MCPD Arrest Report 11/03/2017

Chief James F. Blair reports that over the last 24-hour reporting period the Morgan City Police Department responded to 42 calls for service. The following persons were arrested as a result beginning on 11/02/2017:

Krystal L. Meranta, 28 years of age, address: Clark Rd. Morgan City, La., arrested on 11/02/2017 @ 11:10 a.m.

Charges: Simple Battery

Shanita Evans, 39 years of age, address: Oak St. Morgan City, La., arrested on 11/02/2017 @ 11:10 a.m.

Charges: Simple Battery

Correction Officers with the Morgan City Police Department responded to the Morgan City Jail Facility in regards to a disturbance on the cell block. According to reports, Krystal L. Meranta and Shanita Evans were identified in the altercation. Meranta and Evans allegedly struck each other during a fistic encounter. Meranta and Evans were booked into the Morgan City Jail and incarcerated.

Alton Livas, 60 years of age, address: Egle St. Morgan City, La., arrested on 11/02/2017 @ 10:37 a.m.

Charges: Simple Assault
                 Warrant: Aggravated Assault

Patrol officers responded to a local business in the area of LA 182 in regards to a report of an assault. According to reports, Alton Livas was identified as the subject involved. Livas allegedly threatened the victims while in the business. Livas was located a short time later in the area and he was found to hold an active arrest warrant with the Morgan City Police. The warrant stems from an investigation conducted by patrol officers on July 27, 2017, when officers responded to another local business in the area of Brashear Ave. Reports indicate that Livas allegedly threatened the victim. Livas had already left the area and warrants were prepared for his arrest. Livas was transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

Carlos Ruiz-Santos, 41 years of age, address: Main St. Patterson, La., arrested on 11/02/2017 @ 2:00 p.m.

Jolene Frye 11022017

Jolene Frye, 34 years of age, address: Marin St. Patterson, La., arrested on 11/02/2017 @ 4:44 p.m.

Charges: Possession of SCH II CDS (Methamphetamine)
                 Possession of SCH IV CDS (Alprazolam)
                 Possession of Marijuana
                 Introduction of Contraband into a Penal Facility
                 Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

Investigators with the Morgan City Police Department Narcotics Division observed a vehicle being operated in the area of Federal Ave. without operable tail lamps. Investigators attempted to initiate a stop and the vehicle failed to comply. The vehicle continued at which time investigators with the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division arrived and assisted. The vehicle continued and eventually stopped. Jody R. Cubbedge Jr. was identified as the operator of the vehicle and Jolene Frye was identified as an occupant. According to reports, Cubbedge refused to comply officers orders to exit the vehicle. Cubbedge was removed from the vehicle during which time he continued to actively resist investigators. The St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office K-9 Division assisted at which time K-9 Buddy was utilized in the apprehension of Cubbedge. Cubbedge was taken into custody. Reports indicate that during the investigation Cubbedge was found to be in possession of suspected Alprazolam, Marijuana, and Drug Paraphernalia and Frye was found to be in possession of suspected Methamphetamine, Alprazolam, Marijuana, and Drug Paraphernalia. The duo was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail. Once at the jail facility Frye was found to be in possession of more suspected Methamphetamine that was concealed on her person. Cubbedge and Frye were booked and incarcerated.

James Tyus, 36 years of age, address: Paradise Blvd. Panama City, FL., arrested on 11/02/2017 @ 11:03 p.m.

Charges: Disturbing the Peace

Patrol officers responded to a local hotel in the area of LA 182 in regards to a disturbance. According to reports, officers arrived and James Tyus was identified as one of the subjects involved. Tyus was found to be in an intoxicated state. Allegedly Tyus became irate with the complainant which led to the police being contacted. Tyus continued to use profanities and cause a disturbance once officers arrived. Tyus was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where they were booked and incarcerated.

Joshua R. Sharp, 37 years of age, address: Tall Oaks Ln. Youngsville, La., arrested on 10/31/2017 @ 7:46 a.m.

Charges: Driving under Suspension

Patrol officers observed a vehicle being operated in an erratic manner in the area of Sixth St. A stop was initiated and Joshua R. Sharp was identified as the operator of the vehicle. According to reports, Sharp’s Louisiana Driver’s License was found to be under suspension. Sharp was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

James F. Pike II, 51 years of age, address: Ratcliff Ln. Franklin, La., arrested on 10/31/2017 @ 9:50 a.m.

