Chief James F. Blair reports that over the last 24-hour reporting period the Morgan City Police Department responded to 41 calls for service. The following persons were arrested as a result beginning on 09/14/2017:

Desmond J. Richard, 36 years of age, address: Mike Dr. Patterson, La., arrested on 09/14/2017 @ 3:30 p.m.

Charges: Warrant: F.T.A. to Pay Fine on 07/25/2017 (3 Counts)
                 Warrant: Probation Violation

Desmond J. Richard was located and arrested at the Morgan City Police Department on active arrest warrants held by the 6th Ward Morgan City Court. Richard was booked into the Morgan City Jail and incarcerated.

Rolando Villalobos, 77 years of age, address: South Verett St. Amelia, La., arrested on 09/14/2017 @ 6:57 p.m.

Charges: Possession of SCH I CDS (Synthetic Marijuana)

Michelle R. Ashley, 48 years of age, address: South Verett St. Amelia, La., arrested on 09/14/2017 @ 6:57 p.m.

Investigators with the Morgan City Police Department Narcotics Division observed a vehicle negotiate an improper turn in the area of LA 182. A stop was initiated and Michelle R. Ashley was identified as the operator of the vehicle. Rolando Villalobos was identified as an occupant. According to reports, Villalobos and Ashley were found to be in possession of suspected synthetic marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Villalobos and Ashley were arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where they were booked and incarcerated.

Jarvis D. Granger, 31 years of age, address: Hwy 182 Morgan City, La., arrested on 09/14/2017 @ 8:15 p.m.

Investigators with the Morgan City Police Department Narcotics Division executed a search warrant at a local Motel in the area of LA 182. Jarvis D. Granger was developed as a suspect and according to reports; investigators located suspected Synthetic Marijuana, Marijuana, Cocaine, Methamphetamine, and Drug Paraphernalia. Granger attempted to destroy evidence during the investigation. Evidence was uncovered linking Granger to the crime and that the illicit drugs were destined to be sold. Granger was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

Luis Garcia, 33 years of age, address: Willow St. Morgan City, La., arrested on 09/14/2017 @ 11:34 p.m.

Charges: Driving while Intoxicated 1st Offense 
                 No Driver’s License
                 No Insurance
                 Improper Turning

Patrol officers observed a vehicle being operated in the area of Bush St. negotiate an improper turn. A stop was initiated and Luis Garcia was identified as the operator of the vehicle. The vehicle that Garcia was operating was found not to possess valid insurance as required by Louisiana Law and Garcia did not possess a valid driver’s license. According to reports, Garcia was found to be in an intoxicated state. Garcia performed poorly on Standardized Field Sobriety Test. Evidence was uncovered that Garcia may be under the influence of prescription medication. Garcia was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail for Chemical Test. Garcia submitted to Chemical Test resulting in .000g% blood alcohol content. Garcia refused to submit to blood analysis, therefore, a search warrant was obtained. Chemical testing of the sample is pending. Garcia was booked into the Morgan City Jail and incarcerated.

Lantrell Ayers, 26 years of age, address: Mallard St. Morgan City, La., arrested on 09/14/2017 @ 9:06 p.m.

Patrol officers observed a vehicle being operated in the area of LA 182 negotiate an improper turn. A stop was initiated and Lantrell Ayers was later identified. According to reports, Ayers provided officers with a false name. Ayres Louisiana Driver’s License was found to be under suspension. Ayers was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

MCPD Detectives make arrest in Theft Investigation

Ludger C. Couvillion 09132017

Ludger C. Couvillion, 35 years of age, address: Mike Dr. Morgan City, La., arrested on 09/13/2017 @ 10:17 a.m.

