MCPD Narcotics Division Locate Cocaine and Money on Search Warrant

Joseph R. Davis, 58 years of age, address: Leona St. Morgan City, La., arrested on 09/26/2017 @ 4:35 p.m. 

Charges: Possession of Cocaine W/I/T/D
                 Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
                 Transaction involving Proceeds from Drug Activity                 
                 Violation of Uniform CDS Law (Drug-Free Zone)

Investigators with the Morgan City Police Department Narcotics Division executed a search warrant at a residence on Leona St. Investigators located suspected Crack Cocaine, $2831 dollars in U.S. Currency and Drug Paraphernalia. Evidence was uncovered linking Joseph R. Davis to the suspected Crack Cocaine and that it was destined to be sold. Evidence was also uncovered that the U.S. Currency located was derived from the illicit sales of illegal narcotics. The area where this incident had taken place was within a Drug-Free Zone. Davis was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

MCPD Arrest Report 09/26/2017

Chief James F. Blair reports that over the last 24-hour reporting period the Morgan City Police Department responded to 40 calls for service. The following persons were arrested as a result beginning on 09/25/2017:

Jonathan Borne 09252017

Jonathan M. Borne, 35 years of age, address: Borne Ln., Centerville, La., arrested on 09/25/2017 @ 9:23 a.m.

Charges: Warrant: Theft of a Motor Vehicle

Jonathan M. Borne was located and arrested at the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center on an active arrest warrant held by the Morgan City Police. The warrant stems from an investigation conducted by patrol officers on August 10, 2017, in regards to the theft of a motor vehicle in the area of LA 70. According to reports, Jonathan M. Borne was identified as a suspect. Borne was located in the vehicle a short time later by the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Department and arrested for possession of the stolen vehicle. Warrants were prepared for Borne’s arrest in regard to the investigation. Borne was transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

Kristie L. Bourg, 40 years of age, address: Bankers Ct. Pierre Part, La., arrested on 09/25/2017 @ 2:02 p.m.

Charges: Theft by Shoplifting

Patrol officers responded to a local business in the area of LA 182 in regards to a shoplifter. According to reports, Kristie L. Bourg was developed as a suspect and allegedly had taken merchandise valued @ $69.66 without paying for it. Bourg was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where she was booked and incarcerated.

Brent Meads, 27 years of age, address: Louise St. Thibodeaux, La., arrested on 09/25/2017 @ 9:55 p.m.

Charges: Possession of Marijuana
                 Driving under Suspension
                 Improper Turning

Investigators with the Morgan City Police Department Narcotics Division observed a vehicle being operated in the area of Railroad Ave. negotiate an improper turn. A stop was initiated and Brent Meads was identified as the operator of the vehicle. Investigators detected an odor of marijuana emitting from the vehicle. The Morgan City Police Department K-9 Division arrived on scene at which time K-9 Lady showed odor response to the presence of narcotic odor. Suspected marijuana was located during the search of the vehicle. It was also learned that Meads’ Louisiana Driver’s License was under suspension. Meads was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

Craig Washington, 33 years of age, address: Hwy 749 Opelousas, La., arrested on 09/26/2017 @ 1:12 a.m.

Charges: Disturbing the Peace

Patrol officers responded to the area of Willard St. in regards to a disturbance. According to reports, officers arrived and Craig Washington was identified one of the subjects involved. Washington allegedly went to the residence of the victim and began banging on the door using profanity. Washington was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

Bobbie Vanbrocklin, 48 years of age, address: Evergreen St. Morgan City, La., arrested on 09/26/2017 @ 3:25 a.m.

Charges: Driving while Intoxicated 1st Offense
                 Improper Turning

Patrol officers observed a vehicle being operated in the area of LA 182 negotiate and improper turn. A stop was initiated and Bobbie Vanbrocklin was identified as the operator of the vehicle. Vanbrocklin was found to be in an intoxicated state. Vanbrocklin performed poorly on Standardized Field Sobriety Test. Vanbrocklin was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail for Chemical Testing. Upon arrival to the Morgan City Jail Vanbrocklin refused the chemical test. Vanbrocklin was booked into the Morgan City Jail and incarcerated.

