     Officers were dispatched to a Brashear Ave. location regarding a disturbance.  Officers learned that a female, Samantha Williams was accused of striking a male subject at that location and then leaving the scene.  Officers searched the area and located Williams who appeared in an impaired condition.  She was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where she was booked and incarcerated.

Charge: Improper Lighting; No Drivers License

     Patrolling officers observed a vehicle with improper lighting traveling on La. Hwy 182 and stopped the vehicle to investigate.  The driver, Santos Rivera could not produce a valid drivers license and was arrested.  He was transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated.

     Officers were dispatched to the Morgan City High School where they were advised that two students, Audaria Jones and Titiana Francois had been involved in a fistic encounter on school property.  Both were arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where they were booked and incarcerated.

Charge: Criminal Trespass; Warrant: Failure to Comply-Drug Court (6 Counts)

     Officers were dispatched to a Franklin St. residence regarding a subject trespassing on the property.  Officers arrived and located Thomas Remedies in the rear of the residence and detained him for invesigation.  The subject, who was not authorized to be on the property was found to have several outstanding warrants and was subsequently arrested.  He was transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated.

     Dakota Daigle was located at his residence and placed under arrest on an outstanding warrant for the Sixth Ward City Court of Morgan City.  He was transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he remains incarcerated with a bond of $692.00.

Charge: Resisting an Officer (Failure to Identify); Possession of a Firearm in a Firearm Free Zone

     An officer patrolling the Brownell Homes housing area encountered a male subject on the street corner who was observed conducting suspicious activity.  The officer stopped to identify the subject and to ascertain if he was a resident of the housing area.  The subject refused to identify himself to officers after several requests and after being advised that his refusal could lead to his arrest.  During the encounter, Collie, identified a vehicle which was parked nearby as his and admitted to officers that it contained a handgun.  The Brownell Homes area, along with all federal housing areas are designated as Drug Free/Firearm Free Zones.  The area is also within close proximity to area schools.  The narcotics K-9 was deployed and a search of the vehicle was conducted.  A 9mm handgun was recovered from the vehicle.  The subject, who was not a resident of the housing area was eventually identified as Jerell Collie.  Collie was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated with no bond yet set.

Charge: Disturbing the Peace; Resisting an Officer; Attempted Battery on a Police Officer

     Officers were dispatched to the Brownell Homes area in regards to subjects fighting.  Officers arrived and investigated the incident and were preparing to leave when they were approached by a male subject, Lance Carbins who began agitated at the officers presence in the area.  The subject was instructed to calm, however the subject began to use profanities and started yelling.  As officers attempted to place Mr. Carbins under arrest, he refused to cooperate and attempted to strike the officer with a closed fist.  The officer deployed a Taser and the subject was subdued.  He was transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was placed in a holding cell due to his combative nature.  He remains incarcerated with a bond of $2,168.00.

Jamison C. Dunigan, 39  years of age, Address-Shubuta, Ms. was arrested on 12/09/2014 @ 4:10pm

Charge: Warrant: Possession of Drug Paraphernalia; Warrant: Simple Escape

      Jamison Dunigan was located at Lauderdale County Detention Center in Mississippi where he was transported to the Morgan City Police Department and incarcerated on outstanding warrants for the Morgan City Police Department.  Dunigan had escaped from officers custody on 08/24/2014 after being arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia.  He was booked and incarcerated in the Morgan City Jail facility and later transferred to the Law Enforcement Center in Centerville, La.

Charge: Simple Assault; Criminal Damage to Property

     Aubrey Daigle Jr. was arrested by officers after they received a complaint of a male subject who had attempted to strike another male subject in the parking lot of a Brashear Ave. drugstore.  The victim advised that Daigle had broken the window of his vehicle in the disturbance.  Officers gathered video evidence which cooberated the victim's story and located Aubrey Daigle Jr. who had returned to the scene.  He was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated. He was released after posting a cash bond.

     Demarcus Skipper was located at a Highway 182 apartment complex by a patrolling officer and placed under arrest on outstanding warrants for the Morgan City Police Department.  He was booked into the Morgan City jail where he remains incarcerated.

     William Harrison was located in Berwick La. and placed under arrest on an outstanding warrant for the Morgan City Police Department.  He was booked and incarcerated.

     Tyrone Thomas was arrested by detectives at the Morgan City Police Department on a warrant which was obtained as a result of an investigation which began on November 24, 2014.  In that complaint, Thomas was accused of attacking a female victim, striking her several times causing injuries which required medical attention.  Thomas was booked and incarcerated.

Charge: Obstructing Public Passage; Operating a Vehicle with a Suspended Drivers License; Possession of Marijuana; Introduction of Contraband into a Penal Institution

     Officers were dispatched to the Keith St. area regarding a vehicle blocking the roadway.  Officers arrived to find a vehicle across the road with the engine still running and in gear.  The subject inside appeared asleep.  Officers had to gain entry into the vehicle to check on the subject.  He denied any medical treatment.  He was found to be operating a vehicle with a suspended drivers license.  He was subsequently arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail facility where upon further search was found to have suspected marijuana concealed on his person.  He was additionally charged and incarcerated.

Charge: Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated; Speeding 57/45mph zone; Possession of Alcoholic Beverage in a Motor Vehicle; Possession of Alcohol by Persons under the age of 21

     A patrolling officer observed a speeding vehicle traveling on La Hwy 182 and determined that the vehicle was traveling 57mph in a 45mph zone.  It was stopped and the driver was identified as 17 year old, Marco Ortiz who was found to be in possession of open containers of alcoholic beverage.  Ortiz, who exhibited signs of impairment was given a field sobriety test in which he failed.  He was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was given an Intoxilyzer 5000 test which indicated a BAC of .091%.  He was booked and incarcerated.

Charge: Theft (Value $52.83)

     Officers were dispatched to a Brashear Ave. supermarket regarding a shoplifter.  Investigating officers were advised by store personnel that a detained male subject, Leonard Yarborough had attempted to steal bottles of alcohol valued at $52.83 by concealing the items and leaving the store before he was stopped by employees.  Yarborough was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and remains incarcerated.

Charge: No Drivers License; Improper Lighting

     A patrolling officer observed a vehicle traveling on Second St. with improper lighting and stopped the vehicle to investigate.  The driver, Daniel Gonzalez was found to be operating a vehicle with no valid drivers license.  He was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated. 

Darren T. Hemphill, 45 years of age, Address-Front St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 12/03/2014 @ 12:39am

Charge: Appearing in Public Intoxicated; Resisting an Officer

     An officer observed Darren Hemphill begin to create a disturbance at the Waffle House located on Highway 182.  The officer intervened and determined that Hemphill was in an intoxicated condition.  Hemphill had refused to leave the premises when asked by an employee and began to use profanities.  The officer escorted Hemphill from the property and attempted to obtain transportation,however Hemphill refused to comply and was subsequently arrested.  He resisted attempted to place him under arrest and had to be physically subdued and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated.
