 years of age, address: South Bay Rd. Pierre Part, La., arrested on 07/26/2017 @ 6:20 p.m.

Charges: Warrant: Disturbing the Peace

June F. Hedges was located and arrested at the Morgan City Police Department on an active arrest warrant held by the Morgan City Police. The warrant stems from an investigation conducted by patrol officers in regards to a disturbance that occurred at the Morgan City Recreation Complex. According to reports, Hedges was involved in a verbal altercation with the victim at the public venue. Warrants were prepared for Hedges’ arrest. Hedges was booked into the Morgan City Jail and incarcerated.

Noel Naverro 07262017

Noel Naverro, 32 years of age, address: Scott Ln. Houma, La., arrested on 07/26/2017 @ 10:35 p.m.

Charges: Possession of Marijuana W/I/T/D
                 Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
                 Transaction involving Proceeds from Drug Activity
                 Warrant: Resisting an Officer by False Information
                 Warrant: F.T.A. to Pay Fine on 06/28/2011

Jennifer Watts 07262017

Jennifer Watts, 42 years of age, address: N. Bayou Black Dr. Gibson, La., arrested on 07/26/2017 @ 10:40 p.m.

Charges: Possession of Marijuana W/I/T/D
                 Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
                 Transaction involving Proceeds from Drug Activity

Patrol officers responded to a business in the area of LA 182 in regards to a narcotics complaint. According to reports, prior to officers arriving in the area information was developed that the suspects had left the area in a vehicle. A description of this vehicle was obtained which was located a short time later in the area. A stop was initiated and Noel Naverro and Jennifer Watts were identified as passengers in the vehicle. Reports indicate that officers detected an odor of marijuana emitting from the vehicle. It was learned that Naverro held active warrants for his arrest through the Morgan City Police and 6th Ward Morgan City Court. During the investigation, Watts was found to be in possession of several bags of suspected marijuana, drug paraphernalia,  and US Currency. Naverro allegedly admitted that the suspected marijuana was for him and that it was destined to be sold. Officers also believed that the US Currency located was derived from the illicit sales of illegal narcotics. The warrant for Naverro’s arrest stems from an investigation conducted by patrol officers on February 28th when Naverro provided a false name to officers. Warrants were prepared for Naverro’s arrest after he was identified. Naverro and Watts were arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where they were booked and incarcerated.

Craig Hebert, 39 years of age, address: Poplar St. Morgan City, La., arrested on 07/27/2017 @ 2:13 p.m.

Charges: Driving while Intoxicated 1st Offense
                 Careless Operation of a Motor Vehicle

Patrol officers observed a vehicle being operated in the area of LA 182 in a careless manner. A stop was initiated and Craig Hebert was identified as the operator of the vehicle. According to reports, Hebert was found to be in an intoxicated state. Standardized Field Sobriety was refused by Hebert at which time he was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail for Chemical Test. Hebert also refused the Chemical Test. Hebert was booked into the Morgan City Jail and incarcerated.