MCPD Arrest Patterson Men for Shooting Victims with BB Guns in Lakeside

Dontray Nicolas, 18 years of age, address: Tall Timbers Patterson, La., arrested on 09/24/2017 @ 9:41 p.m.

Patrol officers responded to the area of Chestnut Dr. in regards to subjects being shot with possible BB Guns. Officers arrived and according to reports, a description of a vehicle was obtained that had left the area. A vehicle fitting that description was located in the area a short time later and a stop was initiated. Reginald J. Talver and Dontray Nicolas were identified as occupants in the vehicle. Reports indicate that officers located a BB Gun, Mask, and BB’s in the vehicle. Talver and Nicolas allegedly admitted to shooting the BB Guns out of the window of the vehicle in Lakeside. They admitted to throwing one of the BB Gun’s out of the vehicle when seeing police which was located in the area of LA 182. Four victims were identified being shot with the BB Guns and all four sought medical attention. It was also learned during the investigation that the subjects allegedly damaged a vehicle by shooting it. Talver and Nicolas were both arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where they were booked and incarcerated.

Lakisa M. Hayes, 30 years of age, address: Federal Ave Morgan City, La., arrested on 09/26/2017 @ 7:46 a.m.

Charges: Disturbing the Peace

Patrol officers responded to Federal Ave. in regards to a disturbance. According to reports, officers arrived and Lakisa M. Hayes was identified as the subject allegedly causing the disturbance. After speaking with witnesses Hayes was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where she was booked and incarcerated.

Christian A. Brown, 39 years of age, address: Mark St. Pierre Part, La., arrested on 09/26/2017 @ 2:39 p.m.

Christian A. Brown was located and arrested at the Morgan City Police Department on an active arrest warrant held by the 6th Ward Morgan City Court. Brown was booked into the Morgan City Jail and incarcerated.

Carl Allen Jr. was located and arrested at the Morgan City Police Department on an active arrest warrant held by the 6th Ward Morgan City Court. Allen was booked into the Morgan City Jail and incarcerated.

Patrol officers observed a vehicle negotiate an improper turn in the area of LA 182. A stop was initiated and Olivia R. Prado was identified as an occupant of the vehicle. According to reports, Prado was found to be in possession of suspected Methamphetamine and Drug Paraphernalia. Prado was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where she was booked and incarcerated.

Brian K. Robertson, 22 years of age, address: Sixth St. Morgan City, La., arrested on 09/26/2017 @ 11:47 p.m.

Patrol officers observed a vehicle fail to stop at a stop sign in the area of LA 70. It was also observed that the vehicle was swerving from lane to lane. A stop was initiated and Brian K. Robertson was identified as the operator of the vehicle. According to reports, Robertson was found to be in possession of suspected Synthetic Marijuana. Robertson was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

Trey A. Renthrop was located and arrested in the area of Federal Ave. on active arrest warrants held by the 6th Ward Morgan City Court and Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office. Renthrop was transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

Sydney V. Bassa, 22 years of age, address: Chestnut Dr. Morgan City, La., arrested on 09/22/2017 @ 5:32 p.m.

Patrol officers responded to the area of Roderick St. in regards to a vehicle being operated in an erratic manner. According to reports, officers arrived and located a vehicle fitting the description in the area. A stop was initiated and Sydney V. Bassa was identified as the operator of the vehicle. Bassa was found to be in possession of suspected Synthetic Marijuana, Clonazepam, and Drug Paraphernalia. Bassa was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where she was booked and incarcerated.

Heath J. Hernandez, 28 years of age, address: Front St. Morgan City, La., arrested on 09/22/2017 @ 6:55 p.m.

