Charge: Possession of Schedule I CDS-Marijuana; Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

     Officers received a complaint from staff at Teche Regional in regards to a subject being involved in an altercation and arrived to investigate.  When officers came into contact with the subject, Juan Torres Jr., he removed a suspected celophane bag of marijuana from his person and threw it on the counter telling officers they can take him to jail.   The officer recovered the evidence and placed Torres under arrest.  He was transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated.

     Chrisian C. Calamia turned himself in to officers at the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked on outstanding warrants for the City Court of Morgan City.  He was booked and released after posting a cash bond of $5,000.00.

     Richard Hawkins turned himself in to officers at the Morgan City Police Department and was booked on outstanding warrants for the Morgan City Police Department. The warrants were obtained by detectives in reference to an investigation into an alleged incident which was reported on December 21, 2014 in which Hawkins is accused of striking another subject with a bicycle during an altercation.  Hawkins was booked and released after posting a $1,000.00 cash bond.

     Kaylynn Rodriquez was arrested after officers were dispatched to a Highway 182 apartment in regards to several juveniles being abandoned in that residence.  Officers arrived to locate three small children, ages 7 years old, 2 years old, and a 1 year old.  Officers began to investigate and identified Kaylynn Rodriguez as the mother of the children.  As officers continued their investigation, they eventually located Rodriguez, who initially attempted to conceal her identity by giving a false name.  Rodriquez was found to be in an intoxicated condition.  She was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where she was booked and incarcerated.  The children were turned over to a concerned adult relative.

Charge: Resisting an Officer; Possession of Schedule IV-Alprazolam; Obstruction of Justice; Possession of Marijuana

     Officers patrolling the Highway 182 area near Colonial Plaza Shopping Center came into contact with a stalled vehicle and stopped to assist.  The driver of the vehicle, Terrance Davis was identified and discovered to be operating a vehicle with a suspended drivers license.  He was also found to be wanted on outstanding warrants for the St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Department.  As officers were conducting their investigation, a  passenger in the vehicle, identified as Shane Scott reportedly exited the vehicle and began to interfere and cause a disturbance by shouting at officers.  Scott, who continued to become a threat towards the officers was checked for weapons at which time a box containing several pills later identified as Alprazolam, a Schedule IV CDS.  Shane Scott attempted to grab the contraband from the officers.  The subject, Scott then fled from officers and had to be subdued.  Scott, according to reports attempted to break free from the officers several times and was eventually subdued using a Taser.  Shane Scott was placed into handcuffs and escorted to the police unit where he admitted to officers that he possessed marijuana, a controlled substance from his waistband.  Both Terrence Davis and Shane Scott were transported to the Morgan City Police Department where they were booked and incarcerated.

Charge: Disturbing the Peace

     Venetia Gros was arrested by officers after they received a complaint in regards to a disturbance at a Highway 182 apartment complex.  Gros was located at the residence barricaded in the bathroom of the apartment.  She was reported by the complainant causing a disturbance by throwing objects and damaging property inside the apartment, then refusing to leave.  The subject was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where she was booked and incarcerated.

Charge: Warrant: Failure to Pay Probation Fee-Simple Assault

     Officers arrested Joshua Davis on an outstanding warrant for the City Court of Morgan City after he was located at the Morgan City Police Department jail facility attempting to visit an incarcerated inmate.  Davis was booked and incarcerated in the Morgan City facility where he later bonded out with a bond of $175.00.

     Lucius Romero was located at a Third St. residence and placed under arrest for entering the premises after being forbid by the owner of the residence as well as officers.  The subject returned to the residence despite warnings and was subsequently arrested.  He was transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated.

Charge: Disturbing the Peace      Michelle Brown was arrested after officers were dispatched to Teche Regional in regards to a disturbance.  Brown was accused by staff and security officers of harassing patients and guests causing a disturbance.  Brown reportedly refused demands to stop.  She was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where she was booked and incarcerated.

Charge: Possession of Alcoholic Beverage in a Motor Vehicle; Operating a Vehicle with a Suspended Drivers License
     Caffery Williams was located and arrested at a Highway 182 convenience store after officers were dispatched to that location in regards to Williams causing a disturbance with other customers.  Williams, who was attempting to drive from the premises was stopped and detained.  He was found to be in possession of alcoholic beverage in his motor vehicle and was also found to be operating a vehicle with a suspended drivers license.  He was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated.

     A patrolling officer stopped a vehicle and detained the driver, Francisco Morales after a traffic violation was observed.  Morales was found to be wanted on an outstanding warrant for the Sixteenth Judicial District Court and was placed under arrest.  He was transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated.

     Dustin Ferguson was located after officers observed him as a passenger in a vehicle.  The officer was aware of outstanding warrants for Ferguson's arrest and detained him.  He was arrested on several outstanding warrants for the Sixth Ward Court of Morgan City as well as the Sixteenth Judicial District Drug Court.  He was transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and remains incarcerated with a bond of $200,000.00.

     Investigators with the Morgan City Police Department traveled to Orange County Correctional Facility in Texas where three subjects wanted by the Morgan City Police Department in their continuing investigation of an attack on a Morgan City resident where remanded into their custody and transported back to Morgan City Police Department.  The subject, Jesus Munoz Perez, Zene Vasquez, and Ossiel Munoz Perez had waived extradition back to Louisiana.  The subjects were booked and incarcerated into the Morgan City Jail facility.  The subjects, as well as another subject reportedly involved, Geronimo Ramirez Martinez were also detained for Federal Immigration Enforcement.  Musus Munoz Perez, Zene Vasquez, and Ossiel Munoz Perez remain incarcerated with a bond of $300,000.

     Christopher Frye turned himself in to officers at the Morgan City Police Department to be booked on an outstanding warrant for violation of a protective order after officers secured the warrant in response to a complaint which was filed with an officer on December 14, 2014 where he was accused of repeated contacts to a female after being forbidden.  He was booked and released after posting a $2,500.00 bond.
