MCPD Arrest Report 10/08/2018

Chief James F. Blair reports that over the last 72-hour period the Morgan City Police Department responded to 130 calls for service. The following person(s) were arrested as a result beginning on 10/05/2018:

Kayla M. Francise, 20 years of age, Address-Keith St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 10/05/2018 @ 9:55 am.

Charge: Warrant-Failure to Appear for Trial

   Kayla Francise was placed under arrest at the Morgan City Police Department for an active warrant she held for the 6th Ward City Court. Francise was booked and incarcerated

Tori Madise, 24 years of age, Address-Baton Rouge, La. was arrested on 10/05/2018 @ 4:52 pm.

Charge: Disturbing the Peace

Natasha D. Bergeron, 32 years of age, Address-Second St. Patterson, La. was arrested on 10/05/2018 @ 4:52 pm.

Charge: Warrant-Theft under $1000.00
               Warrant- Driving Under Suspension
               Warrant- Failure to Pay Fines

      Officers responded to the Morgan City Cemetery in regards to a disturbance. Officers arrived and were told by witnesses that an individual identified as Tori Madise was there yelling profanities and causing a disturbance, but had left in a vehicle prior to officers arrival. A description of the vehicle was given out and the vehicle was located in the Brownell Homes area. Officers made contact with Tori Madise and the passenger in her vehicle Natasha Bergeron. Madise was placed under arrest. A computer check revealed that Bergeron held active warrants for the Morgan City Police Department and the 6th Ward City Court, she was placed under arrest. Both Madise and Bergeron were transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.

Dario M. Barhona, 67 years of age, Address-Fourth St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 10/05/2018 @ 6:58 pm.

Charge: No Turn Signals
              Driving Under Suspension

  An officer in the area of Everett St. observed a vehicle with improper lighting. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver, Dario Barhona was asked to produce a valid driver’s license. A computer check revealed that Barhona’s driver’s license was under suspension. Barhona was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.

Charlie R. Williams Jr, 40 years of age, Address- Seventy Nine Pines Morgan City, La. was arrested on 10/05/2018 @ 10:17 pm.

Charge: Expired License Plate
               No Driver’s License
               No Insurance

   An officer on Brashear Ave. noticed a vehicle with an expired license plate. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver, Charlie Williams was asked to produce a valid driver’s license. A computer check revealed that Williams did not have a valid driver’s license nor did his vehicle have insurance. Williams was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.

Nicole Atkinson 10062018

Nicole M. Atkinson, 33 years of age, Address- Russo St. Berwick, La. was arrested on 10/06/2018 @ 10:30 am.

Charge: Theft under $1000.00

  Officers responded to a business on Seventh St. in regards to a shoplifter. Officers arrived and were told by management that an individual had come into the store and had taken items without making a purchase. The individual had left the store in a vehicle prior to officers’ arrival. A description of the vehicle was given out and the vehicle was located on LA Hwy 182. The driver, Nicole Atkinson was asked about the incident. Reports indicate that Atkinson admitted to the theft. Atkinson was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.

Michael Bray 10072018

Michael E. Bray, 59 years of age, Address- Julie St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 10/07/2018 @ 12:00 am.

Charge: Driving While Intoxicated 4th Offense
               Driving Under Suspension
               No Vehicle Registration

  An officer on LA Hwy 182 observed a vehicle swerving in and out the lane of travel. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver, Michael Bray was asked to produce a valid driver’s license. Reports indicate that Bray appeared intoxicated. Bray was asked to perform the Standardized Field Sobriety Test, he refused. Bray was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department. Once at the police department, Bray submitted to the chemical test for intoxication. Bray’s results yielded a .217g% blood alcohol content. A computer check revealed that Bray had three prior Driving While Intoxicated charges within the last ten years. Bray was booked and incarcerated.  

Andres Ramirez, 36 years of age, Address-New Iberia, La. was arrested on 10/07/2018 @ 1:56 am.
Charge: Driving While Intoxicated 1st Offense
               Improper Lane Usage
               No Driver’s License

      An officer on US Hwy 90 observed a vehicle swerving in and out the lane of travel. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver, Andres Ramirez was asked to produce a valid driver’s license. A computer check revealed that Ramirez did not have a valid driver’s license. According to reports, Ramirez appeared intoxicated. Ramirez was asked to perform the Standardized Field Sobriety Test, in which he performed poorly. Ramirez was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department. Once at the department, Ramirez submitted to the chemical test for intoxication. Ramirez’s results yielded a .152g% blood alcohol content. Ramirez was booked and incarcerated.