Charges: Driving while Intoxicated 1st Offense

Patrol officers responded to the area of LA 70 in regards to a crash that had occurred in a private parking lot. According to reports, James F. Pike II was identified as the operator of one of the vehicles involved. Pike was found to be in an intoxicated state. Pike performed poorly on Standardized Field Sobriety Test. Pike was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail for Chemical Testing to which Pike submitted to registering .000g% blood alcohol content. A blood sample was obtained pending analysis. Pike was booked into the Morgan City Jail and incarcerated.

Ryan J. Kemp, 34 years of age, address: Joseph St. Morgan City, La., arrested on 10/31/2017 @ 1:00 p.m.

Charges: Warrant: Probation Violation
                 Warrant: F.T.A. to Pay Probation Fee on 06/06/2017

Ryan J. Kemp was located and arrested at the Morgan City Police Department on active arrest warrants held by the 6th Ward Morgan City Court. Kemp was booked into the Morgan City Jail and incarcerated.

Micah Soileau, 20 years of age, address: Joey St. Patterson, La., arrested on 10/31/2017 @ 1:00 p.m.

Charges: Warrant: F.T.A. to Pay Fine on 02/21/2017 (3 Counts)

Micah Soileau was located and arrested at the Morgan City Police Department on active arrest warrants held by the 6th Ward Morgan City Court. Soileau was booked into the Morgan City Jail and incarcerated.

Mindy L. Sears, 33 years of age, address: Gilbert St. Houma, La., arrested on 10/31/2017 @ 3:09 p.m.

Charges: Hold for Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office

Mindy L. Sears was located and arrested in the area of Federal Ave. on an active arrest warrant held by the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office. Sears was transported to the Morgan City Jail where she was booked and incarcerated.

Brennan N. Skinner, 25 years of age, address: Grace St. Morgan City, La., arrested on 10/31/2017 @ 9:25 p.m.

Charges: Driving under Suspension
                 Disregard of Traffic Control

Patrol officers observed a vehicle fail to stop at a stop sign in the area of Railroad Ave. A stop was initiated and Brennan N. Skinner was identified as the operator of the vehicle. According to reports, Skinner’s Louisiana Driver’s License was found to be under suspension. Skinner was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

 Jose Luis Callado-Barragan, 46 years of age, address: Roderick St. Morgan City, La., arrested on 10/27/2017 @ 11:31 a.m.

Shonna F. Luke, 48 years of age, address: Roderick St. Morgan City, La., arrested on 10/27/2017 @ 11:35 a.m.

                 Warrant: Violation of Uniform CDS Law (Drug-Free Zone)
                 Warrant: Illegal Possession  of Stolen Things

Investigators with the Morgan City Police Department Detectives Division conducted an investigation in regards to a stolen purse from a local business in the area of LA 182 that occurred on October 19, 2017. According to reports, during the investigation, a description of the suspect and vehicle was obtained. That information was relayed to the Morgan City Police Department Patrol Division. The vehicle was located by patrol officers in the area of Victor II Blvd. A stop was initiated and Jose Luis Calldo-Barragan was identified as the operator of the vehicle. Shonna F. Luke, who was the owner of the vehicle, was identified as an occupant. It was learned that Callado-Barragan did not possess a valid driver’s license and that Luke allowed him to operate the vehicle with knowledge that Callado-Barragan did not have a proper license. Evidence was uncovered during the stop linking Calldo-Barragan to the theft investigation and Luke was found in possession of the stolen purse. A search warrant was conducted at their residence on Roderick St. where investigators located items that were originally in the purse when it was stolen. Additionally, investigators located suspected Marijuana and Drug Paraphernalia. The area where this incident had taken place was within a Drug-Free Zone. Calldo-Barragan and Luke were arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where they were booked and incarcerated.

Gionna Carbin, 17 years of age, address: Patton St. Morgan City, La., arrested on 10/27/2017 @ 1:58 p.m.

Charges: Disturbing the Peace-Fistic Encounters

Patrol officers responded to the Morgan City High School in regards to a fight. According to reports, officers arrived and Gionna Carbin was identified as one of the subject’s involved. It was learned during the investigation that Carbin was involved in a fistic encounter with two other females. All three females, two which were juveniles, were arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail. The two juveniles were booked and released to their guardians and Carbin was booked and incarcerated.

Hope L. Delgado, 32 years of age, address: Egle St. Morgan City, La., arrested on 10/28/2017 @ 12:20 a.m.

Jacoby J. Chevalier, 32 years of age, address: Hwy 90 Patterson, La., arrested on 10/28/2017 @ 3:43 p.m.

