MCPD Arrest Report 06/01/2018

Chief James F. Blair reports that over the 24 hour period the Morgan City Police Department responded to 44 calls for service. The following persons were arrested as a result beginning on 05/31/2018:


David J. Elliot, 41 years of age, Address-Franklin St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 05/31/2018 @ 10:50 am.

Charge:  Driving Under Suspension
                 Traffic Control Signals

  A patrol officer in the area of Hwy 90 and the LA Hwy 182 junction, observed a vehicle disregard a red traffic signal. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver, David Elliot was asked to produce a valid driver’s license. A computer check revealed that Elliot’s driver’s license was suspended. Elliot was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration. 


Glynn A. Guidry, 38 years of age, Address- Carline St. Berwick, La. was arrested on 05/31/2018 @ 9:30 am.

Charge:  Warrant-Failure to Appear for Arraignment

  Glynn Guidry was placed under arrest at the Morgan City Police Department for an active warrant he held for the 6th Ward Morgan City Court. Guidry was booked and incarcerated.


Megan L. Cheramie, 26 years of age, Address- Park Rd. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 05/31/2018 @ 2:40 pm.

Charge: Direct Contempt of Court

   Megan Cheramie was placed under arrest in the City Court of Morgan City for violating orders issued by the 6th Ward Morgan City Court. Cheramie was transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.


Michael Cousson, 53 years of age, Address- Terrance St. New Iberia, La. was arrested on 05/31/2018 @ 2:17 pm.

Charge:  Driving Under Suspension
                  Careless Operation

  Officers responded to a minor vehicle crash on the US Hwy 90 West off-ramp near LA 70.  Officers made contact with one of the drivers involved in the crash, Michael Cousson.  Reports indicate that Cousson disregarded a stop sign at the intersection which caused the crashed. A computer check of Cousson driver’s license revealed it was suspended. Cousson was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.


Charlotte T. Bracamontes, 30 years of age, Address-Tiffany St. Patterson, La. was arrested on 05/31/2018 @ 4:35 pm.

Charge:  Disturbing the Peace Intoxicated
                  Possession of Synthetic Marijuana

     Officers responded to a local business on LA 70 in regards to an intoxicated individual walking in the parking lot.   Officers arrived and made contact with the individual identified as Charlotte Bracamontes.  Reports indicate that Bracamontes did appear intoxicated. Officers also located suspected synthetic marijuana in Bracamontes possession. Bracamontes was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.


Herbert Brown, 35 years of age, Address- Egle St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 05/31/2018 @ 9:35 pm.

Charge:  Disturbing the Peace
                 Simple Assault
                  Warrant-Failure to Appear
   Officers responded to a residence on Egle St. in regards to a disturbance. Officers arrived and Herbert Brown was identified as the suspect involved in the disturbance. According to reports, the victim stated that she and Brown had a verbal altercation, in which Brown made threats towards her. Officers located Brown, who according to reports denied the allegations. A warrant check on Brown revealed that he held an active warrant for the 16th Judicial District Court. Brown was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.

Charge:  Driving While Intoxicated 1st Offense
                  Headlamps for Motor Vehicles
                  Resisting an Officer- False Information
                  Warrant- Theft over $1000.00
                   Warrant- Forgery

  A patrol officer in the area of LA Hwy 182 near Duke St. observed a vehicle with improper lighting. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver was asked to produce a valid driver’s license. During the course of the investigation, it was determined that the driver had given officers a false name. The driver was later identified as Jarell Porter. According to reports, Porter appeared intoxicated. Porter was asked to perform the Standardized Field Sobriety Test, in which he performed poorly. A warrant check revealed that Porter held active warrants for the St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Office. Porter was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department. Once at the police department, Porter submitted to the chemical test for intoxication. Porter yielded a result of .118g% of blood alcohol content. Porter was booked and incarcerated.

