MCPD Arrest Report 10/11/2018

Chief James F. Blair reports that over the last 24-hour period the Morgan City Police Department responded to 46 calls for service. The following person(s) were arrested as a result beginning on 10/10/2018:

Manuel Mantalaba, 52 years of age, Address-LA Hwy 182 Morgan City, La. was arrested on 10/09/2018 @ 2:58 am.

Charge: Driving While Intoxicated 1st Offense
               No Turn Signal
               Careless Operation

     An officer on LA Hwy 182 observed a vehicle with improper lighting. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver, Manuel Mantalaba was asked to produce a valid driver’s license. Reports indicate that Mantalaba appeared intoxicated. Mantalaba was asked to perform the Standardized Field Sobriety Test in which he performed poorly. Mantalaba was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department. Once at the department, Mantalaba submitted to the chemical test for intoxication. Mantalaba’s results yielded a .152g% blood alcohol content. Mantalaba was booked and incarcerated.

Melonie Ruffin, 47 years of age, Address-Railroad Ave. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 10/10/2018 @ 9:46 am.

Charge: Failure to Appear for Criminal Neglect of Family

   Melonie Ruffin was located in the area of Poncio St. near Railroad Ave. and placed under arrest for an active warrant she held for the 16th Judicial District Court. Ruffin was transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.

Wesley R. Bass, 21 years of age, Address-River Rd. Berwick, La. was arrested on 10/09/2018 @ 1:53 pm.

Charge: Warrant-Failure to Pay Fines (3cts)

   Wesley Bass was located on Federal Ave. and placed under arrest for active warrants he held for the 6th Ward City Court. Bass was transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.

Heather M. Rentrop, 29 years of age, Address-LA Hwy 182 Morgan City, La. was arrested on 10/09/2018 @ 2:45 pm.

Charge: Possession of Marijuana
               No Tail Lights
                Possession of a Legend Drug-Lamotrigine

    An officer in the on US Hwy 90 observed a vehicle with improper lighting. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver, Heather Rentrop was asked to produce a valid driver’s license. Reports indicate that suspected marijuana and a pill identified as lamotrigine were found inside Rentrop’s vehicle. Rentrop was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.

Heather A. Spencer, 37 years of age, Address-LA Hwy 182 Morgan City, La. was arrested on 10/9/2018 @ 3:45 pm.

Charge: Warrant-Failure to Appear for Trial (2cts)

   Heather Spencer was located on LA Hwy 182 near David Dr. and placed under arrest for active warrants she held for the 6th Ward City Court. Spencer was transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.

Linda S. Campbell, 57 years of age, Address-Second St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 10/09/2018 @ 3:55 pm.

Charge: Warrant-Failure to Appear

   Linda Campbell was located on Brashear Ave. and placed under arrest for an active warrant she held for the 16th Judicial District Court. Campbell was transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.

Chad M. Hebert, 41 years of age, Address-South Bay Rd. Pierre Part, La. was arrested on 10/09/2018 @ 3:22 pm.

               Warrant-Driving Under Suspension

   Chad Hebert was located on Victor II Blvd and placed under arrest for active warrants he held for the Morgan City Police Department. Hebert was transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.

Chris J. Boudreaux, 51 years of age, Address- McDermott Dr. Morgna City, La. was arrested on 10/09/2018 @ 9:21 pm.

Charge: Disturbing the Peace Offensive Language
               Resisting an Officer

   Chris Boudreaux was a passenger in a vehicle involved in a traffic stop. According to reports, Boudreaux began yelling profanities and causing a disturbance. Boudreaux was asked to calm down several times but continued. Boudreaux was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.

David Brown Jr, 30 years of age, Address-Federal Ave. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 10/09/2018 @ 9:17 pm.

Charge: Disturbing the Peace Intoxicated
               Remaining After Being Forbidden

   Officers responded to a residence on Federal Ave. in regards to a disturbance. Officers arrived and David Brown was identified by witnesses as causing the disturbance. Reports indicate that Brown appeared intoxicated and had also been told not to return to the residence.  Brown was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.

Anthony Richardson, 57 years of age, Address-Lafayette, La. was arrested on 10/09/2018 @ 11:51 pm.

               Improper Lane Usage

   An officer observed a vehicle on LA Hwy 182 swerving in and out of the lane of travel. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver, Anthony Richardson was asked to produce a valid driver’s license. Reports indicate that Richardson appeared intoxicated. Richardson was asked to perform the Standardized Field Sobriety Test, in which he performed poorly. Richardson was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department. Once at the department, Richardson submitted to the chemical test for intoxication. Richardson’s results yielded a .163g% blood alcohol content. Richardson was booked and incarcerated.

Christoph Govaert, 48 years of age, Address- Ze Lzate, Belgium was arrested on 10/10/2018 @ 2:38 am.

                Improper Lane Usage

     An officer on LA Hwy 182 observed a vehicle stopped in the middle of the roadway. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver, Christoph Govaert was asked to produce a valid driver’s license. According to reports, Govaert appeared intoxicated. Govaert was asked to perform the Standardized Field Sobriety Test and he performed poorly. Govaert was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department. Once at the department, Govaert submitted to the chemical test for intoxication. Govaert’s results yielded a .125g% blood alcohol content. Govaert was booked and incarcerated.

