MCPD Arrest Report 09/26/2017

Chief James F. Blair reports that over the last 24-hour reporting period the Morgan City Police Department responded to 40 calls for service. The following persons were arrested as a result beginning on 09/25/2017:

Jonathan Borne 09252017

Jonathan M. Borne, 35 years of age, address: Borne Ln., Centerville, La., arrested on 09/25/2017 @ 9:23 a.m.

Charges: Warrant: Theft of a Motor Vehicle

Jonathan M. Borne was located and arrested at the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center on an active arrest warrant held by the Morgan City Police. The warrant stems from an investigation conducted by patrol officers on August 10, 2017, in regards to the theft of a motor vehicle in the area of LA 70. According to reports, Jonathan M. Borne was identified as a suspect. Borne was located in the vehicle a short time later by the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Department and arrested for possession of the stolen vehicle. Warrants were prepared for Borne’s arrest in regard to the investigation. Borne was transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

Kristie Bourg 09252017

Kristie L. Bourg, 40 years of age, address: Bankers Ct. Pierre Part, La., arrested on 09/25/2017 @ 2:02 p.m.

Charges: Theft by Shoplifting

Patrol officers responded to a local business in the area of LA 182 in regards to a shoplifter. According to reports, Kristie L. Bourg was developed as a suspect and allegedly had taken merchandise valued @ $69.66 without paying for it. Bourg was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where she was booked and incarcerated.

Brent Meads, 27 years of age, address: Louise St. Thibodeaux, La., arrested on 09/25/2017 @ 9:55 p.m.

Charges: Possession of Marijuana
                 Driving under Suspension
                 Improper Turning

Investigators with the Morgan City Police Department Narcotics Division observed a vehicle being operated in the area of Railroad Ave. negotiate an improper turn. A stop was initiated and Brent Meads was identified as the operator of the vehicle. Investigators detected an odor of marijuana emitting from the vehicle. The Morgan City Police Department K-9 Division arrived on scene at which time K-9 Lady showed odor response to the presence of narcotic odor. Suspected marijuana was located during the search of the vehicle. It was also learned that Meads’ Louisiana Driver’s License was under suspension. Meads was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

Craig Washington, 33 years of age, address: Hwy 749 Opelousas, La., arrested on 09/26/2017 @ 1:12 a.m.

Charges: Disturbing the Peace

Patrol officers responded to the area of Willard St. in regards to a disturbance. According to reports, officers arrived and Craig Washington was identified one of the subjects involved. Washington allegedly went to the residence of the victim and began banging on the door using profanity. Washington was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

Bobbie Vanbrocklin, 48 years of age, address: Evergreen St. Morgan City, La., arrested on 09/26/2017 @ 3:25 a.m.

Charges: Driving while Intoxicated 1st Offense
                 Improper Turning

Patrol officers observed a vehicle being operated in the area of LA 182 negotiate and improper turn. A stop was initiated and Bobbie Vanbrocklin was identified as the operator of the vehicle. Vanbrocklin was found to be in an intoxicated state. Vanbrocklin performed poorly on Standardized Field Sobriety Test. Vanbrocklin was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail for Chemical Testing. Upon arrival to the Morgan City Jail Vanbrocklin refused the chemical test. Vanbrocklin was booked into the Morgan City Jail and incarcerated.
