MCPD Arrest Report 08/25/2017
Chief James F. Blair reports that over the last 24-hour reporting period the Morgan City Police Department responded to 41 calls for service. The following persons were arrested as a result beginning on 08/24/2017:
Shekera M. Sylvester, 37 years of age, address: Short St. Morgan City, La., arrested on 08/24/2017 @ 9:55 a.m.
Charges: Warrant: Principal to Theft
Warrant: Simple Battery
Shekera Sylvester was located and arrested in the area of Short St. on active arrest warrants held by the Morgan City Police. The first warrant stems from an investigation conducted by Detectives on 08/10/2017 in regards to the theft of merchandise valued at over $13,000 from a local business in the Morgan City Area. Sylvester was developed as a suspect and evidence was discovered linking her to the crime. Warrants were prepared for her arrest. The second warrant stems from an investigation conducted by patrol officers on April 15, 2017, where the victim alleged they were struck by Sylvester at a local bar. Warrants were prepared for Sylvester’s arrest on that incident. Sylvester was transported to the Morgan City Jail where she was booked and incarcerated.
Burkin J. Dupre, 31 years of age, address: Cross Rd. #2 Morgan City, La., arrested on 08/24/2017 @ 2:50 p.m.
Charges: Warrant: F.T.A. for Arraignment on 08/22/2017
Warrant: Probation Violation
Burkin J. Dupre was located and arrested at the Morgan City Police Department on active arrest warrants held by the 6th Ward Morgan City Court. Dupre was booked into the Morgan City Jail and incarcerated.
Carol L. Clark, 24 years of age, address: Oregon St. Berwick, La., arrested on 08/24/2017 @ 4:00 p.m.
Charges: Warrant: Simple Battery
Warrant: Criminal Trespassing

Terrence L. Johnson, 34 years of age, address: Terrebonne St. Morgan City, La., arrested on 08/24/2017 @ 4:00 p.m.

Driving under Suspension
Patrol officers responded to the area of Third St. in regards to a disturbance. According to reports, officers arrived and they observed vehicles in the middle of the roadway obstructing the flow of traffic and subjects that were involved in a disturbance. Carol L. Clark and Terrence L. Johnson were identified as the subjects involved in the disturbance. Johnson’s Louisiana Driver’s License was found to be under suspension. It was also learned that Clark held active arrest warrants through the Morgan City Police. The warrants stem from an investigation conducted by patrol officers on April 27, 2011, when the victim alleged that Clark entered their property and committed a battery. Warrants were prepared for Clark’s arrest. Clark and Johnson were arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where they were booked and incarcerated.

Charges: Monetary Instrument Abuse
Patrol officers responded to the area of LA 182 in regards to a subject who was attempting to pass counterfeit U.S. Currency. According to reports, officers arrived and Cesar Reyes-Padilla was developed as the suspect attempting to pass the bill. Reports indicate that evidence was uncovered that Reyes-Padilla knew the bill was counterfeit. Reyes-Padilla was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

Angela Rhodes was located and arrested at the Morgan City Police Department on active arrest warrants held by the 6th Ward Morgan City Court. Rhodes was booked into the Morgan City Jail and incarcerated.

Gustavo Angel Calderon-Aguilera, 25 years of age, address: Not Listed, arrested on 08/24/2017 @ 11:13 p.m.
Charges: Possession of SCH II CDS (Cocaine)
Patrol officers initiated a stop on a vehicle in the area of LA 182 that was being operated in an erratic manner. According to reports, Gustavo Angel Calderon-Aguilera was identified as an occupant in that vehicle. Reports indicate that Calderon-Aguilera was found to be in possession of suspected Cocaine. Calderon-Aguilera was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.
