Chief James F. Blair reports that over the last 24-hour period the Morgan City Police Department responded to 44-calls of service. The following person(s) were arrested as the result beginning on 9/23/2020
Harpreet Singh, 40 years of age, Address-Victor II Blvd., Morgan City, LA., was arrested on 9/23/2020 at 2:40 P.M.

Warrants:
Failure to Appear (10 Counts)

An officer located Harpreet Singh at an address on Highway 182 and placed him under arrest on active warrants held by the City Court of Morgan City. He was transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.
Tyler Jermaine Sylvester
Tyler Jermaine Sylvester, 21 years of age, Address-Versa St., Morgan City, LA., was arrested on 9/23/2020 at 5:00 P.M.

Violation of a Protective Order
Attempted Burglary of an Inhabited Dwelling
Criminal Damage to Property
Criminal Trespassing

Tyler J. Sylvester was located at the Berwick Police Department and placed under arrest on an active warrant held by the Morgan City Police Department. He was transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.

Javien Jawan Francis, 23 years of age, Address-Oregon St., Morgan City, LA., was arrested on 9/22/2020 at 10:48 P.M.

Possession of Marijuana (1st Offense)
Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
Resisting an Officer

Warrant:
Failure to Appear

Officers were called to an address on Brashear Ave about illegal narcotics activity. Upon officer's arrival, they came into contact with Javien J Francis. During the officer's investigation, Francis was found in possession of suspected methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. During the arrest, Francis pulled away from the arresting officer. He was handcuffed and placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department.

Illegal Possession of a Firearm by a convicted Felon

Officers were called to the area of Laurel St. and Levee Rd. for a suspensions individual in the area. Upon the officer's arrival, they came into contact with Harrison B. Knox. He was found in possession of a firearm. A computer check revealed he was a convicted felon. He was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.

Shina Short, 37 years of age, Address-North Bayou Black Drive, Gibson, LA., was arrested on 9/22/2020 at 2:02 A.M.

Resisting an Officer-False Information
Possession of Methamphetamine
Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

Warrant:
Failure to Appear (2 counts)

A patrol officer conducted a traffic stop in the area of Highway 182 and U.S. 90 During the traffic stop, officers came into contact with one of the passengers, Shina Short. Short initially gave a false name to officers. A warrant check revealed the City Court of Morgan City held active warrants for her arrest. During her arrest, she was found in possession of suspected methamphetamine and drug Paraphernalia. She was transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.
