The following persons were arrested by the Morgan City Police Department during the last reporting period beginning 12/01/2014:

 

 

Martha T. Shanchez, 21 years of age, Address-Terrebone St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 12/01/2014 @ 3:22pm

Charges: Warrant: Failure to Appear-No Drivers License/Speeding; No Drivers License (2nd Offense); Speeding 32mph in a 15mph zone (School Zone)

     An officer observed a speeding vehicle traveling through a school zone located on Marguerite St. and determined that the vehicle was traveling 32mph in a 15 mph zone.  The officer stopped the vehicle and made contact with the driver, Martha Sanchez.  It was discovered that Sanchez was wanted on outstanding warrants for the Morgan City Police Department for traffic violations.  She was subsequently arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where she was booked and incarcerated. 

 

 

     Two female juveniles, both age 15, Address-Morgan City, La. were arrested on 12/01/2014 @ 2:36pm

Charge: Fighting

     Officers were summoned to the Morgan City High School regarding two students who were detained after being involved in a fistic encounter.  Officers investigating the incident learned that the students were observed by teaching staff fighting.  Both students were arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where they were booked and released to an adult pending juvenile court proceedings.

Arrest Report 11/22/2014

     Officers dispatched to the area of the Mr. Charlie Rig Museum regardind a suspicious vehicle located a male subject, Wesley Foster who was found to be wanted on an outstanding warrant for the Morgan City Police Department.  Upon his arrest, Mr. Foster was also found to be in possession of a substance determined to be synthetic marijuana and was additionally charged.  He was transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated. 

 

 

Tiffani Delaune, 27 years of age, Address-Highway 182 Berwick, La. was arrested on 11/21/2014 @ 6:45pm

Charge: Warrant: Doctor Shopping (Illegal Acquisition of a Controlled Substance) (3 Counts)

     Detectives of the Morgan City Police Department began an investigation based on a complaint of the improper acquisition of a prescriiption drug.  During the investigation, evidence was obtained that indicated that a female suspect, Tiffani Delaune had acquired a controlled substance, Aderol multiple times during a two month period from multiple doctors.  It was confirmed through the investigation that the subject had visited multiple doctors to obtain the drug.  She was located at her residence and placed under arrest on the outstanding warrant.  She was transported to the Morgan City Police Department where she was booked and incarcerated with a bond of $30,000.00.

 

 

Annie L. McIntyre, 30 years of age, Address-John St. Berwick, La. was arrested on 11/22/2014 @ 12:40am

Charge: Warrant: Doctor Shopping (Illegal Acquisition of a Controlled Substance) 19 counts

     Detectives of the Morgan City Police Department began in investigation into the illegal acquisition of a controlled substance based on a complaint filed.  The suspect, Annie McIntyre was identified and accused of visiting multiple doctors over the same time period in order to obtain multiple prescriptions for the same controlled substance, Aderol.  During the the investigation, it was learned that the suspect, McIntyre had made 19 such transactions during the past year.  Annie McIntyre was arrested on the outstanding warrant at the Morgan City Police Department where she was booked and incarcerated with a bond of $30,000.00.  

 

 

Corey Toups, 27 years of age, Address-Cross Rd. Bayou Vista, La. was arrested on 11/22/2014 @ 10:33am

     Officers responded to a complaint of a disturbance at the Daiquiri Shop on Highway 182.  Officers arrived and during the investigation, observed a male subject, Corey Toups shove an off duty reserve officer who was assisting at the scene.  Toups attempted to strike the officer and was subdued.  Toups was physically restrained and placed under arrest.  He was transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated. He was released after posting a cash bond of $1,184.00.

