An officer responded to the area of Sixth Street near Arenz Street in regard to a reported disturbance. The officer arrived when Purcell A Gros was identified as being involved in the alleged disturbance. During an investigation, reports indicated that Gros was suspected to have been drinking and was believed to be intoxicated. Gros failed to adhere to the officer's warning and continued shouting and cursing. Gros was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

Wrong Way on One Way Roadway
A patrolling officer observed a vehicle make an improper turn at the intersection of Fifth Street and Greenwood Street. The vehicle was then observed traveling the wrong way on Michigan Street a designated on way road. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver of the vehicle identified as Albert G Soto Jr.. During a traffic investigation, reports indicated that Soto's behavior aroused the officer's suspicions that Soto may be involved in illegal drug activity. A search of the vehicle was conducted when the officer located suspected methamphetamine which was believed to intended for distribution along with suspected drug paraphernalia. The location of the incident was within the location of a drug free zone in violation of uniformed controlled dangerous substance laws. Soto Jr. was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

Morgan City Police Department Narcotics Detectives executed a search warrant at a residence on Seventh Street. Upon entering the residence investigators located Norma Ramirez-Calzada who was believed to residence at the residence. A serach of the residence was conducted when investigators located suspected methamphetamine which was believed to be packaged for distribution, marijuana and legend drugs montelikast sodium, levofloxacin and acetaminophen butalbital along with drug paraphernalia. The location of the incident was within the area of a drig free zone in violation of unifomred contolled dangerous substance laws. Ramirez-Calzada was placed under arrerst and transported to the Morgan City Jail where she was booked and incarcerated.
Angel A Hawkins, 19 years of age, Address: Arizona St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 01//21/2017 @ 11:49pm. Charge: Aggravated Battery
Tiryce Oliney 20 years of age, Address: Terrebonne St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 01/21/2017 @ 11:49pm. Charge: Simple Battery
Officers responded to an address on Barrow Street in regard to a reported disturbance. The officers arrived and located several subjects in the area two of which being identified as Angel A Hawkins and Tiryce Oliney. During an investigation, reports indicated that officers were told that Hawkins and Oliney were involved in a disturbance with several subjects. During the disturbance Oliney was accused of committing a battery on a subject while Hawkins was accused of spraying pepper spray on another subject. Evidence of the alleged batteries was uncovered by the officer. Both Hawkins and Oliney were placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Jail where they were booked and incarcerated.

A patrolling officer observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed fail to stop at the stop sign at Railroad Avenue. A vehicle stop was conducted when the driver of the vehicle later identified as Vernon J Robinson Jr. fled the area on foot. A foot chase then ensued when Robinson was apprehended by officers moments later. During an investigation, reports indicated that it was learned that Robinson Jr. had a suspended drivers license and also had an active arrest warrant through the 16th Judicial District Courts. A search of the vehicle was conducted when officers located suspected cocaine which was believed to be packaged for distribution along with U.S. currency which was believed to be derived from the sales of illegal drugs. The location of the incident was within the area of a drug free zone in violation of uniformed controlled dangerous substance laws. Robinson Jr. was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked an incarcerated.

Officers responded to a residence on South Railroad Avenue in regard to a disturbance. The officers arrived when they located a subject identified as Johathan C Murray who according to reports committed a battery on an individual while in the presence of the officers. Reports indicated that Murray had been removed from the residence earlier that day due to a previous disturbance and was told not to return. During the investigation, Murray assaulted to other individuals at the residence according to reports. It was also learned that Murray had an active arrest warrant through the 6th Ward Morgan City Court. Murray was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.
