Jared D Hope, 25 years of age, Address: Weeks Island Rd. New Iberia, La. was arrested on 02/11/2016 @ 11:37am.

Charges:  Possession of Synthetic Marijuana (4th Offense)
                  Obstruction of Justice
                  Violation of Uniformed Controlled Dangerous Substance Laws
                  Warrant - Probation Violation
                  Warrant - Failure to Appear (23rd Judicial Dist. Court)

     Officers responded to the area of Hwy 182 in regard to a report of a vehicle driviing reckless. Officers located the vehicle on Hwy 182 near Eleventh Street and a traffic stop was conducted. The driver was identified as Derrick J Cormier and passenger Jared D Hope. During the investigation Cormier and Hope's behavior aroused officer's supicions that they may be involved in illegal drug activity. Hope was observed to have something inside his mouth which officers believed he was attempting to hide or discard illegal contraband. Officers then retrieved what was believed to be suspected synthetic marijuana from Hope's mouth. A search of the vehicle was conducted when officers located suspected synthetic marijuana and drug paraphernalia. The location of the incident was within the area of a local church in violation of uniformed controlled dangerous substance laws. A warrants check revealed that there were active arrest warrants for Hope through the 6th Ward Morgan City Court and the 23rd Judicial Dist. Court.  Hope and Cormier were placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where they were booked and incarcerated.

     Frederick J Mosley was transported from the St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office Jail to the Morgan City Police Department in regard to active arrest warrants held by Morgan City Police. Mosley was booked into the Morgan City Jail and incarcerated.

Devante D Frank, 23 years of age, Address: Aucoin St. Morgan City , La. was arrested on 02/11/2016 @ 2:00pm.

     Devante D Frank was arrested in the 6th Ward Morgan City Court in regard to active arrest warrants held by the Morgan City Court. Frank was booked into the Morgan City Jail and incacerated.

Marilyn Hatch, 36 years of age, Address: Federal Ave. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 02/11/2016 @ 2:40pm.

     An officer responded to a local store on Hwy 182 in regard to a report of a shoplifter. The officer arrived and spoke with the managment who told the officer that Marilyn Hatch was observed inside the store placing items from a shelf into her purse. Hatch was confronted by managment when the items observed being taken were retrieved. Hatch was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where she was booked and incarcerated.

     Leeann N LeBlanc was located by an officer on Fifth Street near Michigan Street where she was arrested on active arrest warrants held by the 16th Judicial Dist. Court and 32nd Judicial Dist. Court. LeBlanc was transported to the Morgan City Police Department Jail where she was booked and incarcerated.

     A patrolling officer observed a vehicle make an improper turn on Hwy 182 @ Pecos Street. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver identified as Jeffery D Fields. A drivers license check revealed that Fields had a suspended drivers license. Fields was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated.

Alvaro Escobar-Calix, 27 years of age, Address: Florence St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 02/12/2016 @ 1:43am.

                  Resisting An Officer

     Officers responded to a local business on Hwy 182 in regard to a report of a fight involving several subjects. Officers arrived when they observed multiple subjects fighting at the business. Pereyra Lopez, Salvador G Viniegra and Alvaro Escobar-Calix were identified as the three subjects involved in the incounter. The three subject were separated by officers and placed under arrest when Escobar-Calix began fighting with officers. After a short struggle, Escobar-Calix was restrained by officers. Lopez, Viniegra and Escobar-Calix were transported to the Morgan City Police Department where they were booked and incarcerated.

Carlven Chapman, 39 years of age, Address: Louisiana St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 02/08/2016 @ 9:49pm.

Charges:  Attempted Home Invasion
                  Resisting an Officer      Officers responded to an address on St. Clair Street in regard to a subject at the residence making threats. Officers arrived when a subject known to the officers as Carlven Chapman was seen standing in front of one of the windows to the residence. Chapman seeing the officers, fled the area on foot. A foot chase ensued and officers lost sight of Chapman. A description was provided to the responding officer when Chapman was observed getting into the passenger seat of a vehicle and attempting to leave the area. Officers stopped the vehicle; at which time Chapman was located and arrested.  The officers were told by the victim that Chapman had called the victim and had threatened the victim. Shortly after Chapman arrived at the vitim's residence and had attempted to enter the residence through the front door but was unable to do so. Champan then went to the side of the residence where he attempted to open a window. Reports indicate that while doing so, Chapman had threatened to burn down the residence. Chapman was transported to the Morgan City Police Department were he was booked and incarcerated.

