MCPD Arrest Report 10/03/2017

Chief James F. Blair reports that over the last 24-hour reporting period the Morgan City Police Department responded to 38 calls for service. The following persons were arrested as a result beginning on 10/02/2017:


Mary H. Sharp, 27 years of age, Address- Abbeville, La. was arrested on 10/02/2017 @ 12:10 am.
Charge:  Driving While Intoxicated 1st Offense

   Officers responded to a local business on Hwy 182 in regards to a vehicle crash in the parking lot. The driver of one of the vehicles was identified as Mary Sharp. Reports indicate that Sharp appeared intoxicated. Sharp was asked to perform the Standardized Field Sobriety, in which she performed poorly.  Sharp was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department. Once at the police department, Sharp submitted to the chemical test for intoxication. Sharp's results were .186 g% blood alcohol content. Sharp was booked and incarcerated.

Lucius Romero, 42 years of age, Address- North Third St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 10/02/2017 @ 4:25 pm.

Crystal Thompson, 39 years of age,  Address-Fifth St.  Morgan City, La. was arrested on 10/02/2017 @ 4:25 pm.

Charge:  Possession with Intent to Distribute Sch II CDS- Methamphetamine
                 Possession of Sch II CDS- Hydrocodone
                 Possession of Sch IV CDS -  Xanax
                 Violation of Uniform CDS – Drug-Free Zone

   The Morgan City Police Department Narcotics Division along with the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Investigators executed a search warrant at a North Third St. residence. Officers made contact with two individuals inside the residence Lucius Romero and Crystal Thompson. During the course of the investigation, Romero was found to be in possession of suspected methamphetamine.  Thompson was also in possession of suspected methamphetamine that was packaged for sale and pills identified as hydrocodone and Xanax for which she did not have a prescription. Items used to smoke illegal narcotics were also found in the residence.  The residence is within 2000 feet of an elementary school which is considered a drug-free zone.  Both Romero and Thompson were placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.


Troxey V. Bullock, 40 years of age, Address-First St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 10/03/2017 @ 12:09 am.

Charge:  No Driver’s License
                 Speeding
                 Flight from an Officer
                 Open Container

   A patrol officer observed a vehicle in the area of Third St and Railroad Ave. traveling a speed higher than what was posted. According to reports, the officer activated lights and sirens, but the vehicle continued traveling. The vehicle eventually stopped at a residence on First St. The driver identified as Troxey Bullock was asked to exit the vehicle.  Bullock was found not to have a valid driver’s license. Officers also located an open container of alcohol inside the vehicle. Bullock was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.

Drug Paraphernalia Seized at Local Hwy 182 Convenience Store

Hapreet Singh, 37 years of age, address: Roderick St. Morgan City, La., arrested on 09/29/2017 @ 2:26 p.m.

Charges: Warrant: Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

Within the past few months, investigators with the Morgan City Police Department Narcotics Division began an investigation into the sales of drug paraphernalia from a convenience store located at 7028 Hwy 182 in Morgan City, LA. During the course of the investigation, Hapreet Singh was developed as a suspect. Evidence was uncovered that Singh was involved in the distribution of different types of paraphernalia used for the consumption of illicit narcotics. Such activity poses a risk to our communities and our children by enabling those who suffer from substance abuse issues. During the investigation, a warrant for Singh's arrest was obtained along with a search warrant for the business. On Friday, September 29, 2017, the search warrant was executed at the business where several items of drug paraphernalia were seized. Singh was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated. The investigation is still ongoing as the Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco Control will be contacted.

Patrol officers observed a vehicle being operated in the area of Onstead St. with improper equipment. A stop was initiated and Casey Chenevert was identified as the operator of the vehicle. Dearius D. Kenner was identified as an occupant. According to reports. Kenner and Chenevert were found to be in possession of suspected Marijuana, Tramadol, Alprazolam, and Drug Paraphernalia. A firearm with obliterated serial numbers was also located. Evidence was uncovered linking Kenner and Chenevert to the items located and that the illicit drugs were destined to be sold. Officers also located $1,588 dollars in U.S. Currency and evidence was found that it was derived from drug transactions. Kenner and Chenevert were arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where they were booked and incarcerated.

MCPD Arrest Report 10/02/2017

Chief James F. Blair reports that over the last 72-hour reporting period the Morgan City Police Department responded to 69 calls for service. The following persons were arrested as a result beginning on 09/29/2017:

Gail E. Renthrope, 61 years of age, address: Rue Royale St. Lafayette, La., arrested on 09/29/2017 @ 9:40 a.m.

Charges: Entry or Remaining After Being Forbidden

Patrol officers responded to the area of Mallard St. in regards to Gail Renthope being on the property. Officers arrived and Renthrope was located within housing areas. Renthrope was barred from entering onto the property. Renthrope was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where she was booked and incarcerated.

