     Officers responded to a complaint of a subject striking another student at the Morgan City High School.  Officers arrived and were provided video evidence indicating that a student, James Naverre had struck a female student several times in the face.  He was detained by school staff.  Naverre was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated.

     Officers received a complaint of a subject, John Jones who was in violation of a protective order issued by the court.  Officers arrived in the area and located Jones in the area.  According to witnesses, Jones had went to a Cypress St. address after being prohibited by the order.  John Jones was located and placed under arrest for violation of the protective order.  He was transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated.

Charge: Criminal Damage to Property

     Officers were dispatched to a Headland St. residence to stand by while the complainant removed items from the residence.  When officers arrived to assist, they were advised that the resident, Brandon Mccledon had removed the complainant items from the residence.  The complainant's items had been removed from the residence and abandoned on the side of the road causing damage and some of the items to be removed.  Mr. Mccledon was arrested for damaging the property of another at the request of the complainant and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated with a bond of $492.00.

     Shelia Mouton was arrested on outstanding warrants after officers were dispatched to the Oak St.area regarding a disturbance.  Mouton was found to be wanted on the outstanding warrants and palced under arrest.  She was transported to the Morgan City Police Department where she was booked and incarcerated.

     A patrolling officer during patrols located a suspicious vehicle in the area of Front St. and Freret St. and stopped to investigate.  An occupant of the vehicle, Arik Louviere was found to be wanted on outstanding warrants and was placed under arrest.  He was transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated.

     Officers encounted a large disturbance at a Highway 182 motel and proceeded to locate several subjects involved in a verbal altercation in the parking lot.  The sugjects, Kathy Schuab, Tieyon Martinez, and Sharon Jones were instructed by officers to refrain from causing the disturbance by yelling profanities and threats.  The disturbance was being viewed by others including children in the area.  When the subjects refused to comply, they were arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where they were booked and incarcerated.

     Officers investigating a disturbance on Egle St. encountered Samantha Williams who was identified as the subject causing the disturbance in front of the residence. Officer also learned of an outstanding warrant for the St. Mary Parish and attempted to place Williams under arrest.  Williams reportedly resisted officers attempts and struck an officer in an effort to resist arrest.  She was arrested and transported ot the Morgan City Police Department where she was booked and incarcerated.

     A patrolling officer observed a vehicle with improper lighting on Sixth St. and stopped the vehicle to speak with the driver, The driver, Jerri Champine, according to reports appeared extremely nervous when speaking with the officer.  During the stop, Champine was found to be in possession of a Schedule I CDs-Marijuana located inside a cigarette pack and was placed under arrest.  She was transported to the Morgan City Police Department where she was booked and incarcerated.

     Officer were disptched to a Highway 182 convenience store regarding a disturbance.  Officers located a female subject, Nancy Sandoval who was impaired and reportedly causing the disturbance was given several opportunities to leave the premises but refused.  She was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where she was booked and incarcerated.

     A patrolling officer observed a subject, Cheyenne Percle operating a vehicle in the area of Grizzaffi St. with a suspended drivers license and stopped the subject to investigate.  Percle was also found to be wanted on outstanding warrants.  During the stop, Percle was found to be in possession of items of drug paraphernalia which were also seized.  Cheyenne Percle Jr. was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated.

     Officers were dispatched to a Levee Rd. residence regarding the use of synthetic marijuana.  Officers arrived and learned during the investigation that a male subject, Demetrus Owens and a male  Angel Brouillet were alleged to have encouraged a 14 year old female juvenile to consume synthetic marijuana which they reportedly supplied to the juvenile.  Both subjects were located and based on statements provided, were arrested and charged with contributing to the deliquency of that juvenile and abuse ot toxic vapors.  Both Demetrus Owens and Angel Brouillet were transported to the Morgan City Police Department where they were booked and incarcerated.

Officers were dispatched to a Front St. residence regarding a domestic disturbance.  Officers arrived to investigate and encounted Amanda Bordelon who, according to reports, was screaming profanities and hollering in front of the residence causing others to investigate.  The officers encouraged Bordelon to cease, however she continued her actions and was placed under arrest.  She was transported to the Morgan City Police Department where she was booked and released after posting a cash bond. 

 

 

Joseph M. Andrews, 34 years of age, Address-Roderick St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 09/07/2014 @ 2:29pm

Charge: Driving While Intoxicated (2nd Offense); Operating a Vehicle with a Suspended Drivers License

     A patrolling officer observed a vehicle being driven by Joseph Andrews in the area of Roderick St. Andrews was known by the officer to be operating a vehicle with a suspended drivers license.  As officers attempted to stop Andrews, he pulled into a residence and quickly exited the vehicle.  Andrews was detained and, according to reports, found to be in an impaired condition.  Andrews admitted to officers that he was aware that he was operating a vehicle with a suspended drivers license and was attempting to evade the officer.  Andrews was provided a field sobriety test in which he did poorly on.  He was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he submitted to an Intoxilyzer 5000 test which indicated a blood alcohol concentration of .97g%.  He was booked and incarcerated.