Chief James F. Blair reports that over the 24 hour period the Morgan City Police Department responded to 56 calls for service. The following persons were arrested as a result beginning on 05/29/2018:

Cindy Sanders, 47 years of age, Address- Tall Timbers Dr. Patterson, La. was arrested on 05/29/2018 @ 8:52 am.

Charge:  Driving While Intoxicated 2nd Offense
                 Driving Under Suspension
                 Illuminating Devices Required

  A patrol officer in the area of LA Hwy 182 and Eleventh St, observed a vehicle with improper lighting. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver, Cindy Sanders was asked to produce a valid driver’s license. A computer check revealed that Sanders’ driver’s license was under suspension. According to reports, Sanders appeared intoxicated. Sanders was asked to perform the Standardized Field Sobriety Test, but refused. Sanders was placed under arrest and transport to the Morgan City Police Department. Once at the police department, Sanders refused to submit to the chemical test for intoxication.  Sanders was booked and incarcerated.


Rodney J. Morrison, 39 years of age, Address- Sycamore St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 05/29/2018 @ 9:24 pm.

Charge:  Criminal Trespass

   Officers responded to a residence on Sycamore St. in regards to an individual knocking on the doors and windows of the home.  Officers arrived and made contact with the owner of the residence, who stated that someone was in her garage.  Officers located the individual in the garage and he was identified as Rodney Morrison.  Morrison was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.

MCPD Arrest Report 05/25/2018

Chief James F. Blair reports that over the last 24-hour reporting period the Morgan City Police Department responded to 51 calls for service. The following persons were arrested as a result beginning on 05/24/2018:

Clifton W. Ganaway Sr., 50 years of age, Address- Stephensville Rd. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 05/24/2018 @ 11:49 am.

Charge:  Warrant- Computer Aided Solicitation of a Minor
                 Warrant- Indecent Behavior with a Juvenile

   The Morgan City Police Department Detectives Division conducted an undercover operation in regards to the online solicitation of minors in the Morgan City area. According to reports, Ganaway began communicating online with an undercover detective posing as a minor. Reports also indicate that Ganaway set up a location for him and the juvenile to meet.  When Ganaway arrived at the location, he was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.


Ricky L. Tate, 35 years of age, Address- Irish Bend Rd. Franklin, La. was arrested on 05/24/2018 @ 4:48 pm.

Charge: Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
               Warrant- Parole Violation


Nicole R. Williams, 36 years of age, Address- Irish Bend Rd. Franklin, La. was arrested on 05/24/2018 @ 4:48 pm.


Charge:  Warrant-Failure to Appear

  A patrol officer in the area of LA Hwy 182 near David Dr. observed a vehicle with improper lighting. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver, Ricky Tate was asked to produce a valid driver’s license.  The passenger in the vehicle was identified as Nicole Williams. During the course of the investigation, Tate was found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia. Tate also held an active warrant with the Louisiana Office of Probation and Parole. It was determined that Williams held an active warrant with the Franklin Police Department. Both Tate and Williams were placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.


Jimmie Durden, 37 years of age, Address-Morgan City, La. was arrested on 05/24/2018 @ 5:06 pm.

Charge:  Warrant-Failure to Appear

    Jimmie Durden was transported from the Assumption Parish Jail to the Morgan City Police Department for an active warrant he held for the 6th Ward City Court. Durden was booked and incarcerated.


Daniel M. Elliott, 18 years of age, Address- Chatsworth Dr. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 05/24/2018 @ 5:12 pm.

Charge: Criminal Trespass


Edward U. Giroir, 23 years of age, Address- Egle St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 05/24/2018 @ 5:12 pm.

Charge:  Criminal Trespass

  Officers responded to an unoccupied residence on Fourth St. in regards to trespassers on the property. When officers arrived, contact was made with Daniel Elliot and Edward Giroir. Reports indicate that the owner of the residence was not allowing anyone to be on the property. Elliot and Giroir were placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.


Joseph A. Acosta, 25 years of age, Address- Grove St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 05/25/2018 @ 1:52 am.