                 General Speed Law

Patrol officers observed a vehicle being operated in the area of Federal Ave. at speeds much higher than the posted speed limit. A stop was initiated and Jacoby J. Chevalier was identified as the operator of the vehicle. According to reports, Chevalier’s Louisiana Driver’s License was found to be under suspension. Chevalier was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

Etoyi M. Jones, 41 years of age, address: Charlotte Dr. Patterson, La., arrested on 10/29/2017 @ 1:31 a.m.

Charges: Simple Battery

Patrol officers responded to a residence in the area of Bowman St. in regards to a disturbance. According to reports, officers arrived and Etoyi M. Jones was identified as one of the subjects involved. Jones allegedly struck the victim pushing them into a wall. Jones was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

Shonna F. Luke, 48 years of age, address: Roderick St. Morgan City, La., arrested on 10/29/2017 @ 1:37 p.m.

Charges: Disturbing the Peace

Patrol officers responded to the area of Catherine St. in regards to a disturbance. According to reports, Shonna F. Luke was identified as one of the subjects involved. Luke allegedly caused a disturbance in the presence of the officers. Luke was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where she was booked and incarcerated.

Eddie P. Deslattes Jr., 49 years of age, address: Onstead St. Morgan City, La., arrested on 10/29/2017 @ 7:55 p.m.

Eddie P. Deslattes Jr. was located and arrested in the area of Onstead St. on active arrest warrants held  by the 6th Ward Morgan City Court, Berwick Police Department, and 16th Judicial Court. Deslattes Jr. was transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

Thomas Cushen, 47 years of age, address: Freret St. Morgan City, La., arrested on 10/29/2017 @ 9:24 p.m.

Charges: Domestic Abuse Battery

Patrol officers responded to the area of Freret St. in regards to a disturbance. According to reports, officers arrived and Thomas Cushen was identified as one of the subjects involved. Allegedly Cushen struck the victim during the altercation. Cushen was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

Frank D. Peavy, 45 years of age, address: First St. Morgan City, La., arrested on 10/30/2017 @ 12:00 a.m.

Charges: Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

Patrol officers responded to a residence in the area of North First St. in regards to a disturbance. According to reports, officers arrived and Frank D. Peavy was identified as one of the subject’s involved. Peavy was found to be in possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Peavy was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

Sarah N. Pierce, 23 years of age, address: Lawson St. Austin, TX. Arrested on 11/01/2017 @ 930 a.m.

                 Resisting an Officer

Officers with the Morgan City Police Department transported Sarah Nicole Pierce, who was already incarcerated in the Morgan City Jail, to a local facility due to an appointment. According to reports, once there, Pierce began to scream profanities and cause a disturbance in the presence of other patrons. When attempting to escort Pierce back to the police unit she began to pull away from the officer. Pierce was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where she was booked and incarcerated.

Joel Claudio-Deleon, 40 years of age, address: Ernies Ln. Franklin, La., arrested on 11/01/2017 @ 12:50 p.m.

Patrol officers observed a vehicle being operated in the area of Seventh St. in an erratic manner. A stop was initiated and Carlos Ruiz-Santos was identified as the operator of the vehicle. Joel Claudio-Deleon was identified as an occupant in the vehicle. According to reports, the vehicle that Ruiz-Santos was operating had no insurance, an expired inspection, and a license plate registered to another vehicle. Ruiz-Santos was also found not to possess a valid Louisiana Driver’s License. During the investigation, Claudio-Deleon was found to be in possession of fraudulent documents with a false identity. Claudio-Deleon was also found to hold active arrest warrants through the Morgan City Police. The warrants stem from an investigation conducted by patrol officers on September 20, 2017, when officers responded to the area of Wren St. in regards to a disturbance. Reports indicate that officers arrived and Claudio-Deleon was identified as one of the subjects involved. Allegedly over a two day period, Claudio-Deleon prevented the victim from leaving the residence with a small child. Claudio-Deleon was advised not to return to the residence after a recent break-up. The arguing continued and escalated when Claudio-Deleon armed himself with a knife. The police were contacted when Claudio-Deleon allegedly began to stab himself. Medical attention was provided and where Claudio-Deleon was later transported to an out of town medical facility. Claudio Deleon was also found to be in possession of suspected Gabapentin. The investigation continued at which time warrants were prepared for Claudio-Deleon’s arrest. Both subjects were transported to the Morgan City Jail where they were booked and incarcerated.

Sophia R. Gonzalez, 20 years of age, address: Chestnut Dr. Morgan City, La., arrested on 11/01/2017 @ 8:55 a.m.