 

 

Carlos Cespedes, 48 years of age, Address-Victor II Blvd. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 11/22/2014 @ 4:02pm

Charge: Warrant: 2 Counts Attempted First Degree Murder; Warrant: Aggravated Burglary; Warrant: Theft of a Motor Vehicle; Warrant: Violation of a Protective Order

      Carlos Cespedes was arrested on several outstanding warrants based on an investigation by Morgan City Police Detectives into an incident which occurred on November 14, 2014.  In that complaint, officers responded to a Seventh St. residence in regards to shots being fired. Officers arrived and located a male and female victim who were unharmed but had reported that the female had entered her residence and found an acquaintance, Carlos Cespedes inside her residence.  Witnesses advised that Cespedes had fired several shots at the female victim and a male subject.  The female victim advised she was chased and at least one other shot was fired by the suspect as Cespedes chased her.  The subject, Carlos Cespedes, reportedly took the male victim's vehicle and then fled the scene.  Carlos Cespedes, who was under a restraining order banning him from any contact with the female victim was identified as the suspect.  During the investigation, Detectives were able to secure information which led them to the location of the suspect in the New Orleans area.  The Attorney General's Office Fugitive Apprehension Task Force was able to use that information in capturing the fugitive.  Detectives with the Morgan City Police Department traveled to New Orleans where they located Cespedes and transported him back to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and remains incarcerated with a bond of $500,000.00.  

 

 

Donald P. Laughlin, 44 years of age, Address-Third St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 11/22/2014 @ 6:51pm

Charge: Warrant: Failure to Pay Fine; Simple Battery

     Officers responded to a complaint of a disturbance at Front St. and Brashear Ave. and located a male subject and female subject involved in an altercation.  As officers arrived, the male subject, Donald Laughlin was observed striking the female and was detained.  Laughlin, who was found to be wanted on an outstanding warrant was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated.

Arrest Report 10/20/2014

Mario C. Tejera, 30 years of age, Address-Sycamore St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 10/17/2014 @ 11:20am

Charge: Aggravated Battery; Resisting an Officer

     Officers were dispatched to a Sycamore St. residence regarding a reported stabbing.  Officers located and located a female, bleeding from the face who advised officers that she had been involved in a verbal altercation with an ex-boyfriend which turned physical at which time the victim was stabbed in the face area.  Officers located the suspect, Mario Tejera in the rear of the residence, however, Tejera fled the scene and was captured by officers in the area.  Officers detained the subject and recovered the weapon from the residence.  According to the victim, who reported to officers that she was in the kitchen of the residence, she was struck by the suspect in the arm which caused the knife she was holding to strike her face, causing the injury.  Mario Tejera was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated with a bond of $25,000.00. 

 

 

Emmanuel Marcado, 24 years of age, Address-Park St. Patterson, La. was arrested on 10/18/2014 @ 12:40pm

Charge: Possession of Contraband in a Penal Institution; Abuse of Toxic Vapors

      Officers encountered Emanuel Mercado who was already incarcerated in the Morgan City Jail facility.  Mercado appeared impaired and upon further investigation, was found to possess and have used synthetic marijuana which he then introduced into the jail facility.  The substance was then located inside a cell and the subject additionally charged.  He was incarcerated with a bond of $16,000.00.

Charge: Improper Lane Usage, Possession of Schedule II CDS-Cocaine; No Drivers License

     A patrolling officer observed a vehicle traveling on Highway 182 in an erratic manner and stopped the vehicle to investigate.  The driver, identified as Juan Robles was identified and found not to possess a valid drivers license.  During the stop, Robles was found to be in possession of two small celophane bags of suspected cocaine which was seized.  Robles was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarerated

 

 

Miguel A. Galeas, 25 years of age, Address-Roberts Dr. Houma, La. was arrested on 10/18/2014 @ 3:54am

Charge: Operating a Vehicle while Intoxicated; No Drivers License; Possession of Alcoholic Beverage in a Motor Vehicle

     A patrolling officer observed a vehicle traveling on Brashear Ave. in an erratic fashion and stopped the vehicle to investigate.  The driver, Miguel Galeas appeared to be in an impaired condition and was given a field sobriety test which he failed.  Galeas was found not to possess a valid drivers license and was in possession of open containers of alcoholic beverage inside his vehicle.  Galeas was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was given an Intoxilyzer 5000 test which resulted in a result of a blood alcohol concentration of .219g%.  Miguel Galeas was booked and incarcerated. 