Steve Scully, 51 years of age, address: Main St. Patterson, La., arrested on 09/29/2017 @ 12:10 p.m.

Steve Scully was located and arrested at the Morgan City Police Department on active arrest warrants held by the 6th Ward Morgan City Court. Scully was booked into the Morgan City Jail and incarcerated.

Wayne Demarco Jr., 28 years of age, address: Everett St. Morgan City, La., arrested on 09/29/2017 @ 2:00 p.m.

Charges: Domestic Abuse Battery
                 False Imprisonment

Patrol officers responded to the area of Everett St. in regards to a Domestic Disturbance. Officers arrived and Wayne Demarco Jr. was found to be one of the subjects involved in the disturbance. According to reports, Demarco Jr. allegedly struck the victim and held them within the residence. Demarco Jr. was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

                 Possession of SCH IV CDS (Alprazolam)
                 Distribution of SCH II CDS (Methamphetamine)

Patrol officers responded to a residence in the area of Florence St. in regards to a narcotics complaint. Officers arrived and according to reports, Mandi Hatfield was identified in the investigation. Hatfield was found to be in possession of suspected Methamphetamine and Drug Paraphernalia. Hatfield was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where she was booked and incarcerated. Later patrol officers responded to the Morgan City Jail in regards to a narcotics investigation. Officers arrived and Hatfield was once again identified as a suspected in the investigation. Allegedly Hatfield had entered into the jail facility with illicit drugs. She was found to be in possession of suspected Suboxone, Alprazolam, and Methamphetamine. It was also learned that Hatfield had distributed suspected Methamphetamine to another inmate. Evidence was uncovered linking Hatfield to the crime. Hatfield was additionally charged and incarcerated into the Morgan City Jail.

Eddie Anslum, 27 years of age, address: Brashear Ave. Morgan City, La., arrested on 09/29/2017 @ 2:28 p.m.

Charges: Warrant: Possession of Marijuana
                 Warrant: Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

Eddie Anslum was located and arrested at the Morgan City Police Department on active arrest warrants held by the Morgan City Police. The warrant stems from an investigation conducted by the Morgan City Police Department Narcotics Division on September 3, 2017, when investigators came in contact with Anslum while handling a complaint. According to reports, Anslum was found to be in possession of suspected marijuana and drug paraphernalia. The investigation continued and warrants were prepared for Anslum’s arrest. Anslum was booked into the Morgan City Jail and incarcerated.

Alonzo R. Gant III, 24 years of age, address: West St. Jennings, La., arrested on 09/29/2017 @ 8:23 p.m.

                 Improper Turning

Patrol officers observed a vehicle being operated in the area of LA 182 negotiate and improper turn. A stop was initiated and Alonzo R. Gant was identified as the operator of the vehicle. Andre Gant was found to be a passenger. According to reports, Andre Gant was found to be in possession of suspected marijuana and Alonzo Gant was found to be in possession of suspected Synthetic Cannabinoids. They were arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where they were booked and incarcerated.

Richard T. Junkin IV, 25 years of age, address: Elm St. Morgan City, La., arrested on 09/30/2017 @ 4:27 a.m.

                  Improper Lane Usage

Patrol officers observed a vehicle being operated in the area of LA 182 swerving from lane to lane.  A stop was initiated and Richard T. Junkin IV was identified as the operator of the vehicle. According to reports, Junkin was found to be in an intoxicated state. Junkin performed poorly on Standardized Field Sobriety Test. Junkin was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail for chemical testing. Junkin refused to submit to the chemical test. Junkin was booked into the Morgan City Jail and incarcerated.

Daniel Johnson, 28 years of age, address: Seventh St. Morgan City, La., arrested on 09/30/2017 @ 9:00 a.m.

Charges: Disturbing the Peace Intoxicated

Patrol officers responded to the area of Seventh St. in regards to a suspicious subject. Officers arrived and Daniel Johnson was identified. According to reports, Johnson was found to be in an intoxicated state. Johnson was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

Peter E. Grogan Jr., 39 years of age, address: Railroad Ave. Morgan City, La., arrested on 09/30/2017 @ 2:27 p.m.  

Charges: Theft under $1,000
                 Criminal Trespassing 

Patrol officers responded to the area of Florida St. in regards to a theft. Officers arrived and Peter Grogan was identified as a suspect in a theft. According to reports, evidence was uncovered linking Grogan to the theft and that he trespassed on the victims' property. Grogan was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

                 Criminal Damage to Property

Patrol officers responded to the residence in the area of Oak St. in regards to a disturbance. According to reports, officers arrived and Troy A. Hughes was identified as one of the subjects involved in the disturbance. Allegedly Hughes struck the victim in the presence of a juvenile and damaged property belonging to the victim. Hughes was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

George L. Adair Jr., 44 years of age, address: School Ln. Thibodaux, La., arrested on 10/01/2017 @ 10:19 p.m.