Leroy Walker, 64 years of age, Address-Becky Dr. Patterson, La. was arrested on 10/07/2018 @ 12:55 pm.

Charge: Hit & Run

   An officer responded to a residence on Terrrebonne St in regards to a hit and run vehicle accident. The officer arrived and made contact with the victim who stated that someone backed into her parked vehicle. According to reports, information was received from witnesses that identified the other vehicle and the driver as being Leroy Walker. Walker was contacted and returned to the scene of the accident. Reports indicate Walker admitted to crashing into the vehicle and leaving the scene. Walker was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.

Michael Guidry 10072018

Michael L. Guidry, 50 years of age, Address-Sixth St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 10/07/2018 @ 2:39 am.

Charge: Warrant-First Degree Murder (Bond $1,000,000)
               Warrant- Bank Fraud (Bond $250,000)
               Warrant- Parole Violation

  On October 01, 2018, the Morgan City Police Department began an investigation of a suspicious death at a residence located on 1200 Walnut Dr.  The victim, Patricia Lyn Russo, 70 years of age was discovered inside the home. Investigators initial assessment of the circumstances and evidence indicated that foul play was involved. Upon completion of the autopsy, the death was ruled a homicide. During the course of the investigation, Michael L. Guidry was developed as a suspect and warrants were issued for his arrest.

   On October 06, 2018 at 4:30 pm, Morgan City Police Department Detectives along with the assistance of the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office located Guidry at a residence in Independence, La. and placed him under arrest. Guidry was booked into the Tangipahoa Parrish Jail as a fugitive. Guidry was transported from the Tangipahoa Parish Jail to the Morgan City Police Department and booked on First Degree Murder, Bank Fraud, and Parole Violation. Guidry remains incarcerated with his bail set at $1,250,000.

MCPD Arrest Report 10/05/2018

Chief James F. Blair reports that over the last 24-hour period the Morgan City Police Department responded to 52 calls for service. The following person(s) were arrested as a result beginning on 10/04/2018:

Kyle J. Benoit, 26 years of age, Address-Federal Ave. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 10/04/2018 @ 10:03 am.

Charge: Possession of Marijuana
              Driving Under Suspension

      Officers responded to the area of Fifth St. in regards to a vehicle being driven in a reckless manner. A vehicle fitting the description was located on Fifth St. and a traffic stop was conducted. The driver, Kyle Benoit was asked to produce a valid driver’s license. A computer check revealed that Benoit’s driver’s license was suspended. Benoit was also found with suspected marijuana in his possession. Benoit was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.

Shane P. Scully, 30 years of age, Address-Grizzaffi St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 10/04/2018 @ 1:38 pm.

Charge: Driving Under Suspension
               No Insurance
               Switched License Plate

   An officer in the area of LA Hwy 182 near Seventh St. observed a motorcycle that appeared to not have a license plate. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver, Shane Scully was asked to produce a valid driver’s license. A computer check revealed that Scully’s driver’s license was under suspension. Reports indicate that a license plate was on the motorcycle, however, it was not registered to that motorcycle. There was also no insurance on the motorcycle. Scully was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.

Arturo N. Ruiz-Torres, 50 years of age, Address-Park Rd. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 10/04/2018 @ 3:42 pm.

Charge: Turning Movements and Required Signals
               No Driver’s License

   An officer observed a vehicle with improper lighting in the area of LA Hwy 182 and Martin Luther King Blvd. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver was identified as Arturo Ruiz-Torres. Ruiz-Torres was asked to produce a valid driver’s license. A computer check revealed that Ruiz-Torres did not have a valid driver’s license. Ruiz-Torres was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.

Edin A. Garcia-Flores, 30 years of age, Address-Terrebonne St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 10/04/2018 @ 8:27 pm.

Charge: Switched License Plate
               No Driver’s License
               No Insurance
               No Registration

  An officer conducted a traffic stop in the area of LA Hwy 70 near Ninth St. on a vehicle that the license plate had been switched. The driver was identified as Edin Garcia-Flores and he was asked to produce a valid driver’s license. A computer check revealed that Garcia-Flores did not have a valid driver’s license. Also, the vehicle did not have insurance or the proper registration. Garcia-Flores was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.
