Chief James F. Blair reports that over the last 24-hour period the Morgan City Police Department responded to 46 calls of service. The following person(s) were arrested as the result beginning on 6/4/2019:
Aaron James Richeaux, 26 years of age, Address-West 132 St., Cut Off, La., was arrested 6/4/2019 @ 10:25 A.M.

An officer on patrol observed a vehicle commit a traffic violation and conducted a traffic stop in the area of U.S. 90 and Martin Luther King Blvd. The driver was identified as Aaron J. Richeaux. During the traffic stop, he was located in possession of suspected marijuana and drug paraphernalia. He was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.
Richard Pollock, 44 years of age, Address- Canary St., Morgan City, La., was arrested on 6/4/2019 @ 1:03 P.M.

Nancy Perez, 44 years of age, Address-Canary St., Morgan City, La., was arrested on 6/4/2019 @ 4:00 P.M.
Charge: Illegal Possession of a Stolen Firearm

Detectives with the Morgan City Police Department investigating several recent vehicle burglaries in the Morgan City area developed Richard Pollock and Nancy Perez as suspects. On 6/4/2016 Detectives received information Richard Pollock and Nancy Perez was at a located business on Victor II BLVD. Detectives with the assistance of Uniform Patrol were able to locate them on Victor II Blvd. During initial contact, Richard Pollack gave a false name to investigators. Upon conducting a warrants check it was learned Pollack was wanted out of Fort Lauderdale, Florida by Broward County Sheriff's Office and Perez was wanted out of 24th District Court out of Jefferson Parish for felony theft. Both were detained for further investigation.
Detectives were able to obtain a search warrant for their Canary St. residence. Upon execution of the search warrant, investigators were able to recover stolen firearm which was within a firearm free zone. During the investigation, it was learned Pollock was a convicted felon and had used one of the victims credit card to make purchased in the Morgan City area. Investigators obtained arrest warrants for Pollock and Perez. They were placed under arrest and booked and incarcerated at the Morgan City Police Department.
Detectives are currently working to determine Pollocks sex offender status in the state of Louisiana. Detectives have identified other person(s) involved and warrants are pending. Morgan City Police Detectives are assisting surrounding agencies in similar investigations which the suspects are believed to be involved.
Billie D. Velasquez, 43 years of age, Address-Park Rd., Morgan City, La., was arrested on 6/4/2019 @ 2:26 P.M.
Charge: Disturbing the Peace
Officers were dispatched to an intoxicated person in the area of Fourth and Brashear Ave. When officers arrived they come into contact with Billi Velasquez who was in an intoxicated condition. She was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.
Chad Michael Bertrand, 34 years of age, Address- Joey St., Patterson, La., was arrested on 6/4/2016

Charge: Warrant- Criminal Neglect of Family
An officer came into contact with Chad Bertrand in the area of Brashear Ave. and Seventh St. A warrants revealed 16th District Court held an active warrant for his arrest. He was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department.
Orlandus Travon Abernathy, 30 years of age, Address-67th St., Fairfield, AL., was arrested on 6/4/2019 @ 11:13 P.M.

Lawrence Chavell Lagrand, 50 years of age, Address-McClain St., Brighton AL., was arrested on 6/4/2019 @ 11:13 P.M.

Officers of the Morgan City Police Department conducting a narcotics investigation at a local motel on HWY 182. Officers made contact with Orlandus Travon Abernathy and Lawrence Chavell Lagrand in one of the hotel rooms. During the investigation, Orlandus Travon Abernathy was found to be in possession of suspected Marijuana, Drug Paraphernalia, and Amphetamine / Dextroamphetamine. Lawrence C. Lagrand was found to be in possession of suspected Marijuana and Drug Paraphernalia. Abernathy and Lagrand were placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.