 

 

Corey M. Aleksines, 19 years of age, Address-Freret St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 10/18/2014 @ 4:25am

Charge: Reckless Operation of a Moving Vehicle; Hit & Run Driving; Abuse of Toxic Vapors

     Officers were dispatched to the area of Fourth St. and Maine St. in regards to a vehicle striking a tree and then fleeing the scene.  Officers arrived and were able to obtain a detailed description of the vehicle along with the license plate number.  Officers located the vehicle at a Federal Ave. residence and observed the vehicle to be damaged.  The driver, Corey Aleksines was identified and detained.  Officers located a can of compressed air inside the vehicle and during the investigation, it was learned that Aleksines that he had intentionally inhaled the fumes from the can prior to the accident.  Aleksines was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated.

     An officer observed a vehicle traveling in the area of Myrtle St. and Railroad Ave. in an erratic manner.  The vehicle was observed as it almost collided with a pedestrian on a bicycle.  The vehicle was stopped on Railroad Ave. and the driver identified as Oscar Detrinidad who was found to be operatiing a vehicle without a drivers license nor motor vehicle insurance.  Detrinidad was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated.

Charge: Disturbing the Peace Intoxicated; Remaining on Premises after Being Forbid. Violation of a Protective Order

     Officers were dispatched to a Highway 182 convenience store in regards to a subject threatening the clerk.  Officers arrived and learned from the clerk and witnesses that Carlos Cespedes, who had been barred from that location and went to the location and threatened the clerk.  Witnesses advised that Cespedes refused to leave and made threatening gestures indicating that the subject may be armed.  Officers located Cespedes a short distance away and detained him.  Cespedes, who was found to be under the restrictions of a protective order  which barred him from contact with the victim was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated.

     A patrolling officer observed a vehicle being driven in an erratic manner in the area of Ninth St. and Ditch Ave. and stopped the vehicle to investigate.  The driver, Caffery Williams, according to reports, appeared to be in an impaired condition and was given a field sobreity test which he failed.  Williams, who was also found to possess open containers of alcoholic beverage in his vehicle was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where an Intoxilyzer 5000 test indicated a blood alcohol concentration of .156g%. Williams was booked and incarcerated.

     A patrolling officer observed a vehicle traveling at 60mph in a 30mph zone on Railroad Ave.   The vehicle was observed weaving in opposing lanes of travel and was stopped to investigate.  The driver, Vernon Robinson Jr. appeared to be in an impaired condition and was given a field sobriety test which he failed.  Robinson was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was given an Intoxilyzer 5000 test which results indicated a blood alcohol concentration of .224g%.  He was booked and released after posting a cash bond.

Charge: Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated; Careless Operation with an Accident; No Motor Vehicle Insurance

     A patrolling officer observed an apparent vehicle crash in the area of Railroad Ave. and stopped to investigate.  During the investigation, it was learned that a vehicle, driven by Letitia Boudreaux had struck a parked vehicle causing damage to both vehicles.  The driver, Boudreaux appeared impaired and was given a field sobriety test which she failed.  She could not produce liability insurance and was subsequently placed under arrest.  She was transported to the Morgan City Police Department where she was given an Intoxilyzer 5000 test which indicated a blood alcohol concentration of .175g%.  She was booked and incarcerated.

     Officers observed Kevin Drexler, who did not possess a valid drivers license operating a vehicle on Egle St. and stopped the vehicle to investigate.  Drexler could not produce proof of liability insurance and was subsequently arrested.  He was transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated.

     A patrolling officer observed a vehicle being driven in erratic manner on Federal Ave. and stopped the vehicle to investigate.  The driver, Jarrett Picou could not produce insurance and appeared nervous.  He was found to possess a pipe commonly used to consume illegal narcotics.  He was placed under arrest.  During the investigation,  Picou was found to possess Oxycodone and Alprazolam, both controlled substances.  He was transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated.

