Chief James F. Blair reports that over the last 24-hour reporting period the Morgan City Police Department responded to 50 calls for service. The following persons were arrested as a result beginning on 03/28/2018:

Ciara Percle 03282018


Ciara D. Percle, 31 years of age, address: Fifth St. Morgan City, La., arrested on 03/28/2018 @ 6:05 a.m.

Charges: Disturbing the Peace
                 Criminal Damage to Property
                 Possession of SCH IV CDS (Alprazolam)
                 Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
                 Warrant: Probation Violation
                 Warrant: F.T.A. to Pay Fine on 12/09/2017 (4 counts)

Patrol officers responded to a local Motel in the area of Eighth St. in regards to a disturbance. Officers arrived and Ciara D. Percle was identified. Percle held several active arrest warrants through the 6th Ward Morgan City Court. Percle was found to be in possession of suspected alprazolam and drug paraphernalia and it was learned that she had damaged property belonging to the motel.  Percle was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where she was booked and incarcerated.

Stacy A. Antoine, 59 years of age, address: Orange St. Morgan City, La., arrested on 03/28/2018 @ 10:17 a.m.

Teresa Bland, 48 years of age, address: Mallard St. Morgan City, La., arrested on 03/28/2018 @ 10:17 a.m.

Charges: Disturbing the Peace by Fighting

Patrol officers responded to the area of Robin St. in regards to a disturbance. Officers arrived when Stacy A. Antoine and Theresa Bland were identified as the parties involved. According to reports, Antoine and Bland were involved in a fistic encounter. Antoine and Bland were arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where they were booked and incarcerated.

Kimberly Mayon, 27 years of age, address: Glenwood St. Morgan City, La., arrested on 03/28/2018 @ 12:09 p.m.

Charges: Warrant: Failure to Return Leased Merchandise
                 Warrant: F.T.A. for Arraignment on 05/10/2017

Kimberly Mayon was located and arrested in the area of Railroad Ave. on active arrest warrants held by the Morgan City Police and 16th Judicial Court. The warrant from the Morgan City Police stems from an investigation conducted by patrol officers on November 04, 2016 when they responded to a local business in the area of Seventh St. in regards to a subject failing to return leased merchandise. Kimberly Mayon was identified as the suspect in the investigation. Mayon allegedly leased merchandise from the business and failed to make any payments or return the merchandise. The investigation continued and warrants were prepared for Mayon’s arrest. Mayon was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where she was booked and incarcerated.

Jovan M. Mosley, 37 years of age, address: Bernard St. Patterson, La., arrested on 03/28/2018 @ 10:30 p.m.

Patrol officers observed a vehicle being operated in the area of LA 182 with improper lighting. According to reports, officers attempted to initiate a stop on the vehicle when the vehicle fled. The driver operated the vehicle in an erratic manner passing vehicles and placing other motorists in harm’s way. The vehicle fled to the area of Young's road when the driver exited the vehicle with the vehicle still in motion. The vehicle continued to travel striking a tree where it came to rest. The driver fled on foot into a wooded area when officers gave chase. The subject resisted officers but was eventually taken into custody. Jovan M. Mosley was identified. A firearm was located in the vicinity of Mosely which he is prohibiting from possessing due to him being a convicted felon. Mosely’s Louisiana Driver’s License was found to be under suspension and the vehicle he was operating was not properly registered nor had a proper license plate. Mosely was also found to hold an active arrest warrant through the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office. Mosely was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

Amber A. Chatagnier, 32 years of age, address: Smith Dr. Chauvin, La., arrested on 03/29/2018 @ 4:16 a.m.

Charges: Resisting an Officer by Giving False Information
                 Fugitive

Patrol officers observed a vehicle being operated in the area of LA 182 with improper lighting. A stop was initiated when Kenneth P. Jones was identified as the operator of the vehicle. Amber A. Chatagnier was identified as an occupant but initially provided officers with a false name. According to reports, the vehicle was found to be reported stolen through the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office. Jones’ Louisiana Driver’s License was found to be under suspension. Jones was found to hold active arrest warrants through the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office. Chatagnier was found to hold active arrest warrants through the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office and Houma Police Department. Jones and Chatagnier were both arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where they were booked and incarcerated.

Cortez Francois, 22 years of age, address: Garber St. Morgan City, La., arrested on 03/27/2018 @ 4:30 p.m.

Charges: Attempted Simple Burglary
                 Criminal Trespassing

Cortez Francois was located and arrested at the Morgan City Police Department on active arrest warrants held by the Morgan City Police. The warrants stem from an investigation conducted by patrol officers on March 19, 2018, when officers responded to the area of Aycock St. in regards to an attempted vehicle burglary. Francois was identified as a suspect in that investigation. Allegedly Francois attempted to gain entry into a vehicle. The investigation continued and warrants were prepared for Francois’ arrest. Francois was booked into the Morgan City Jail and incarcerated.