Charges: Warrant: Theft over $25,000
                 Warrant: Unlawful Production of Fraudulent Documents

On November 15, 2016, investigators with the Morgan City Police Department Detectives Division began an investigation into improprieties at a local business in the Morgan City Area. During the course of the investigation, Ludger C. Couvillion was identified as a suspect. Evidence was uncovered linking Couvillion to the theft of $164,054.97 from the business. It was also found during the investigation that Couvillion allegedly fabricated fraudulent documents in connection with the theft.  Warrants were prepared for Couvillion’s arrest. On September 13, 2017, Couvillion was arrested at the Morgan City Police Department on the active warrants. Couvillion was booked into the Morgan City Jail and incarcerated.

Chief James F. Blair reports that over the last 24-hour reporting period the Morgan City Police Department responded to 34 calls for service. The following persons were arrested as a result beginning on 09/11/2017:

Angel Perez, 48 years of age, address: Elizabeth St. Houma, La., arrested on 09/11/2017 @ 12:00 a.m.

Patrol officers observed a vehicle being operated in the area of LA 182 swerving from lane to lane. A stop was initiated and Angel Perez was later identified as the operator of the vehicle. Perez provided officers with a false name initially. According to reports, it was found during the investigation that the vehicle Perez was operating has no insurance or inspection as required by Louisiana Law and Perez was found not to possess a valid Louisiana Driver’s License. Perez was arrested and transorted to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

Jerri L. Champine-Dufren, 33 years of age, address: Bush St. Morgan City, La., arrested on 09/11/2017 @ 8:07 a.m.

                 Warrant: Theft by Shoplifting

Patrol officers responded to a residence in the area of Onstead St. in regards to Jerri L. Champine-Dufren holding active warrants for her arrest through the Morgan City Police. Officers arrived at the residence and located Champine-Dufren. According to reports, Champine-Dufren was found to be in possession of suspected Methamphetamine, Alprazolam, Marijuana, and Drug Paraphernalia. There was a juvenile located at the residence during the investigation. The warrant stems from an investigation conducted by patrol officers on September 1, 2017, when officers responded to a local business in the area of LA 70 in regards to a shoplifter. Reports indicate that Champine-Dufren allegedly switched bar codes from cheaper items and placed them on more expensive ones. When confronted by management Champine-Dufren fled the scene with the items. Champine-Dufren was identified as a suspect and evidence was uncovered linking her to the crime. Warrants were prepared for Champine-Dufren’s arrest. Champine-Dufren was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where she was booked and incarcerated.

Heather D. LaCoste, 33 years of age, address: Marshall St. Morgan City, La., arrested on 09/11/2017 @ 3:58 p.m.

Charges:  Warrant: F.T.A. to Pay Fine on 08/29/2017 (4 Counts)

Heather D. LaCoste was located and arrested at the Lafayette Parish Detention Center on active arrest warrants held by the 6th Ward Morgan City Court. LaCoste was transported to the Morgan City Jail where she was booked and incarcerated.

Cregory L. Johnson, 25 years of age, address: Egle Mill Ln. Morgan City, La., arrested on 09/11/2017 @ 5:24 p.m.

Charges: Disturbing the Peace Intoxicated
                 Resisting an Officer

Patrol officers responded to the area of Brashear Ave. in regards to a suspicious subject. According to reports, officers arrived and Cregory L. Johnson was located sleeping on a porch of a residence. Johnson was found to be in an intoxicated state. After receiving medical attention Johnson was arrested. Reports indicate that Johnson resisted officers when he refused to enter the patrol car for transport. Johnson was eventually placed in the unit at which time he was transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

Ashley Clark 09112017

Ashley Clark, 39 years of age, address: Seventh St. Morgan City, La., arrested on 09/11/2017 @ 5:48 p.m.

Charges: Warrant: Theft by Shoplifting
                 Warrant: Resisting an Officer

Ashley Clark was located and arrested in the area of Orange St. on active arrest warrants held by the Morgan City Police. The warrants stem from an investigation conducted by patrol officers on July 3, 2016, when they responded to a local business in the area of LA 182 in regards to a shoplifter. According to reports, Ashley Clark was identified as the suspect and evidence was uncovered linking her to the crime. Clark allegedly took several items from the business without paying for them. Officers attempted to make contact with Clark but when approached she fled the area on foot. Warrants were prepared for her arrest. Clark was transported to the Morgan City Jail where she was booked and incarcerated.