Charges: Driving while Intoxicated 4th Offense

                 Possession of an Open Alcoholic Beverage in a Motor Vehicle

Patrol officers observed a vehicle being operated in the area of Second St. with improper lighting. A stop was initiated and Heath J. Hernandez was identified as the operator of the vehicle. According to reports, Hernandez was found to be in an intoxicated state. Hernandez performed poorly on Standardized Field Sobriety Test. Hernandez was also found to be in possession of an open alcoholic beverage in the vehicle. Hernandez was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail for Chemical Test. Upon arrival to the Morgan City Jail Hernandez submitted to test which registered .121g% blood alcohol content. Records check indicated that Hernandez had been arrested on three separate occasions of Driving While Intoxicated offenses. Hernandez was booked into the Morgan City Jail and incarcerated.

Dylan G. Landry, 18 years of age, address: Patton St. Morgan City, La., arrested on 09/23/2017 @ 4:29 a.m.

Patrol officers observed a vehicle being operated in the area of LA 70 swerving within its lane crossing the fog line. A stop was initiated and Dylan G. Landry was identified as the operator of the vehicle. According to reports, Landry was found to be in an intoxicated state. Landry performed poorly on Standardized Field Sobriety Test. Landry was also found to be in possession of an open alcoholic beverage in the vehicle.  Landry was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail for Chemical Test. Upon arrival to the Morgan City Jail Landry submitted to test registering .108g% blood alcohol content. Landry was booked and incarcerated.

Lydia J. Cruz, 32 years of age, address: Brashear Ave. Morgan City, La., arrested on 09/23/2017 @ 1:56 p.m.

Charges: Possession of Marijuana 2nd Offense

Lydia J. Cruz was located and arrested in the area of Duke St. on active arrest warrants held by the 16th Judicial Court. Upon taking Cruz into custody she was found to be in possession of suspected Marijuana and Drug Paraphernalia. Records indicate that Cruz had been arrested with marijuana in a separate incident. Cruz was transported to the Morgan City Jail where she was booked and incarcerated.

Patrol officers observed a vehicle fail to stop at a stop sign in the area of LA 70. The vehicle was observed to negotiate and improper turn and did not contain proper equipment as required by Louisiana Law. A stop was initiated and Jonathan J. Ruffin was later identified. According to reports, when stopping Ruffin fled the vehicle on foot. Ruffin was apprehended a short time later. Reports indicate that Ruffin was found to be in possession of suspected marijuana and drug paraphernalia. It was also learned that Ruffin’s Louisiana Driver’s License was under suspension. An open alcoholic beverage was located in the vehicle. Ruffin also held active warrants for his arrest through the St. Mary Sheriff’s Office. The area where this incident had taken place was within a Drug-Free Zone. Ruffin was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

Mykella L. Johnson, 30 years of age, address: Joseph St. Morgan City, La., arrested on 09/24/2017 @ 8:05 a.m.

Mykella L. Johnson was located and arrested at the Morgan City Police Department on active arrest warrants held by the Morgan City Police. According to reports, the warrants stem from an investigation conducted by patrol officers on April 16, 2017, where Johnson was found to be in possession of suspected Synthetic Marijuana in the area of Everett St. The area where this incident took place was within a Drug-Free Zone. Johnson was booked into the Morgan City Jail and incarcerated.

The warrants stem from an investigation conducted by the Morgan City Police Department Narcotics Division on September 07, 2017 when they came in contact with Irvin in the area of Fourth St. and was he found to be in possession of suspected Synthetic Marijuana. The area where this incident had taken place was within a Drug-Free Zone. Irvin was transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

Landry was identified as the operator of the vehicle. According to reports, Landry was found to be in an intoxicated state. Landry performed poorly on Standardized Field Sobriety Test. Landry was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail for Chemical Test. Upon arrival to the Morgan City Jail Landry submitted to Chemical Test which registered .146g% blood alcohol content. Landry was booked into the Morgan City Jail and incarcerated.
