Chief James F. Blair reports that over the last 24-hour period the Morgan City Police Department responded to 41 calls for service. The following person(s) were arrested as a result beginning on 12/19/2018:
Gerard Deshotel, 47 years of age, Address: Lake Palourde Rd, Amelia, La. was arrested on 12/19/2018 @ 1:01 pm

Driving under Suspension
Resisting an officer -False Information
An officer checking a traffic light which was flashing red saw a vehicle not stop as required. The officer stopped the vehicle and spoke with the driver. During the stop, it was learned that the driver had given the officer a false name and was then identified as Gerard Deshotel, who was learned to the driving under suspension. Deshotel was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking.
Brian Berry, 58 years of age, Address: Second St. Berwick, La. was arrested on 12/19/2018 @ 2:28 pm
Charges: Violation of a protective order
Brian Berry was arrested by Franklin Police Department on an outstanding warrant for Morgan City Police Department. Berry was transported to the Morgan City Police Department and booked.

Possession of Marijuana
An officer in the area of Hwy 182 and 7th St. saw a vehicle with only one headlight working. The officer stopped the vehicle and spoke with the driver. During the stop, the officer could smell marijuana coming from the vehicle. The officer asked the driver Raymond Gautreaux about the smell at which time he admitted he had marijuana in the vehicle. Gautreaux was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking

Charges: Disturbing the Peace by Fighting
Officers were called to a Federal Ave location after two subjects were involved in a fight. Officers were able to locate both subjects and identified them as Mashane Charles and Jalen Walker. Officers learned that both subjects were seen fighting with each other. Both Charles and Walker were placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking.

An officer in the area of Ditch Ave saw a vehicle with the license plate upside down. The officer stopped the vehicle and spoke with the driver Elmer Gales, who stated that he did not have a drivers license. The officer also learned that Gales had no registration or Insurance and the license plate on the vehicle did not match the vehicle. Gales was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking.

On officer spoke with Francois in the area of 4th St. during which time it was learned that Francois had warrants from City Court of Morgan City. Francois was placed under arrest and during a search of his persons the officer located suspected marijuana on him. Francois was transported to the Morgan City Police Department Jail for booking.
Dondre Parker, 22 years of age, Address: Ditch Ave. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 12/20/2018 @ 1:30 am
Charges: Warrant Possession of Sch II-(Cocaine)Less than 2 grams
Parker was located by officers who knew of warrants from the 16th JDC for Possession of Sch-II (Cocaine). Parker was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking.