     A patrolling officer observed a vehicle on Highway 182 with no visible license plate and stopped the vehicle to investigate.  The driver, Danny Fulkes was found to be operating a vehicle with a suspended drivers license.  He could not provide registration nor vehicle insurance.  Fulkes was found to have a temporary license plate that did not belong to the vehicle being driven.  He was arrested.  He was found to be in possession of open containers of alcoholic beverge in his vehicle along with a pipe commonly used to consume illegal narcotics.  He was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated.

     Officers were dispatched to a Gen Patton residence regarding a domestic dispute.  Officers arrived and encountered Troy Madise, who appeared intoxicated.  According to witness, Madise had become involved in an arguement with a female at the residence and during the arguement, damaged a door glass to the residence causing the glass to strike a female at the residence causing minor injuries.  Madise was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated.

     Officers were dispatched to a Roderick St. address regarding a domestic type disturbance.  Officers arrived and encountered a male subject, Adrian Jazmin and a female, Heather Jazmin involved in an altercation.  The officers detained the subjects and also located small children inside the residence.  Both subjects, upon investigation were reportedly involved in physical altercation inside the residence.  Both subjects were accused of striking the other.  There was physical evidence and minor injuries on both subjects.  They were arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where they were booked and incarcerated.

Charge: Operating a Vehicle with a Suspended Drivers License

     A patrolling officer stopped a vehicle and detained the driver, Christopher Dauzet on Highway 182 after the vehicle was observed with improper equipment.  The driver, Dauzet could not produce a valid drivers license and was discovered to be operating a vehicle with a suspended drivers license.  He was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and released after posting a cash bond. 

 

 

Keindra N. McDaniel, 27 years of age, Address-Apple St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 11/26/2014 @ 11:55am

     Keindra McDaniel, who was being housed at the Morgan City Police Department jail facility was booked on an outstanding warrant.  She remains incarcerated. 

 

 

        Two male juveniles, ages 15 and 16 years of age, Address-Morgan City, La. were arrested on 11/26/2014 at 1:44pm on outstanding warrants from in incident which occurred on August 23, 2014.  In that incident, a patrolling officer attempted to detain two male subjects in the area of Brashear Ave. and Fourth St. after suspicious activity was observed.  The subjects fled from the officer.  In the chase that followed, the officer was able to recover a bicycle along with a .45 cal. semi-automatic handgun which one of the subject's had discarded.  The weapon was found to have obliterated serial numbers which had been filed off in order to conceal any identifying marks.  It was seized as evidence.  One subject, was later identified during the investigation as a 15 year old juvenile.  The juvenile was eventually located and admitted to officers his involvment in the incident.  A second 16 year old juvenile was identified as the other suspect.  It was learned during the investigation that the 16 year old juvenile had stolen the weapon from a Morgan City address and attempted to file the serial numbers from the weapon.  It was also learned that the 16 year old juvenile, according to statements, provided the 15 year old juvenile with the weapon which was seized.  They were located at their residence, placed under arrest on the outstanding warrants and booked at the Morgan City Police Department.  They were released to an adult pending juvenile court proceedings. They were booked as follows:

     Michael Cochran was located at the Law Enforcement Center in Centerville and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked on an oustanding warrant for the Morgan City Police Department for failing to appear for traffic violations.  He is also being held on a hold for Houma Police Department as well as the Ascension Parish Sheriff's Department.   He was booked.and remains incarcerated.

     An officer responded to a vehicle crash in the area of Allison St. and came into contact with a male subject, Jacob  Gil.  It was discovered that Gil was wanted on an outstanding warrant for the Morgan City Police Department. He was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and released after posting a cash bond.

Hwy 182 after it was observed speeding.  The driver, Kendrick Ruffin was found to be operating a vehicle with a suspended drivers license.  He was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and released after posting a cash bond.

     A patrolling officer observed a vehicle with improper lighting and stopped the vehicle at Brashear Ave. and Federla Ave. to investigate. The driver, Irvin Arce could not produce a valid drivers license.  During the stop, Arce was found to possess suspected marijuana inside his vehicle.  He was subsequently arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated.

