MCPD Arrest Report 06/01/2018
Chief James F. Blair reports that over the 24 hour period the Morgan City Police Department responded to 44 calls for service. The following persons were arrested as a result beginning on 05/31/2018:
David J. Elliot, 41 years of age, Address-Franklin St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 05/31/2018 @ 10:50 am.
Charge: Driving Under Suspension
Traffic Control Signals
A patrol officer in the area of Hwy 90 and the LA Hwy 182 junction, observed a vehicle disregard a red traffic signal. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver, David Elliot was asked to produce a valid driver’s license. A computer check revealed that Elliot’s driver’s license was suspended. Elliot was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.
Glynn A. Guidry, 38 years of age, Address- Carline St. Berwick, La. was arrested on 05/31/2018 @ 9:30 am.
Charge: Warrant-Failure to Appear for Arraignment
Glynn Guidry was placed under arrest at the Morgan City Police Department for an active warrant he held for the 6th Ward Morgan City Court. Guidry was booked and incarcerated.
Megan L. Cheramie, 26 years of age, Address- Park Rd. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 05/31/2018 @ 2:40 pm.
Charge: Direct Contempt of Court
Megan Cheramie was placed under arrest in the City Court of Morgan City for violating orders issued by the 6th Ward Morgan City Court. Cheramie was transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.
Michael Cousson, 53 years of age, Address- Terrance St. New Iberia, La. was arrested on 05/31/2018 @ 2:17 pm.

Careless Operation
Officers responded to a minor vehicle crash on the US Hwy 90 West off-ramp near LA 70. Officers made contact with one of the drivers involved in the crash, Michael Cousson. Reports indicate that Cousson disregarded a stop sign at the intersection which caused the crashed. A computer check of Cousson driver’s license revealed it was suspended. Cousson was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.
Charlotte T. Bracamontes, 30 years of age, Address-Tiffany St. Patterson, La. was arrested on 05/31/2018 @ 4:35 pm.
Charge: Disturbing the Peace Intoxicated
Possession of Synthetic Marijuana
Officers responded to a local business on LA 70 in regards to an intoxicated individual walking in the parking lot. Officers arrived and made contact with the individual identified as Charlotte Bracamontes. Reports indicate that Bracamontes did appear intoxicated. Officers also located suspected synthetic marijuana in Bracamontes possession. Bracamontes was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.
Herbert Brown, 35 years of age, Address- Egle St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 05/31/2018 @ 9:35 pm.

Warrant-Failure to Appear
Officers responded to a residence on Egle St. in regards to a disturbance. Officers arrived and Herbert Brown was identified as the suspect involved in the disturbance. According to reports, the victim stated that she and Brown had a verbal altercation, in which Brown made threats towards her. Officers located Brown, who according to reports denied the allegations. A warrant check on Brown revealed that he held an active warrant for the 16th Judicial District Court. Brown was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.
Jarell W. Porter, 21 years of age, Address- Ezelie St. Lafayette, La. was arrested on 06/01/2018 @ 12:00 am.
Charge: Driving While Intoxicated 1st Offense

Warrant- Forgery
A patrol officer in the area of LA Hwy 182 near Duke St. observed a vehicle with improper lighting. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver was asked to produce a valid driver’s license. During the course of the investigation, it was determined that the driver had given officers a false name. The driver was later identified as Jarell Porter. According to reports, Porter appeared intoxicated. Porter was asked to perform the Standardized Field Sobriety Test, in which he performed poorly. A warrant check revealed that Porter held active warrants for the St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Office. Porter was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department. Once at the police department, Porter submitted to the chemical test for intoxication. Porter yielded a result of .118g% of blood alcohol content. Porter was booked and incarcerated.