Erica Boudreaux, 29 years of age, address: Grizzaffi St. Morgan City, La., arrested on 09/13/2017 @ 11:03 a.m.

Erica Boudreaux was located and arrested at the Morgan City Police Department on active arrest warrants held by the Morgan City Police. The warrants stem from an investigation conducted by patrol officers on September 7, 2017, when officers responded to the area of Glenwood St. in regards to a disturbance. According to reports, Erica Boudreaux was identified as the subject causing the disturbance and had been instructed once before not to return to the premises. Boudreaux had already left the area, therefore, warrants were prepared for her arrest. Boudreaux was booked into the Morgan City Jail and incarcerated.

Ryan Delahoussaye, 23 years of age, address: Leona St. Morgan City, La., arrested on 09/13/2017 @ 7:56 p.m.

Patrol officers observed a vehicle being operated in the area of Florida Alley traveling the wrong way on the one way roadway. According to reports, a stop was initiated and Ryan Delahoussaye was identified as the operator of the vehicle. Delahoussaye was found to be in possession of suspected marijuana. There was also a juvenile in the vehicle. The area were the incident had taken place was within a Drug Free Zone. Delahoussaye was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

Creig M. Jacquneaux was located and arrested at the Lafayette Parish Detention Center on active arrest warrants held by the 6th Ward Morgan City Court. Jacquneaux was transported to the Morgan City Jail where she was booked and incarcerated.

Patrol officers responded to the area of Mallard St. in regards to a fistic encounter in the street. Officers arrived and according to reports, Colbianta F. Spain, Lakatha M. Jackson, Lyneesha L. Jackson, and two juveniles were identified as suspects in the altercation. Reports indicate that a fistic encounter occurred between Spain and Lakatha Jackson while Lyneesha L. Jackson and the two juveniles were identified as causing a disturbance using profanity. Spain, Lakatha Jackson, and Lyneesha Jackson were arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where they were booked and incarcerated. The two juveniles were also arrested and booked and released to their guardians.

Maria S. Castro, 45 years of age, address: Second St. Morgan City, La., arrested on 09/12/2017 @ 7:08 p.m.

                 Theft under $1,000

Patrol officers responded to a residence in the area of Filmore St. in regards to a disturbance. According to reports, Maria S. Castro was identified as a suspect in the altercation. Allegedly Castro was engaged in an argument with the victim and during the altercation grabbed a necklace and pendant from around the victim’s neck and fled the area. Castro was located a short time later in the area of Second St. where evidence was uncovered linking her to the crime. Castro was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where she was booked and incarcerated.

Carroll Guidry, 68 years of age, address: Mallard St. Morgan City, La., arrested on 09/12/2017 @ 7:58 p.m.

Patrol officers responded to the area of Front St. in regards to a suspicious subject. Officers arrived and Carroll Guidry was identified. According to reports, Guidry was found to be in an intoxicated state. Guidry was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

Ezequiel Vazquez-Diaz, 29 years of age, address: Safie Six St. Rockingham, NC, arrested on 09/12/2017 @ 11:32 p.m.

Patrol officers responded to a local business in the area of LA 182 in regards to a suspicious subject sleeping in a vehicle in the parking lot. Officers arrived and Ezequiel Vazquez-Diaz found to be sleeping in control of the vehicle. According to reports, Vazquez-Diaz was found to be in an intoxicated state. Vazquez-Diaz performed poorly on Standardized Field Sobriety Test. Reports indicate that Vazquez-Diaz did not possess a valid driver’s license and was in possession of an open container in the motor vehicle. Vazquez-Diaz was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail for Chemical Test. Vazquez-Diaz submitted to Chemical Test registering .227g% blood alcoholic content. Vazquez-Diaz was booked into the Morgan City Jail and incarcerated.