Louis Topham 03272018

Louis D. Topham, 42 years of age, address: Hwy 182 Morgan City, La., arrested on 03/27/2018 @ 3:39 p.m.

Charges: Theft by Shoplifting

Patrol officers responded to a local business in the area of LA 182 in regards to a complaint of a shoplifter. Officers arrived and Louis D. Topham was identified. According to reports, Topham allegedly took merchandise valued at $25.90. Topham was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

Laquesha K. Davis, 28 years of age, address: First St. Morgan City, La., arrested on 03/23/2018 @ 3:23 p.m. 
Charges:
 Possession of Marijuana
                 Illegal Use of CDS in the Presence of Juveniles
                 Violation of Uniform CDS Law (Drug-Free Zone)

Investigators with the Morgan City Police Department Narcotics Division executed a search warrant at a residence in the area of First St. Leroy Davis III was developed as a suspect in the investigation. Laquesha K. Davis and a small juvenile were also located in the residence. A search produced a large amount of suspected Marijuana that was individually packaged for sale and money that is believed to be derived from illicit sales. Laquesha K. Davis was also found to be in possession of suspected marijuana. The area where this incident had taken place was within a Drug-Free Zone. Leroy Davis III and Laquesha K. Davis were both arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where they were booked and incarcerated.

MCPD Detectives Investigate Shooting; Arrest One and One Wanted on Kidnapping Charges

Investigators with the Morgan City Police Department Detectives Division were investigating an alleged Kidnapping that has occurred in the early morning hours of Tuesday, March 27, 2018. While investigating the incident patrol officers and investigators with the Morgan City Police Department responded to the area of Laurel St. in regards to several gunshots being fired. Information was received of a black male subject fleeing the area. A description was obtained when investigators encountered the subject in the area of Franklin St. The subject fled from investigators and a foot chase ensued. Multiple Morgan City Police officers and Detectives,  both on and off duty,  with  assistance from the St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Department, apprehended Trajuan M. Pitts a short time later. 

During the course of the investigation, it was learned that Pitts was approached by a black male subject who began to fire multiple shots. Pitts was not struck by gunfire but reports of a residence in the area were. The investigation continued and it was learned that at approximately 1:30 a.m. Pitts and Davonte Williams allegedly encountered the victim when they committed a battery on them and placed them in a trunk of a vehicle. The individual was transported to the Franklin area where they escaped capture and fled the area. The subject was later discovered by the Franklin Police Department and transported to Franklin Foundation for medical treatment. The investigation continued and evidence was uncovered linking Pitts and Williams to the Kidnapping portion of the investigation. Warrants were prepared for their arrest. Pitts was booked into the Morgan City Jail and incarcerated. 

The investigation into both of these incidents is still under ongoing. Two area schools were placed on a lockdown status as a precautionary measure to assure the safety of children and staff. It is unknown at this time if there is a possible link in regards to the Kidnapping and Shooting incidents. The Morgan City Police Department is asking anyone with information related to either of these incidents to please contact the Morgan City Police Department Detectives Division @ (985)380-4605. Davonte Williams is currently wanted on Second Degree Kidnapping charges. Anyone knowing the whereabouts to Williams is urged to contact the Morgan City Police Department.

 Krystal L. Meranta, 28 years of age, address: Clark Rd. Morgan City, La., arrested on 03/26/2018 @ 8:00 a.m.

Charges: Warrant: F.T.A. to Pay Fine on 03/06/2018

Krystal L. Meranta was located and arrested at the Morgan City Police Department on active arrest warrants held by the 6th Ward Morgan City Court. Meranta was booked into the Morgan City Jail and incarcerated.

Damon M. Allen, 47 years of age, address: Cross Rd.#2 Morgan City, La., arrested on 03/26/2018 @ 8:08 a.m.

Charges: Driving under Suspension
                 Inspection Required

Patrol officers observed a vehicle being operated in the area of MargueriteSt. with an expired inspection. A stop was initiated and Damon M. Allen was identified as the operator of the vehicle. Allen’s Louisiana Driver’s License was found to be under suspension. Allen was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

Nico Q. Skipper, 28 years of age, address: Dora St. Morgan City, La., arrested on 03/26/2018 @ 1:54 p.m.

Charges: Warrant: F.T.A. to Pay Fine on 09/26/2017 (6 counts)

Nico Q. Skipper was located and arrested at the Patterson Police Department on active arrest warrants held by the 6th Ward Morgan City Court. Skipper was transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

Patrol officers responded to the area of Robin St. in regards to a complaint. Officers arrived and Kayla M. Francise was identified. According to reports, Francise was found to be in possession of suspected Alprazolam and Marijuana. The area where the incident had taken place is within a Drug-Free Zone. Francise was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where she was booked and incarcerated.

Phi Duval, 33 years of age, address: Belanger St. Morgan City, La., arrested on 03/27/2018 @ 2:23 a.m.