     Officers were dispatched to a disturbance in the area of Third St. and Railroad Ave. and arrived to investigate.  Witnesses advised that a male subject was observed screaming profanities in the area, causing people to exit their homes to investigate.  The subject, Verret was reported as telling parents to bring their kids in the house if they didn't want them to hear it.  Verret was located on Union St. by officers and placed under arrest.  He was transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated. 

 

 

William H. King, 36 years of age, Address-Filmore St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 09/08/2014 @ 12:45am

Charge: Theft of Goods (Value $18,21)

     Officers were dispatched to a Highway 182 convenience store regarding a theft.  Officers arrived and learned that a customer, William King had attempted to purchase alcoholic beverage and other items totalling $18.21.  The clerk advised that the subject attempted to purchase the items with a check but was advised by the clerk that the check was not valid.  The clerk advised that the subject ignored the clerk and took the items, leaving the store.  Officers located the subject, William King at his residence and after questioning, placed King under arrest for the theft.  He was transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated.

 

 

Jair Razo, 19 years of age, Address-Grizzaffi St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 09/07/2014 @ 12:59am

Charge: Attemtped Second Degree Murder

     Officers were dispatched to a Grizzaffi St. residence regarding a subject who had been stabbed.  Officers arrived and located a male victim with a wound to his abdomen.  Medical personel were summoned to assist the victim while officers investigated the incident.  Officers learned during the investigation that the victim and another subject, Jair Razo had been involved in a verbal altercation earlier.  It was learned that the verbal altercation turned physical.  Razo, according to the victim physically attacked the victim, striking the victim in the abdomen area with a knife, causing the wound.  Officers located Jair Razo, who after being advised of his Miranda Rights admitted to stabbing the victim during the disturbance.  Officers conducted a search and located the weapon involved and seized it as evidence.  Jair Razo was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated.  The victim was transported to a medical facility where he was listed in good condition.

Charge: Possession of Schedule II CDS-Cocaine; Possession of Schedule IV CDS-Alprazolam; Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

     A patrolling officer observed a vehicle fail to signal numerous turns in the area of Brashear Ave. and Third St. and stopped the vehicle to investigate.  The driver of the vehicle was identified as Elton Brown Jr..  Mr. Brown retrieved his documents from the vehicle at which time the officer observed an open container of alcoholic beverage inside the vehicle and questined Brown regarding the item.  Brown consented to a search of his vehicle and upon officers entering the vehicle, they observed suspected crack cocaine in the passenger seat of the vehicle. The substance tested positive for cocaine and was seized.  The passenger in the vehicle was identified as Tierra Wilson who was found to possess pipes commonly used to consume illegal narcotics, and a celophane bag which contained a bag of pills identified as Alprazolam, a Schedule IV CDS.  The celophane bag also contained two more small bags of suspected crack cocaine and powder cocaine.  These items were seized.  Officers learned that the driver, Elton Brown Jr. had possessed the items and had surrendered them to the passenger upon being stopped in an effort to conceal the items from police officers.  Both subjects were arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where they were booked and incarceated.  Elton Brown Jr. remains incarcerated with a bond of $31,500.00.  Ms. Wilson remains incarcerated with a $16,000.00 bond. 

 

 

Venetia Gros, 55 years of age, Address-Stephensville Rd. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 09/02/2014 @ 8:35pm

Charge: Aggravated Flight from an Officer; Resisting an Officer; Hit & Run Driving; No Seat Belt; Possession of Schedule II CDS-Methamphetamine; Obstruction of Justice; Careless Operation of a Moving Vehicle

     Officers were dispatched to a Hit & Run accident in the area of Clothilde St. and Ninth St. and arrived to investigate.  Officers were provided a description of a vehicle that was involved in an accident which had left the scene headed North on La. Hwy 70.  Officers located the suspect vehicle on La. Hwy 70 near Lake End Park area and attempted to stop the vehicle. The driver, at first refused to stop and was observed weaving into oncoming traffic and the shoulder of the roadway.  The vehicle finally stopped and the female driver appeared to be exiting the vehicle.  The vehicle then pulled away and proceeded on La 70 towards Stephensville at 35mph.  The vehicle continued to swerve erratically.  St. Martin Sheriff's Office was contacted as the vehicle turned onto Stephensville Rd.  The vehicle was eventually stopped when a St. Martin unit pulled in front of the unit blocking the narrow roadway.  The vehicle stopped and the driver refused to exit the vehicle or unlock her the door.  As officers attempted to gain entry into the vehicle, the driver sped up, striking the St. Martin unit and coming to rest.  The door was unlocked and the subject had to be physically removed from the vehicle.  The subject was observed clutching an object in her hand which was retrieved and found to be pieces of celophane and foil.  The subject was also observed attempting to swallow an object which appeared to be the same type celophane and foil.  It contained a white mixture beleived to be methamphetamine.  The remains of the substance was retreived.  The subject was physically restrained and arrested.   She was placed in the rear of the police unit and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where she was questioned and admitted to officers that she had attempted to swallow a substance which she had just obtained.  She was booked and remains incarcerated with no bond yet set.  The substance, beleived to be methamphetamine was seized for analysis.  There may be additional charges pending regarding the crash in St. Martin Parish by the Louisiana State Police who was summoned to assist.