Charge: Driving Under Suspension

   An officer patrolling on LA Hwy 182, observed a vehicle with improper lighting. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver, Joseph Acosta was asked to produce a valid driver’s license. A computer check revealed that Acosta’s driver’s license was suspended. Acosta was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.

Chief James F. Blair reports that over the 24 hour period the Morgan City Police Department responded to 41 calls for service. The following persons were arrested as a result beginning on 05/30/2018:


Tosha M. Gonsoulin, 25 years of age, Address- Garber St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 05/30/2018 @ 12:02 pm.

Charge:  Possession of Marijuana
                  Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
                  Violation of Uniform CDS-Drug Free Zone
                  Illegal Use of CDS in the Presence of Person Under 17 years of age

  Officers responded to a residence on Garber St. in regards to possible drug activity inside the residence. Officers arrived and made contact with Tosha Gonsoulin and a small child. Gonsoulin was informed of why officers were at her home. According to reports, Gonsoulin gave officers consent to search the residence.  Officers located suspected marijuana and drug paraphernalia inside the home. The area in which Gonsoulin lives is within 2000 ft. of an elementary school which is considered a drug free zone. Gonsoulin was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.


Sandra Fabre, 49 years of age, Address- Maine St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 05/30/2018 @ 9:10 pm.

Charge:  Disturbing the Peace Intoxicated
                  Criminal Damage to Property
                   Illegal Carrying of a Weapon
                  Warrant- Theft under $1000.00

   Officers responded to a residence on Everett St. in regards to a disturbance. Officers arrived and Sandra Fabre was identified as the individual causing the disturbance. Reports indicate that Fabre had come to the residence, armed herself with brass knuckles and began damaging a vehicle on the property. Officers made contact with Fabre, who appeared intoxicated. Fabre also held an active warrant for the Morgan City Police Department. The warrant stems from an incident in November 2017, which alleges Fabre committed a theft of $200.00 from an individual. Fabre was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.

Chief James F. Blair reports that over the holiday weekend the Morgan City Police Department responded to 183 calls for service. The following persons were arrested as a result beginning on 05/25/2018:


Umeki Jamison, 38 years of age, Address- East Little Texas Rd. Napoleonville, La. was arrested on 05/25/2018 @ 12:25 pm.

  Umeki Jamison was transported from the Assumption Parish Jail to the Morgan City Police Department for an active warrant she held for the 6th Ward City Court. Jamison was booked and incarcerated.

Charge:  Reckless Operation of a Vehicle
                 Driving While Intoxicated
                 Possession of Sch II Methamphetamine with Intent to Distribute

   Officers responded to a local business on Hwy 70 in regards to a single vehicle crash in the parking lot. When officers arrived, contact was made with the driver, Justin Adams. According to reports, Adams appeared under the influence of some type of narcotic.  During the course of the investigation, suspected methamphetamine packaged for sale was located on Adams’ person. Adams was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department. Once at the police department, Adams submitted to the chemical test for intoxication which yielded a result of .000 g%. Adams was then transported to a local medical facility to submit to a blood sample, those results are pending. Adams was transported back to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.


Kayla M. Francise, 20 years of age, Address- Egle St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 02/25/2018 @ 8:40 pm.

Charge:  Warrant-Theft under $1,000.00

  Kayla Francise was located on Keith St. and placed under arrest for an active warrant she held for the Morgan City Police Department.  The warrant stems from an incident in March 2018, which alleges that Francise committed a theft of $100.00. Francise was transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.


Nikki R. Mayon, 36 years of age, Address- Hwy 182 Morgan City, La. was arrested on 05/26/2018 @ 12:15 am.

Nikki Mayon was placed under arrest at the Morgan City Police Department for active warrants she held for the 6th Ward City Court and the 16th Judicial District Court. Mayon was booked and incarcerated.


Alonso Castrejon Barajas, 36 years of age, Address- Vista Village Morgan City, La. was arrested o 05/26/2018 @ 12:31 am.