                 Warrant: F.T.A. to Pay Fine on 10/17/2017

Patrol officers observed a vehicle being operated in the area of Everett St. fail to stop at a stop sign in the area. A stop was initiated and Sophia R. Gonzalez was identified as the operator of the vehicle. According to reports, Gonzalez’s Louisiana Driver’s License was found to be under suspension. Gonzalez was also found to hold an active arrest warrant through the 6th Ward Morgan City Court. Gonzalez was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where she was booked and incarcerated.

Randy M. Lee, 32 years of age, address: Faith St. Morgan City, La., arrested on 10/30/2017 @ 11:21 a.m.

Charges: Warrant: Obscenity
                 Warrant: Indecent Behavior with Juvenile(s)
                 Warrant: Simple Battery

Randy M. Lee was located and arrested at the Assumption Parish Detention Center on active arrest warrants held by the Morgan City Police. The warrants stem from an investigation conducted by the Morgan City Police Department Detectives Division on September 28, 2016, in regards to a subject who allegedly exposed himself to a juvenile victim and committed a battery on them. According to reports, Randy M. Lee was identified as a suspect during the investigation. Evidence was uncovered linking Lee to the crime. Warrants were prepared for Lee’s arrest. Lee was transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

Anthony D. Lightfoot, 35 years of age, address: Federal Ave. Morgan City, La., arrested on 10/30/2017 @ 10:10 p.m.

Charges: Warrant: F.T.A. for Trial on 06/28/2017

Anthony D. Lightfoot was located and arrested in the area of Fourth St. on an active arrest warrant held by the 16th Judicial Court. Lightfoot was transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

Chief James F. Blair reports that over the last 24-hour reporting period the Morgan City Police Department responded to 39 calls for service. The following persons were arrested as a result beginning on 10/26/2017:

 Mandi Hatfield, 30 years of age, address: Florence St. Morgan City, La., arrested on 10/26/2017 @ 10:00 a.m.

Charges: Warrant: Driving under Suspension
                 Warrant: Improper Lane Usage

Mandi Hatfield was located and arrested at the Morgan City Police Department on active arrest warrants held by the Morgan City Police. The warrants stem from an investigation conducted by patrol officers on September 21, 2017, when officers observed a vehicle being operated in an erratic manner in the area 5th St. A stop was initiated and Mandi Hatfield was identified as the operator of the vehicle. According to reports, Hatfield’s Louisiana Driver’s License was found to be under suspension. The investigation continued and warrants were prepared for Hatfield’s arrest. Hatfield was booked into the Morgan City Jail and incarcerated.

Benjamin Cheramie, 47 years of age, address: Franklin St. Morgan City, La., arrested on 10/26/2017 @ 3:00 p.m.

Charges: Domestic Battery Abuse-Strangulation

Patrol officers responded to the area of Greenwood St. in regards to a disturbance. According to reports, Benjamin Cheramie was identified as one of the subjects involved. Cheramie allegedly grabbed the victim around the neck during the altercation. Evidence was uncovered linking Cheramie to the crime. Cheramie was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

Kenneth J. McQuiston, 58 years of age, address: Franklin St. Morgan City, La., arrested on 10/26/2017 @ 7:47 p.m.

Charges: Hit & Run Driving

Patrol officers responded to a local business in the area of Federal Ave. in regards to a crash. According to reports, officers arrived and learned that the second vehicle involved had left the scene and fled the area. Kenneth J. McQuiston was identified as a suspect in the investigation. McQuiston was located at a residence in the area of Franklin St. Evidence was uncovered linking McQuiston to the crime. McQuiston allegedly admitted to striking the vehicle and leaving the scene. McQuiston was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

Matthew R. Johnson, 35 years of age, address: Millet Dr. Prairieville, La., arrested on 10/26/2017 @ 10:58 a.m.

Charges: Driving while Intoxicated 1st Offense
                 Speeding 60 mph in a 35 mph zone
                 Driving under Suspension
                 Expired License Plate

Patrol officers observed a vehicle being operated in the area of LA 182 and the officer observed that the license plate was expired. The vehicle was also observed traveling 60 mph in a 35 mph zone. A stop was initiated and Matthew R. Johnson was identified as the operator of the vehicle. According to reports, Johnson was found to be in an intoxicated state. Johnson performed poorly on Standardized Field Sobriety Test and his Louisiana Driver’s License was found to be under suspension. Johnson was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail for Chemical Test. Johnson submitted to Chemical Test which resulted in .106g% blood alcohol content. Johnson was booked into the Morgan City Jail and incarcerated.