   Officers responded to a local motel on Brashear Ave. in regards to a disturbance. Officers arrived and made contact with the motel management. According to reports, Robert Folse and Deshawn Smith had gotten into a verbal altercation that later turned physical. Both Folse and Smith began fighting each other with metal objects. Smith required medical treatment for his injuries. Both Folse and Smith were placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.

Chief James F. Blair reports that over the last 24-hour period the Morgan City Police Department responded to 44 calls for service. The following person(s) were arrested as a result beginning on 10/08/2018:

George W. Tate, 55 years of age, Address- League City, TX was arrested on 10/07/2018 @ 7:19 pm.

Charge: Driving While Intoxicated 1st Offense
               Possession of Alcoholic Beverage in Motor Vehicle
               Improper Lane Usage

   Officers responded to the area of US Hwy 90 and Martin Luther King Blvd. in regards to a vehicle being driven in a reckless manner. A description was given of the vehicle and it was located on Martin Luther King Blvd and a traffic stop was conducted. The driver, George Tate was asked to produce a valid driver’s license. Reports indicate that Tate appeared intoxicated and that there was an open container of alcohol inside the vehicle. Tate was asked to perform the Standardized Field Sobriety Test, in which he performed poorly. Tate was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department.  Once at the department, Tate submitted to the chemical test for intoxication. Tate’s results yielded a .178g% blood alcohol content. Tate was booked and incarcerated.

Duane K. Shaffer, 54 years of age, Address- Maryland St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 10/08/2018 @ 12:22 am.

Charge: Disturbing the Peace Intoxicated

  Officers responded to a residence on Maryland St. in regards to a disturbance. Officers arrived and Duane Shaffer was identified as the individual causing the disturbance. Reports indicate that Shaffer appeared intoxicated. Shaffer was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.

Carla L. Stafford, 31 years of age, Address-Egle St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 10/08/2018 @ 7:17 am.

               No Insurance

   An officer in the area of Sixth St. and Brashear Ave. observed a vehicle with improper lighting. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver, Carla Stafford was asked to produce a valid driver’s license. A computer check revealed that Stafford’s driver’s license was suspended and her vehicle did not have insurance. Stafford was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.

Jarvis Melton, 32 years of age, Address-Garber St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on10/08/2018 @ 9:35 am.

               Driving Under Suspension

   An officer in the area of Hilda and Mayon St. observed a vehicle with improper lighting. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver, Jarvis Melton was asked to produce a valid driver’s license. A computer check revealed that Melton’s driver’s license was under suspension. Melton was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.

Sarah A. Barnett, 29 years of age, Address-Sixth St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 10/08/2018 @ 12:41 pm.

Charge: Warrant-Possession of Sch III CDS-Buprenorphine
               Warrant-Illegal Use of CDS in the Presence of Person Under 17

   Sarah Barnett was located on Sixth St. and placed under arrest for an active warrant she held for the Morgan City Police Department. The warrant stems from an incident in August that alleges Barnett was in possession of buprenorphine in the presence of a small child.  Barnett was booked and incarcerated.

Caffery J. Williams, 52 years of age, Address-Garber St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 10/08/2018 @ 4:09 pm.

              Possession of Alcoholic Beverage in Motor Vehicle

    An officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the area of LA Hwy 70. The driver was identified as Caffery Williams. A computer check revealed that Williams had a suspended driver’s license. Williams was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.

Audie M. Guidry, 39 years of age, Address-Sixth St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 10/08/2018 @ 5:27 pm.

               Introduction of Contraband into a Penal Institution

      Audie Guidry was located in the area of Sixth and Gen. McArthur St. and placed under arrest for an active warrant she held for the Thibodaux Police Department. Guidry was transported to Morgan City Police Department. Once at the police department, a correctional officer located suspected methamphetamine and pills identified as clonazepam and viagra for which she did not have a prescription. Guidry was additionally charged and incarcerated.

Matthew T. Rollins, 25 years of age, Address-Diane Lane Patterson, La. was arrested on 10/08/2018 @ 6:16 pm.

Charge: Warrant-Probation Violation

   Matthew Rollins was transported from the Berwick Police Department to the Morgan City Police Department for an active warrant he held for the 6th Ward City Court. Rollins was booked and incarcerated.

Tyrese A. Thomas, 19 years of age, Address-Sixth St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 10/08/2018 @ 10:22 pm.

Nyjul T. Hillebrandt, 22 years of age, Address-Lawrence St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 10/08/2018 @ 10:22 pm.

   An officer in the area of Wren St. observed a vehicle with improper lighting. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver, Tyrese Thomas was asked to produce a valid driver’s license. The passengers in the vehicle were identified as Tyler Sylvester and Nyjul Hillebrant. During the course of the investigation, suspected marijuana and drug paraphernalia were found inside the vehicle. Thomas, Sylvester, and Hillebrandt were all placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.
