The following were arrested by the Morgan City Police Department during the last reporting period beginning 02/11/2014:

Anthony E. James, 28 years of age, Address-Patterson, La. was arrested on 02/11/2014 @ 12:39pm

Charge: Warrant: Failure to Pay Fine Loud Music

     Anthony James was located at the Patterson Police Department and placed under arrest on outstanding warrant for the Morgan City Police Department. He was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and released after posting a cash bond. 

 

Brandy M. Jones, 29 years of age, Address-Lafayette, La. was arrested on 02/11/2014 @ 2:42pm

Charge: Warrant: Criminal Trespass

     Brandy Jones turned herself in to the Morgan City Police Department to be booked on an outstanding warrant for the Morgan City Police Department She was booked and released after posting a cash bond.

The following were arrested by the Morgan City Police Department during the last reporting period beginning 02/10/2014:

Shane M. LeBlanc, 27 years of age, Address-Lamas St. Erath, La. was arrested on 02/10/2014 @ 10:34am

Charge: Warrant: Home Improvement Fraud; Warrant: Theft Over $500.00

     Shane LeBlanc was located at the Ascension Parish Jail and placed under arrest on outstanding warrants for the Morgan City Police Department.  The warrant stemmed from an investigation by Morgan City Police Detectives which indicated that Mr. Leblanc had allegedly conducted business in the Morgan City area as "Cajun Construction" and had reportedly committed the theft of over $2,500.00 for services that were not performed.  LeBlanc was transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated.  If anyone in the Morgan City area feels that they have been a victim of home improvement fraud by this or any other company should contact the Morgan City Police Department Detectives Division @985-380-4605 or your local law enforcement agency. 

 

 Gary J. Businelle, 18 years of age, Address-Bay Rd. Pierre Part, La. was arrested on 02/10/2014 @ 12:20pm

     Gary Businell was located at the Morgan City Police Department and placed under arrest on an oustanding warrant for the Morgan City Police Department.  He was booked and incarcerated.

     Kenneth Hamilton and Ashley Bocerra were arrested at a Highway 182 Lounge after officers were summoned to the lounge due to Hamilton causing a disturbance and refusing to leave the premises.  As officers placed Hamilton under arrest, Bocerra became agitated, according to reports and began to create a disturbance.  She was also placed under arrest.  Both subjects, who were allegedly intoxicated were transported to the Morgan City Police Department where they were booked and incarcerated. 

 

Scott A. Faulk, 44 years of age, Address-Duson, La. was arrested on 02/08/2014 @ 4:19am

Charge: Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated; Careless Operatin; Warrant: Calcasieu Parish-Unauthorized Use of an Access Card

     Officers responded to a single vehicle crash on Federal Ave. near Everette St. and identified the driver, Scott Faulk, who according to reports, exhibited signs of impairment.  Faulk was transported to Teche Regional for minor injuries where a blood and urine test were provided.  Faulk was also found to be wanted by Calcasieu Parish authorities on an outstanding warrant.  He was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated.  The results of the blood and urine test are pending.

Charge: Distribution of Schedule I CDs-Marijuana; Possession of Drug Paraphernalia; Expired License Plate; Warrant: Stop Sign Violation; Warrant: No Insurance; Possession of Marijuana 2nd Offense; Possession of Schedule II CDs-Cocaine-Third Offense

      A patrolling officer detained a vehicle and it's driver, Matthew Batiste near the 600 Block of Sixth St.  The detention was based on traffic violations as well as outstanding warrants for Mr. Batiste.  During the investigation, officers uncovered suspected marijuana; paraphernalia and suspected cocaine.  The passenger inside the vehicle, identified as Keshay Julian was also arrested after it was learned that she received suspected marijuana which was located from Batiste. Both subjects were arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where they were booked and incarcerated. 

 

 Tonyous W. Collins, 31 years of age, Address-Federal Ave. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 02/09/2014 @ 10:14pm

Charge: Warrant: Lafayette Parish S.O.-Simple Battery; Warrant: Lafayette Parish S.O.-Possession of Marijuana 2nd Offense

     Mr. Collins was arrested after officers detained a vehicle in the area of Highway 182 and Grizzaffi St. for traffic violations.  Mr. Collins, the driver of the vehicle was found to be wanted on oustanding warrants for Lafayette Parish and was arrested. He was transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated. 

 

 Daniel J. Plaisance, 51 years of age, Address-Pierre Part, La. was arrested on 02/10/2014 @ 12:39pm

Charge: Disturbing the Peace

Daniel Plaisance was arrested at a Highway 182 Lounge after officers were flagged down regarding a disturbance in the parking lot.  Plaisance, who was identified as the subject causing the disturbance was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated. 

 

Janice C. Motte, 56 years of age, Address-Oak St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 02/09/2014 @ 2:52pm

Charge: Possession of Schedule III CDS-Hydrocodone

     Officers were dispatched to a Highway 182 parking lot regarding a suspicious vehicle and occupants.  Officers located the subjects in question and during the investigation, located Hydrocodone, a controlled dangerous substance in the possession of Janice C. Motte.  She was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where she was booked and incarcerated.