                 Vehicle Approaching or Enter Intersection

    A patrol officer in the area of LA Hwy 182 near Martin Luther King Blvd, observed a vehicle pull out of a parking lot onto LA Hwy 182 nearly crashing into the patrol unit. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver, Alonso Barajas was asked to produce a valid driver’s license. Reports indicate that Barajas appeared intoxicated. A computer check revealed that Barajas did not possess a valid Louisiana Driver’s License. Barajas was asked to perform the Standardized Field Sobriety Test, which he performed poorly. Barajas was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department.  Once at the police department, Barajas submitted to the chemical test for intoxication, which yielded a result of .162g%. Barajas was booked and incarcerated.


Jeffery T. Boudreaux, 22 years of age, Address- Riverview Dr. Patterson, La. was arrested on 05/26/2018 @ 2:26 am.

Charge:  Driving While Intoxicated

     A patrol officer in the area of LA Hwy 182 near Aycock St, observed a vehicle going faster than the posted speed. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver, Jeffery Boudreaux was asked to produce a valid driver’s license. According to reports, Boudreaux appeared intoxicated. Boudreaux was asked to perform the Standardized Field Sobriety Test, which he performed poorly. Boudreaux was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department. Once at the police department, Boudreaux submitted to the chemical test for intoxication, which yielded a result of .106g%. Boudreaux was booked and incarcerated.

                  Resisting an Officer

  A patrol officer on LA Hwy 182, observed a vehicle swerving in and out of the lane. The officer conducted a traffic stop and while approaching noticed the passenger flee the vehicle. The passenger, Alton Kemp was apprehended a short time later. It was determined that Kemp held active warrants for the Morgan City Police Department and the 6th Ward City Court.   The driver, Dwayne Clark was asked to produce a valid driver’s license. Reports indicate that Clark appeared intoxicated. Clark and Kemp were placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department.  Once at the police department, Kemp was booked and incarcerated.  Clark refused to perform the Standard Field Sobriety Test and the chemical test for intoxication. A warrant was filed to obtain a blood sample from Clark. Clark was transported to a local medical facility for the sample to be drawn, the results are pending. Clark was transported back to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration. A computer check also revealed that Clark had a prior driving while intoxicated conviction within the last ten years.


Nicholas D. Wiggins, 28 years of age, Address- Tupelo St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 05/26/2018 @ 9:14 am.

Charge:  Warrant-Failure to Pay Fines (2cts)

  Nicholas Wiggins was located in the area of Sixth St near Brashear Ave. Wiggins was placed under arrest for active warrants held for the 6th Ward City Court. Wiggins was transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.


Fred P. Kenner, 31 years of age, Address- Grace St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 05/26/2018 @ 5:06 pm.

Charge:  Warrant- Probation and Parole
                 Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

     Fred Kenner was located on First St. near S. Railroad Ave. A warrant check revealed that he held an active warrant with the Louisiana Office of Probation and Parole. Kenner was also in possession of drug paraphernalia. Kenner was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.


Sheldon P. Lirette, 22 years of age, Address- Ditch Ave. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 05/26/2018 @ 12:10 pm.

  An officer in the area of LA Hwy 182 and Aycock St, observed a vehicle with improper lighting. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver, Sheldon Lirette was asked to produce a valid driver’s license. A computer check revealed that Lirette’s driver’s license was under suspension. Lirette was also in possession of drug paraphernalia. Lirette was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.


Jane Stroud, 53 years of age, Address- Jamie Court Bayou Lourse, La. was arrested on 05/26/2018 @ 5:35 pm.

Charge:  Theft under $1000.00

   Officers responded to a local business on Hwy 70 in regards to a shoplifter. Officers arrived and spoke to management who stated that an individual had concealed items and tried leaving the store without paying.  The individual was identified as Jane Stroud. According to reports Stroud admitted to concealing the items in her purse, in order to not pay for them. Stroud was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.