Randy L. Hatcher, 37 years of age, Address: Fourth St. Berwick, La. was arrested on 02/09/2016 @ 1:52am.

                  Resisting An Officer

     Officers resonded to a local business on Barrow Street in regard to a subject causing a disturbance and needing to be removed. The officers arrived and located Randy L. Hatcher standing in front the business. The managment along with witnesses told the officers that Hatcher had entered the business when he began shouting using profane language.  Hatcher then produced a knife and threatened to kill several of the people inside. The officers then retrieved a knife located on Hatcher which was the knife believed to be involved in the incident. Hatcher was then placed under arrest when he began fighting with officers. After a short struggle Hatcher was taken into custody. Hatcher was transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated.

Bryson Johnlewis, 20 years of age, Address: Peach St. Jennerette, La. was arrested on 02/09/2016 @ 7:06pm.

     A patrolling officer observed a vehicle in the area of Martin Luther King Blvd. near Allison Street with improper brake lighting.   A traffic stop was conducted and the driver was identified as Bryson Johnlewis. A drivers license check was conducted and it was learned that Johnlewis did not have a drivers license and the license plate dispalyed belonged to another vehicle. A small child, 3 years of age, was oberved in the back seat with no child restraint. Johnlewis was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

Drew L. Landry, 20 years of age, Address: Demar St. Bayou Vista, La. was arrested on 02/09/2016 @ 7:10pm.

                  Appearing In Public In an Intoxicated Condition

     Officers responded to a local business on Hwy 182 in regard to a disturbance. Responding officers were provided with a description of one of the subjects involved who had left the area. Moments later, officers located Drew L. Landry who fit the description of the subject invovled. Landry began running from officers and a foot chase ensued. Landry was captured moments later and arrested. Landry was believed to have been drinking and appeared to be intoxicated. Landry was transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated.

Jordan P. Streva, 20 years of age, Address: Oak Harbor Dr. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 02/09/2016 @ 7:54pm.

Charge:  Entering or Remaining Where Forbidden

     An officer investigated an incident at a local business on Hwy 182. Jordan P. Streva was told by the officer to leave the business and not return. Streva left the area without incident.  Later that same evening, the officer observed Streva back inside the business. Streva was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated.

Barbara A. Cook, 34 years of age, Address: 12th St. Thibodaux, La. was arrested on 02/10/2016 @ 12:51am.

                  Aggravated Assault

      Officers responded to an address on Bush St. in regard to a report of a fight. The officers were told by the victim and witness that Barbara A. Cook had gone to the residence on Bush Street where she and the victim were involved in a fight. After the fight, Cook got into a vehicle and nearly struck the victim as she was leaving the area. Cook was located by officers in the area moments later; at which time, she was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where she was booked and incarcerated.

     A patrolling officer observed a vehicle on Ditch Ave. with improper tail lighting. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver identified as Annabel M Garza. During the investigation Garza's behavior aroused officer's suspicions that she may be involved in illegal drug activity. A search of the vehicle was conducted when suspected marijuana and drug paraphernalia was located. Garza was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where she was booked and incarcerated.

     Morgan City Police Department Narcotics Detectives executed a search warrant at a residence on Egle Street. Investigators located Tressa Z Womack and a small child under 2 years of age inside the residence. A search of the residence was conducted when investigators located suspected marijuana and drug paraphernalia. The location of the incident was within a local federal housing area in violation of uniformed controlled dangerous substance laws. A warrants check revealed that the Morgan City Police Department held an active arrest warrant for Womack. Womack was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where she was booked and incarcerated.

     Morgan City Police Department Narcotics Detectives conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle that was observed failing to use a turn signal near at the intersection of Veterans Blvd. and Wren Street. The driver, later identified as Quentin J Dugar got out of the vehicle and began running from detectives. A foot chase ensued when detectives observed Dugar remove an item from one of his pockets throwing it to the ground. Dugar was captured moments later and arrested. Reports indicated that detectives were able to recover the item Dugar had removed from his pocket which was identified as suspected marijuana. A drivers license check revealed that Dugar also had a suspended drivers license. The location of the incendent was within a designated drug free zone.  Dugar was transported to the Morgan City Police Department Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

     A patrolling officer observed a vehicle in the area of Hwy 182 near David Dr. with improper brake lights. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver identified as Danny P Lauland. A drivers license check revealed that Lauland had a suspended drivers license. Lauland was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

Thomas Stansbury, 27 years of age, Address: Parlange Dr. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 02/06/2016 @ 1:34am. 