     Officers were dispatched to a Fifth St. loung regarding a subject causing a disturbance.  When officers arrived they located Robert Choate who appeared highly intoxicated.  He was identified as the subject who was causing the disturbance and refusing to leave the premises.  He was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated.

     Officers were dispatched to a South Railroad Ave. residence regarding a subject causing a disturbance.  Officers arrived and were advised that Peter Grogan Jr. who had already left the area had caused a disturbance at the residence and committed a battery on a female.  Officers located Grogan at his residence a short distance away.  He was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated.

     Officers received a complaint of a vehicle being driven in a reckless manner in the area of Hwy 182.  Officers located the vehicle in the area and identified the driver as Peggy Foret.  Foret was found to be in possession of various narcotic pills which she allegedly did not possess a valid prescription.  She was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where she was booked and incarcerated.

     Officers were dispatched to Lawrence Park in Morgan City regarding subjects causing a disturbance and yelling profanities. Officers arrived and located Jerald Francois and a female, Samantha Williams who were identified by the witnesses and their statements.  Both subjects were accused of using loud profane language in the park area during an arguement.  The female, Samantha Williams was found to possess an open container of alcoholic beverage.  Both were arrested and handcuffed.  Jerald Francois was also found to possess a small amount of suspected synthetic marijuana upon his arrest.  Both were transported to the Morgan City Police Department where they were booked and incarcerated.

     A patrolling officer observed a vehicle make an illegal turn in the area of Brashear Ave. and Federal Ave.  The vehicle traveled north on Federal Ave. at a high rate of speed and ina reckless manner.  The vehicle was eventually stopped near Marshall St.  The driver, Raven Mayon could not produce a valid drivers license.  The subject also admitted to the presence of suspected marijuana inside his vehicle.  The substance was seized and placed into evidence.  Raven Mayon, who was also found to be in the presence of a 13 year old juvenile was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated.

     A patrollling officer observed a speeding vehicle traveling on Highway 182 and clocked the vehicle at 47mph in a 35mph zone.  The vehicle was stopped and the driver identified as Brittany Whitley.  Whitley was found to be operating a vehicle with an expired drivers license.  She was also found to be in possession of suspected marijuana as well as items of drug paraphernalia which she identified as belonging to her.  She was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where she was booked and incarcerated.

     Officers were dispatched to a Front St. residence regarding a domestic dispute.  Upon arrival officers were advised that a male subject, Rayfield Grant Jr. had become involved in an arguement with a female at the residence.  Grant was accused of grabbing the female around the throat during the arguement which reportedly occurred the presence of two small juveniles.  The subject, Rayfield Grant Jr. was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he became combative and attempted to harm himself as well as other officers.  He was placed into a holding cell until he could be processed safely.  He remains incarcerated.

     Officers patrolling the Belanger St. area came into contact with a suspicous male subject and stopped to investigate.  The subject, Nathanial Rollins, during the encounter was found to possess several individual bags of suspected synthetic marijuana and was subsequently arrested.  Officers gathered evidence which indicated that Rollins had been selling the substance and charged him accordingly.  The area which Rollins was detained was within the prescribed "Drug Free Zone" near an elementary school.  Rollins was transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated.

     Lashawn Antoine, who was incarcerated in the Morgan City Jail facility was arrested and booked on additional charges after she became unruly inside the Morgan City Jail facility.  As correctional officers intervened, Antoine is reported to have made threats of physical harm to the officers.  During officers attempts to move her into a holding cell, Antoine allegedly struck a correctional officer and had to be physically subdued.  She was booked and remains incarcerated.

     A patrolling officer observed a vehicle being driven in an erratic manner in the area of Second St. and stopped the vehicle to investigate.  The driver, identified as Mike Stelter was found to be operating a vehicle with a suspended drivers license and was subsequently arrested.  During his arrest, Stelter was found to possess a container which contained suspected marijuana and was additionally charged.  He was transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated.