Charges: Disturbing the Peace

Patrol officers responded to the area of LA 70 in regards to a disturbance. Officers arrived and Phi Duval was identified. According to reports Duval began to cause a disturbance in the presence of the officers. Duval was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

Tanner J. Scarbrough, 18 years of age, address: Bayou Black Dr. Gibson, La., arrested on 03/23/2018 @ 8:50 a.m. 

Charges: Warrant: Theft of a Firearm     

Tanner Scarbrough was located and arrested at the Berwick Police Department on an active arrest warrant held by the Morgan City Police. The warrant stems from an investigation conducted by the Morgan City Police Department Detectives Division that began on March 09, 2018 in regards to a theft of a firearm. Scarbrough was developed as a suspected in the investigation. Evidence was uncovered linking Scarbrough to the crime. The investigation continued and warrants were prepared for Scarbrough’s arrest. Scarbrough was transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

Patrol officers observed a motorcycle in the area of Railroad Ave. following too close behind another vehicle almost striking it. The motorcycle was also observed failing to stop at a stop sign in the area. A stop was initiated and Christopher M. Williford was identified as the operator of the vehicle. According to reports, Williford was found to be in possession of suspected cocaine, Hydrocodone, and Alprazolam. Williford was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

Vincent A. Thomas Jr., 24 years of age, address: Fourth St. Morgan City, La., arrested on 03/23/2018 @ 12:26 p.m.

Vincent A. Thomas Jr. was located and arrested at the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center on active arrest warrants held by the 6th Ward Morgan City Court. Thomas was transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

Patrol officers observed a vehicle being operated in the area of LA 182 and the operator was not properly restrained. A stop was initiated and Jared Porche was identified as the operator of the vehicle. Porche’s Louisiana Driver’s License was found to be under suspension. Porche was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

James P. Chaisson, 51 years of age, address: W. 200 North St.  Orem, UT., arrested on 03/24/2018 @ 2:51 p.m.

                 Fugitive

Patrol officers observed a vehicle being operated in the area of LA 182 with improper equipment. A stop was initiated and James P. Chaisson was identified as the operator of the vehicle. According to reports, Chaisson’s Louisiana Driver’s License was found to be under suspension. Chaisson was found to be in possession of an alcoholic beverage in the motor vehicle. Checks revealed that Chaisson held an active arrest warrant through the Utah County Sheriff’s Office. Chaisson was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

Scott J. Comeaux Sr. was located and arrested in the area of Roselawn Dr. on active arrest warrants held by the 6th Ward Morgan City Court. Comeaux was transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

Taylor Caldwell was located and arrested in the area of Brashear Ave. on active arrest warrants held by the West Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office. Caldwell was transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

Ashlyn R. Gros, 26 years of age, address: Sun Rd. Morgan City, La., arrested on 03/25/2018 @ 6:31 p.m.

Ashlyn R. Gros was located and arrested in the area of LA 182 on active arrest warrants held  by the Morgan City Police and Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office. The warrant from the Morgan City Police stems from an investigation conducted by patrol officers on March 06, 2018 when officers responded to the area of Victor II Blvd in regards to a theft. According to reports, Ashlyn R. Gros was developed as a suspect. Allegedly Gros took an item belonging to the victim. The investigation continued and warrants were prepared for Gros’ arrest. Gros was transported to the Morgan City Jail where she was booked and incarcerated.

                 Warrant: F.T.A. for Child Support Hearing (17th Judicial Court)

Jacob T. Bergeron was located and arrested in the area of Front St. on active arrest warrants held by the 16th and 17th Judicial Courts. Bergeron was transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

Michelle Ocasio, 40 years of age, address: Cypress St. Amelia, La., arrested on 03/25/2018 @ 7:57 p.m.

Charges: Driving While Intoxicated 1st Offense

Patrol officers responded to the area of Victor II Blvd in regards to a vehicle being operated in a reckless manner. A description of the vehicle was obtained and when officers arrived in the area the suspected vehicle was located. The vehicle was being operated in an erratic manner. A stop was initiated and Michelle Ocasio was identified as the operator of the vehicle. According to reports, Ocasio was found to be in an intoxicated state. Ocasio performed poorly on Standardized Field Sobriety Test. Ocasio was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail for Chemical Testing which she refused to submit to. Ocasio was found to be in possession of suspected Hydrocodone during a search. Ocasio was booked into the Morgan City Jail and incarcerated.

Zachary Trahan, 17 years of age, address: Aucoin  St. Morgan City, La., arrested on 03/25/2018 @ 11:07 p.m.

Charges: Warrant: Disturbing the Peace

Zachary Trahan was located and arrested in the area of Aucoin St. on active arrest warrants held by the Morgan City Police. The warrant stems from an investigation conducted by patrol officers on January 31, 2018, when Trahan allegedly caused a disturbance in the presence of the victim. The investigation continued and warrants were prepared for Trahan’s arrest. Trahan was transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

Seth Martin was located and arrested at the Morgan City Police Department on active arrest warrants held by the 6th Ward Morgan City Court. Martin was booked into the Morgan City Jail and incarcerated.