Timothy A. Pojar, 37 years of age, address: Federal Ave. Morgan City, La., arrested on 09/13/2017 @ 12:40 a.m.

Charges: Warrant: F.T.A. for Revocation on 05/11/2017

Timothy A. Pojar was located and arrested in the area of LA 70 on an active arrest warrant held by the 16th Judicial Court. Pojar was transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

Chief James F. Blair reports that over the last 72-hour reporting period the Morgan City Police Department responded to 110 calls for service. The following persons were arrested as a result beginning on 09/08/2017:

Umeki Jamison, 38 years of age, address: East Little Texas Rd. Napoleonville, La., arrested on 09/08/2017 @ 7:30 a.m.

Charges: Simple Battery

Correctional officers with the Morgan City Jail responded to one of the cell blocks in regards to a disturbance. According to reports, Umeki Jamison was identified as one of the subjects involved in the disturbance. Jamison allegedly struck another inmate during the disturbance. Jamison was booked into the Morgan City Jail and incarcerated.

Barbara L. Fraley, 52 years of age, address: Delmar Ave. Morgan City, La., arrested on 09/08/2017 @ 11:13 a.m.

Patrol officers observed a vehicle being operated in the area of Federal Avenue and the operator was not properly restrained. A stop was initiated and Barbara L. Fraley was identified as the operator of the vehicle. It was learned that Fraley’s Louisiana Driver’s License was under suspension. Fraley was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where she was booked and incarcerated.

Patrol officers observed a vehicle in the area of Federal Ave. and the operator was not properly restrained. A stop was initiated and Jim Businelle was identified as the operator of the vehicle. According to the reports, the vehicle was found not to have proper insurance as required by Louisiana Law and the vehicle’s license plate belonged to another vehicle. Reports indicate that Businelle allegedly admitted to taking the license plate off another vehicle not belonging to him and placing it on his. Businelle was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

Courtland Fullwood, 29 years of age, address: Park Rd. Morgan City, La., arrested on 09/08/2017 @ 7:58 p.m.

                 Domestic Abuse-Child Endangerment Law

Patrol officers responded to a residence in the area of Park Rd. in regards to a domestic disturbance. According to reports, officers arrived and Courtland Fullwood was identified as one of the subjects involved in the disturbance. Reports indicate that Fullwood allegedly struck the victim several times and at one point began to choke them. The domestic disturbance took place in the presence of small children inside of the residence. Fullwood was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

Patrol officers observed a vehicle being operated in the area of LA 182 with improper lighting. A stop was initiated and Thomas McNally was identified as the operator of the vehicle. According to reports, McNally’s Louisiana Driver’s License was found to be under suspension and the vehicle he was operating did not have proper insurance as required by Louisiana Law. McNally was also found to hold an active warrant for his arrest through the 16th Judicial Court. McNally was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

Passion M. Harris, 20 years of age, address: Greenwood St. Morgan City, La., arrested on 09/08/2017 @ 11:08 p.m.

                 Warrant: F.T.A. for Arraignment on 06/12/2017

Patrol officers observed a vehicle being operated in the area of LA 182 with improper lighting. A stop was initiated and Trinity Harris was eventually identified as the operator of the vehicle. Reports indicate that Trinity Harris provided officers a false name during the investigation. Deondre Parker and Passion M. Harris were also identified as occupants in the vehicle. According to reports, the trio was found to be in possession of suspected marijuana. The vehicle was not to have proper registration or inspection as required by Louisiana Law and Trinity Harris did not possess a valid Louisiana Driver’s License. Passion Harris was found to hold an active warrant for her arrest through the 16th Judicial Court. Trinity Harris was also found to hold an active warrant for her arrest through the Morgan City Police. The warrant for Trinity Harris stems from an investigation conducted by patrol officers on August 19, 2017 when the responded to the area of Orange St. in regards to a crash. According to reports, Trinity Harris was identified as the operator of the vehicle involved and that she did not possess a valid Louisiana Driver’s License and the vehicle she was operating was not have proper insurance as required by Louisiana Law. Evidence was also uncovered placing Trinity Harris at fault in the crash. The investigation continued and warrants were prepared for Trinity Harris’ arrest. Trinity Harris, Deondre J. Parker, and Passion M. Harris were transported to the Morgan City Jail where they were booked and incarcerated.