Charges:  Disturbing the Peace Intoxicated
                  Resisting An Officer 

     Officers responded to a local medical facility on Hwy 70 in regard to a intoxicated subject causing a disturbance. A description was provided to responding officers when they located Thomas Stansbury in the parking lot. Upon contact with Stansbury, reports indicate that Stansbury was believed to have been drinking and appeared to be intoxicated.  Stansbury was placed under arrest when he began to resist officer.  After a short struggle officer were able to place Stansbury into handcuffs at which time he was transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated.

Thompson R Cox Jr., 65 years of age, Address: Baton Rouge, La. was arrested on 02/06/2016 @ 2:12am. 

Charge:  Appearing in Public in a Intoxicated Condition

     Officers responded to the area of Railroad Ave. @ First Street in regard to an intoxicated subject casuing a disturbance on a passenger train traveling through Morgan City. The officers spoke with the train conductor who told officers that there was an intoxicated passenger on board that was causing a disturbance and disrupting the other passenger. The conductor told the intoxicated passenger to calm down but refused to do so. The officer then made contact with passenger Thompson R Cox Jr. who was believed to be drinking and appeared to be intoxicated. Cox Jr. was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated.

Antoinette O Davis, 37 years of age, Address: Roderick St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 02/06/2016 @ 9:40am.

     Antoinette O Davis was located on Onstead St. near Federal Ave. where she was arrested on active arrest warrants held by the 6th Ward Morgan City Court. Davis was transported to the Morgan City Police Department Jail where she was booked and incarcerated.

Martaisha L Brown, 31 years of age, Address: Levee Rd. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 02/06/2016 @ 4:16pm.

     Officers responded to an address on Grizzaffi St. in regard to a disturbance. The officer arrived and spoke to the complainant and witnesses who told the officer that Martaisha L Brown had gone into the residence without arthorization. Brown left the residence shortly after in a vehicle which the description was provided to officers. Brown was located by officers moments later at a residence on Lizabeth Dr. A warrants check revealed that the Morgan City Police Department held an active arrest warrant on Brown.  Brown was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where she was booked and incarcerated.

Bradley S Williams, 26 years of age, Address: New Iberia, La. was arrested on 02/06/2016 @ 4:47pm.

     Bradley S Williams who was already incarceratd in the Morgan City Jail was booked in on an active arrest warrant obtained by the 6th Ward Morgan City Court for probation violation. Williams was booked on the warrant and remains incarerated.

     A patrolling officer observed a vehicle crossing the fog line on Hwy 90 several times. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver identified as Gabrieo C Boulanger. A drivers license check revealed that Boulanger had a suspended drivers license and that the vehicle did not have proof of insurance. Boulanger was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated.

Alyssa Ashmore, 26 years of age, Address: Third St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 02/06/2016 @ 10:39pm.

     Officers responed to a local buisiness in regard to an intoxicated female causing a disturbance. The officers arrived and was told by managment and witnesses that Alyssa Ashmore was inside the business causing a distrubance, being irate and struck one of the patrons. The officers made contact with Ashmore and it was believed that Ashmore had been drinking and appeared to be intoxicated. Ashmore was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking. While booking suspected diazepam was located on her person. Ashmore was booked into the Morgan City Jail and incarcerated.

Calvillo S Garcia, 22 years of age, Address: Louisa St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 02/07/2016 @ 2:39am.

                  Careless Operation of a Motor Vehicle

     An officer responded to a vehicle crash at the intersection of Levee Rd. @ Sixth Street. During the investigation the driver of one of the vehicle involved was identified as Calvillo S Garcia who according to reports did not have a valid drivers license. Garcia was believed to have been drinking and appeared to be intoxicated. Garcia was placed under arrest and tranported to the Morgan City Police Department for further testing. Garcia submitted to the intoxilyzer 5000 test yielding a blood alcohol concentration of .168 grams percent. Garcia was booked into the Morgan City Jail and incarcerated.

Johnson was trasnported to the Morgan City Police Department Jail for booking where Johnson attempted to place suspected marijuana inside his mouth. The suspected marijuana was retreived by officers and Johnson was booked in the Morgan City Jail and incarcerated.

     A patrolling officer observed a vehicle traveling on Veterans Blvd. and that the driver was not wearing a seatbelt. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver identified as Bennie A Charles. A warrants and drivers license check was conducted which revealed that Charles had a suspended drivers license and that the 6th Ward Morgan CIty Court held an active arrest warrant for Charles. Charles was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Polic Department Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.