Brandon Gant, 34 years of age, Address- Egle St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 05/26/2018 @ 10:01 pm.

Charge:  Warrant- Monetary Instrument Abuse

  Brandon Gant was located on Brashear Ave. and placed under arrest for an active warrant he held for the Morgan City Police Department.  The warrant stems from an incident on May 14, 2018, which alleges that Gant used a counterfeit $100.00 dollar bill at a local business. Gant was transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.


Ernesto Vargas-Vaca, 26 years of age, Address- Rex, GA was arrested on 05/27/2018 @ 12:52 am.

Rinney D. Turner, 26 years of age, Address- Eleventh St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 05/27/2018 @ 11:01 am.

Charge:  Warrant-Failure to Pay Probation Fees

   Rinney Turner was placed under arrest in the area of Seventh St. for an active warrant he held for the 6th Ward City Court. Turner was transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.


Maynor Antunez-Gonzales, 22 years of age, Address- Arenz St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 05/28/2018 @ 12:25 am.

    A patrol officer on Hwy 90, observed a vehicle traveling in the middle of the lane. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver, Maynor Antunez-Gonzales was asked to produce a valid driver’s license. A computer check revealed that Gonzales did not have a valid driver’s license. Reports indicate that Gonzales appeared intoxicated. Gonzales was asked to perform the Standardized Field Sobriety Test and he performed poorly. Gonzales was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department to perform the chemical test for intoxication. Gonzales yielded a result of .175g% blood alcohol content. Gonzales was booked and incarcerated.


Charlie H. Covington, 60 years of age, Address- Leona St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 05/28/2018 @ 3:36 pm.

Charge: Warrant- Theft under $1000.00

  Charlie Covington was placed under arrest on Bowman St. for an active warrant held for the Morgan City Police Department. The warrant stems from an incident in March 2018, which alleges that Covington committed a theft at a local business of items valued at $51.62. Covington was transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.


Darionte D. Brown, 18 years of age, Address- Sun St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 05/28/2018 @ 3:42 pm.

   A patrol officer in the area of Federal and Brashear Ave, observed a vehicle with a large crack on the front windshield obstructing the driver’s view. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver, Darionte Brown was asked to produce a valid driver’s license. According to reports, the officer could smell a strong odor of suspected marijuana emitting from the vehicle. During the course of the investigation, consent to search the vehicle was given. Suspected marijuana and drug paraphernalia were located inside the vehicle. Brown was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.


Dwayne K. Brown, 24 years of age, Address- Robin St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 05/28/2018 @ 6:35 pm.

                 Warrant-Failure to Appear

  An officer observed a vehicle at the intersection of Sixth and Freret St disregard the stop sign. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver, Dwayne Brown was asked to produce a valid driver’s license. The officer also noticed two small children in the vehicle unrestrained.  A computer check revealed that Brown did not have a valid driver’s license. It was determined that Brown held an active warrant for the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office. Officers also located suspected marijuana in Brown’s possession. Brown was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.


Buddy Burns Jr., 59 years of age, Address-Hwy 182 Morgan City, La. was arrested on 05/28/2018 @ 10:26 pm.

Charge:  Speeding
                Driving Under Suspension

  A patrol officer in the area of LA Hwy 182 near Roderick St., observed a vehicle traveling at a speed higher than is posted. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver, Buddy Burns was asked to produce a valid driver’s license. A computer check revealed that Burn’s driver’s license was under suspension. Chief James F. Blair reports that over the last 24-hour reporting period the Morgan City Police Department responded to 45 calls for service. The following person was arrested as a result beginning on 05/23/2018:


Brennan N. Skinner, 25 years of age, Address- Grace St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 05/23/2018 @ 2:56 pm.

Charge:  Warrant-Domestic Abuse Child Endangerment Law (4cts)

   Brennan Skinner was located by officers in the area of Railroad Ave. and near Eleventh St. It was determined Skinner held active warrants for the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office. Skinner was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.