James P. Lacosse, 40 years of age, address: Hwy 1012, Napoleonville, La., arrested on 09/09/2017 @ 3:20 a.m.

Patrol officers observed a vehicle being operated in the area of LA 182 negotiate and improper turn and being operated in an erratic manner. A stop was initiated and James P. Lacosse was identified as the operator of the vehicle. According reports, Lacosse was found to be in an intoxicated state. Lacosse performed poorly on Standardized Field Sobriety Test and he was found to be in possession of an open alcoholic beverage in the vehicle. Lacosse was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail for Chemical Testing which he submitted to registering .145g% blood alcohol content. Lacosse was booked into the Morgan City Jail and incarcerated.

Orrando M. Guidry, 46 years of age, address: Florida St. Morgan City, La., arrested on 09/09/2017 @ 8:45 a.m.

Charges: Warrant: F.T.A. to Pay Fine on 06/27/2017 (2 counts)

Orrando M. Guidry was located and arrested in the area of Railroad Ave. on active arrest warrants held by the 6th Ward Morgan City Court. Guidry was transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

Patrol officers observed a vehicle being operated in the area of LA 182 negotiate and improper turn. A stop was initiated and Elzie R. Miller Jr. was identified as the operator of the vehicle. It found that Miller’s Louisiana Driver’s License was under suspension and the vehicle he was operating had a license plate belonging to another vehicle. It was also found that the vehicle Miller was operating did not have proper insurance as required by Louisiana Law. Miller was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

Charles M. Bonnette Jr., 34 years of age, address: Railroad Ave. Morgan City, La., arrested on 09/10/2017 @ 1:41 a.m.

Patrol officers observed a vehicle being operated in the area of Railroad Ave. that was swerving from lane to lane. A stop was initiated and Charles M. Bonnette Jr. was identified as the operator of the vehicle. According to reports,  Bonnette was found to be in an intoxicated state. Bonnette performed poorly on Standardized Field Sobriety Test and the vehicle’s license plate was expired. It was also learned that Bonnette’s Louisiana Driver’s License was found to be expired. Bonnette was arrested and transported Morgan City Jail for Chemical Test. Bonnette submitted to test which registered .243g% blood alcohol content. Bonnette was booked into the Morgan City Jail and incarcerated.

Jaye Bliss, 28 years of age, address: Watkins St. Berwick, La., arrested on 09/10/2017 @ 10:55 p.m.

Charges: Warrant: F.T.A. to Pay Fine on 08/29/2017

Jaye Bliss was located and arrested at the Morgan City Police Department on active arrest warrants held by the 6th Ward Morgan City Court. Bliss was booked into the Morgan City Jail and incarcerated.

Courtney L. Green, 19 years of age, address: East Willow St. Lafayette, La., arrested on 09/11/2017 @ 2:48 a.m.

Charges: Driving under Suspension

                 Speeding 57 mph in a 35 mph zone

Patrol officers observed a vehicle traveling 57 mph in a 35 mph zone in the area of LA 182. A stop was initiated and Courtney L. Green was identified as the operator of the vehicle. Green’s Louisiana Driver’s License was found to be under suspension the vehicle she was operating was found not to possess valid insurance as required by Louisiana Law. Green was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where she was booked and incarcerated.

Myles Morgan, 29 years of age, address: Front St. Morgan City, La., arrested on 09/11/2017
@ 4:34 a.m.

Charges: Criminal Mischief

Patrol officers responded to a residence in the area of Front St. due to several 911 calls throughout the night. According to reports, Morgan was identified as the subject placing those calls and continued to do so for non emergency purposes. Morgan was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.
