An officer observed a vehicle committing a turn signal violation Everett St. and Sixth St. Anna Collette was identified as the driver and upon running a computer check it was learned her driver's license was under suspension. Officers also identified Marcus Gray as a passenger in the vehicle. A warrants check revealed Morgan City Police Department held an active warrant for his arrest. Both Collette and Gray were placed under arrest and transported to Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.

Officers observed a vehicle traveling on Mallard St. flashing its headlights at passing motorist. Officers conducted a traffic stop and identified the driver as Trey M. Estelle. During the traffic stop, Estelle was found to be in possession of suspect synthetic marijuana. Upon running a computer check on Estelle driver’s license it was found to be under suspension. He was placed under arrest and transported to Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.

An officer observed a vehicle traveling east on HWY 182 cross the center line. Upon conducting a traffic stop the driver was identified as Madison E. Mehrtens. During the traffic, Mehrtens was found to be in possession of suspected marijuana and drug paraphernalia. She was placed under arrest and transported to Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.

Huey J. Comeaux III, 31 years of age, Address-Ditch Ave., Morgan City, La., was arrested on 3/23/2019 @ 9:44 A.M.

An officer observed a vehicle slowing to turn from HWY 182 onto Ditch Ave did not have two proper working brake lights. Officer also noticed the expiration tag on the license plate appeared to have been tampered with. The officer conducted the traffic stop and identified the driver as Huey J Comeaux III. During the traffic, stop officers learned Comeaux III had altered the expiration tag on his license plate and had no current registration and insurance on his vehicle. Upon running a computer check it found Comeaux III driver’s license was suspended. He was placed under arrest and transported to Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.

An officer observed David T. Francois on Egle. St. Officer had knowledge 16^th District Court held warrants for his arrest. When the officer attempted to arrest Francois, he fled on foot from officers. While Francois was eluding officers, he struck an officer with a garbage can and ran onto Housing Authority property which he was previously barred from. Francois eventually surrendered to the pursuing officer and was taken into custody. He was transported to Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration

Officers arrived and witnesses identified Joseph Obanion and Maison Rivere as the individuals causing the disturbance and refusing to leave. Both Obanion and Rivere were placed under arrest and transported to Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.

Kenedrick Deshawn Webber, 34 years of age, Address- Canary St., Morgan City, La., was arrested on 3/24/2019 @ 3:46 P.M.

Officers were dispatched to a Mallard St. residence in reference to a domestic abuse battery complaint. Upon officers arriving they were advised by the victim that Kenedrick Weber had committed a battery them. Officers located Webber on Canary St. and placed him under arrest. He was transported to Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.

Officers responded to a call of a shoplifter at a business located on HWY 182. Upon officers arriving they learned from witnesses Davida R. Bias had concealed several items of merchandise valued at $37.00 on her person while in the store. Bais was placed under arrest and transported to Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.

He eventually surrendered to pursuing officers on Ash St. where he was taken into custody. Officers noted Brandley's speech was slurred and a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage on his breath. He was placed under arrest and transported to Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.

An officer responded to a Willow St. residence in reference to a person refusing to leave the property. Officers learned from the homeowner, Rebecca Martin, came to their residence and was refusing to leave. Martin was given several opportunities to leave the residence but refused to leave. She was placed under arrest and transported to Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.

               Introduction of contraband into a Penal Facility 

An officer patrolling Egle St. came into contact with Jonathan J. Motte on Morgan City Housing Authority property. While officers were speaking to Motte the officer noticed Motte was holding a plastic bag containing suspected marijuana. When officers attempted to arrest Motte, he pulled away and began fleeing the arresting officer. While Motte was eluding the officer he attempted to discard the suspect marijuana. He was taken into custody by the pursuing officer. During the search of Motte's person, suspected drug paraphernalia was located. He was placed under arrest and transported to Morgan City Police Department for booking. Once at Morgan City Police Department Officers located a bag containing suspected Methamphetamines he had concealed on his body. Motte was booked and incarcerated in the Morgan City Police Department.

Officers observed a vehicle traveling on HWY 182 near Roderick St. with only one headlight. Officers conducted a traffic stop and identified the driver as Jerry L. Livingston and the passenger as Jessica Gollmer. Officers ran a computer check on Livingston's driver's license found it was under suspension. During the officer stop, they found Livingston and Gollmer to be in possession of crack cocaine. It was learned Gollmer was wanted by State of Texas Parole Division while conducting a warrants check. Both Livingston and Gollmer was placed under arrest and transported to Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.

The investigating officer learned through surveillance footage the transactions were conducted by the complainant, Theodore Francis. On March 19, 2019 Officers were called to a local business due to an ex-employee causing a disturbance.  Officers arrived and spoke with witnesses who told them the Courville had come back to the business to retrieve some of his belongings.  Once back at the business Courville started to use obscene language and threaten a worker at the business.  Officers placed Courville under arrest and transported him to the Morgan City Police Department for booking.

                   Criminal Damage to Property under $1000.00

Officers were called to a Franklin St. residence due to a disturbance.  Officers spoke with the victim who stated that Ms. Verdin came to his residence and they started to argue after he asked her to leave.  During the argument, Ms. Verdin attacked the victim.  Officers noticed that the victim had scratches and marks around the neck and face area.  The victim also stated that Ms. Verdin damaged his cellular phone.  Officers also learned that juvenile was present at the residence.  Ms. Verdin was located a short time later and placed under arrest.

Wilber Richard Jr was transported from the Eunice Police Department and booked into the Morgan City Police Department jail on the above warrants.
The warrant for Domestic Abuse stems from a July 2018 complaint in which Richard Jr. was alleged to have attacked the victim during which time placed his hands around her neck and choked her.  Officers were unable to locate Richard Jr at that time and filed warrants for his arrest.  Richard Jr. also had warrants from City Court of Morgan City.

Matthew Mote, 21 years of age, Fifth St. Morgan City was arrested on 03/19/2019 @ 7:28 pm

Charge: Aggravated Assault

Officers were called to a Willard St. address due to a disturbance.  Officer learned that one of the subjects involved had left the scene.  Officers located that person and brought him back to the scene where they learned that he was involved in a disturbance.  During the disturbance, Matthew Mote allegedly threatened the subject with a knife. Officer did locate a knife on Mr. Mote and placed him under arrest for aggravated assault.  Mote was transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking.