                 Registration Required

Patrol officers observed a vehicle in the area of LA 70 which had a license plate displayed that was registered to another. A stop was initiated and George L. Adair Jr. was identified as the operator of the vehicle. According to reports, Adair Jr. Louisiana Driver’s License was found to be under suspension and the vehicle he was operating did not have proper insurance as required by Louisiana Law or the required registration. Adair Jr. was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

Timothy Collier, 18 years of age, address: Honey Ln. Morgan City, La., arrested on 09/28/2017 @ 11:57 a.m.

Charges: Warrant: F.T.A. for Arraignment on 08/29/2017

Timothy Collier was located and arrested at the Morgan City Police Department on an active warrant for his arrest through the 6th Ward Morgan City Court. Collier was booked into the Morgan City Jail and incarcerated.

Therina L. Russell, 42 years of age, address: Duke St. Morgan City, La., arrested on 09/28/2017 @ 1:03 p.m.

Charges: Disturbing the Peace Intoxicated

Patrol officers responded to the area of LA 70 in regards to a suspicious person. According to reports, officers arrived and Therina L. Russell was identified as the subject. Russell was found to be in an intoxicated state. Russell was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where she was booked and incarcerated.

Leanna R. Gresco was located and arrested in the area of US 90 on an active arrest warrant held by the 6th Ward Morgan City Court. Gresco was transported to the Morgan City Jail where she was booked and incarcerated.

Joel Claudio-Deleon, 40 years of age, address: Grizzaffi St. Morgan City, La., arrested on 09/28/2017 @ 8:34 p.m.

Joel Claudio-Deleon was located and arrested in the area of LA 182 on an active arrest warrant held by the 16th Judicial Court. Claudio-Deleon was transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

Chief James F. Blair reports that over the last 24-hour reporting period the Morgan City Police Department responded to 44 calls for service. The following persons were arrested as a result beginning on 09/27/2017:

Tonisheka M. Davis, 34 years of age, address: Robin St. Morgan City, La., arrested on 09/27/2017 @ 12:21 p.m.

Charges: Warrant: F.T.A. to Pay Probation Fee on 06/06/2017
                 Improper Supervision of a Minor by a Parent (2 counts)
                 Contributing to the Delinquency of a Juvenile

According to reports, during court proceedings, it was found that Tonisheka M. Davis allegedly improperly supervised her minor child and contributed to their delinquency. Davis also held an active warrant for her arrest through the 6th Ward Morgan City Court. Davis was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where she was booked and incarcerated.

Jerry L. Percle Jr., 49 years of age, address: Tower Tank Rd. Morgan City, La., arrested on 09/27/2017 @ 1:15 p.m.

Charges: Warrant: Entry on or Remaining After Being Forbidden

Jerry L. Percle Jr. was located and arrested at the Morgan City Police Department on an active arrest warrant held by the Morgan City Police. The warrant stems from an investigation conducted by patrol officers on August 3, 2017, when Percle allegedly went onto the property of a local business in Morgan City after being barred from the property. Percle had already left the premises, therefore, a warrant was prepared for his arrest. Percle was booked into the Morgan City Jail and incarcerated.

Kimberly R. Harris, 45 years of age, address: Levee Rd. Morgan City, La., arrested on 09/27/2017 @ 1:50 p.m.

Charges: Warrant: F.T.A. for Sentence Hearing

Kimberly R. Harris was located and arrested in the area of Federal Ave. on an active arrest warrant held by the 16th Judicial Court. Harris was transported to the Morgan City Jail where she was booked and incarcerated.

Melissa L. Pool, 42 years of age, address: Arizona St. Morgan City, La., arrested on 09/27/2017 @ 7:31 p.m.

Charges: Warrant: Disturbing the Peace by Fistic Encounters

Melissa L. Pool was located and arrested in the area of LA 182 on an active arrest warrant held by the Morgan City Police. The warrant stems from an investigation conducted by patrol officers on July 8, 2017 when Pool was allegedly involved in a fistic encounter. Warrants were prepared for her arrest. Pool was booked into the Morgan City Jail where she was booked and incarcerated.

Anslemo Martinez, 46 years of age, address: South Railroad Ave. Morgan City, La., arrested on 09/27/2017 @ 7:52 p.m.

Charges: No Driver’s License
                 Following Vehicles Too Close

Patrol officers observed a vehicle in the area of LA 182 following another vehicle too close. A stop was initiated and Anslemo Martinez was identified as the operator of the vehicle. It was found that Martinez did not possess a valid Louisiana Driver’s License. Martinez was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.
