Chief James F. Blair reports that over the last 24-hour reporting period the Morgan City Police Department responded to 41 calls for service. The following persons were arrested as a result beginning on 02/20/2018:

Douglas Dilsaver Jr., 35 years of age, address: Sixth St. Morgan City, La., arrested on 02/20/2018 @ 7:20 a.m.

Warrant: F.T.A. for Trial on 01/16/2018

Patrol officers responded to the area of Grizzaffi St. in regards to a suspicious subject. Officers arrived and Douglas Dilsaver Jr. was identified. According to reports, Dilsaver was found to hold an active arrest warrant through the 16^th Judicial Court. Dilsaver was also found to be in possession of suspected Hydrocodone, Oxycodone, Marijuana, and Drug Paraphernalia. Dilsaver was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

Nathaniel Jones, 60 years of age, address: Cherry St. Patterson, La., arrested on 02/20/2018 @ 12:41 p.m.

Charges: Theft under $1,000

Patrol officers responded to a local business in the area of LA 182 in regards to a theft. According to reports, officers arrived and Nathaniel Jones was identified. Jones allegedly took merchandise valued at $89.85 from the business. Jones was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

Herman T. Solone, 26 years of age, address: Cardinal St. Morgan City, La., arrested on 02/20/2018 @ 3:56 p.m.

Herman T. Solone was located and arrested at the Berwick Police Department on active arrest warrants held by the 6^th Ward and 16^th Judicial Courts. Solone was transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

Danny K. Willis Jr., 32 years of age, address: Hickory St. Morgan City, La., arrested on 02/20/2018 @ 10:00 p.m.

Patrol officers responded to a local business in the area of LA 182 in regards to a an alarm activation. Officers arrived and Danny K. Willis Jr. was located in front of the business. According to reports, Willis allegedly provided officers with a false name initial before being identified. Willis was found to be in possession of suspected Marijuana and Drug Paraphernalia. The area where this incident had taken place is within a Drug-Free Zone. Willis was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

Chief James F. Blair reports that over the last 72-hour reporting period the Morgan City Police Department responded to 108 calls for service. The following persons were arrested as a result beginning on 02/16/2018:

Jose T. Garcia, 33 years of age, Address- West Syl’s Lane Morgan City, La. was arrested on 02/16/2018 @ 7:00 pm.

Charge: Warrant- Probation Violation

Jose Garcia was arrested at the Morgan City Police Department on an active warrant he held for the 6^th Ward City Court. Garcia was booked and incarcerated.

Sammie Pigott Jr., 48 years of age, Address- Francis St., Berwick, La. was arrested on 02/16/2018 @ 7:44 am.

Charge: Theft under $1000.00

Officers responded to a local business on LA 182 in regards to a shoplifter. According to reports, management identified Sammie Pigott as the suspect in the theft. Pigott was located in the area of Sixth and Maine St. The items from the business were recovered and they were valued at $23.30. Pigott was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.

Krystal L. Meranta, 28 years of age, Address- Clark Rd. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 02/16/2018 @ 8:15 pm.

Charge: Disturbing the Peace Intoxicated

Officers responded to a residence on Second St. in regards to a disturbance. Reports indicate that Krystal Meranta was at the home causing a disturbance and appeared intoxicated. Meranta was asked to calm down several times, but refused. Meranta was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.

Heather R. Moore, 32 years of age, Address- Teche Rd. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 02/17/2018 @ 3:30 am.

Improper Lane Usage

A patrol officer in the area of East Blvd and Railroad Ave. observed a vehicle swerving in and out of the lane of travel. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver was identified as Heather Moore. According to reports, Moore appeared intoxicated. She was asked to perform the Standardized Field Sobriety Test, in which she performed poorly. Moore was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department. Once at the police department Moore was asked to submit to the chemical test for intoxication, she refused. A search warrant was obtained and Moore was transported to a medical facility for a sample of blood to be drawn. That sample was collected and results are pending. Moore was transported back to the Morgan City Police Department where she was booked and incarcerated.

Jorge J. Ortega-Vazquez, 22 years of age, Address- Village Lane Morgan City, La. was arrested on 02/17/2018 @ 2:14 am.

   A patrol officer in the area of LA 182 and Cottonwood St observed a vehicle traveling eastbound on LA 182 in the westbound lane. The vehicle then crashed into another vehicle traveling west on LA 182. Officers were able to stop the vehicle and the driver was identified as Jorge Ortega-Vazquez. Reports indicate that Vazquez appeared intoxicated, he also performed poorly on the Standardized Field Sobriety Test. Vazquez was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department. Once at the police department, Vazquez was asked to submit to the chemical test for intoxication. Vazquez results yielded a .245g% of blood alcohol content. Ortega was booked and incarcerated.

Ronald Picou, 52 years of age, Address- Karen Dr. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 02/17/2018 @ 9:15 pm.

A patrol officer conducted a traffic stop in the area of Seventh St and Ditch Ave. for a vehicle failing to stop at the stop sign at that location. The driver of the vehicle was identified as Ronald Picou. A warrant check revealed that Picou held an active warrant for the 6^th Ward City Court. Picou was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.

Chett M. Von Buelow, 25 years of age, Address- Bernice St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 02/17/2018 @ 11:08 pm.

Charge: Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

A patrol officer observed a vehicle fail to stop at the stop sign at the intersection of Ditch Ave. and Seventh St. The driver, Chett Von Buelow was asked to provide a valid driver’s license. During the course of the investigation, consent was given to search the vehicle. Located was an item used to smoke illegal narcotics. Von Buelow was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.

Nicole Hampton, 30 years of age, Address- Southeast Blvd. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 02/18/2018 @ 1:56 am.

An officer observed a vehicle traveling on LA 182 near the US 90 junction without a driver’s side rearview mirror. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver, Nicole Hampton was asked to produce a valid driver’s license. A computer check revealed that Hampton’s driver’s license was suspended. During the course of the investigation, consent was given to search the vehicle and suspected marijuana and items used to smoke illegal narcotics were located. Hampton was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.

Leon Thibodeaux, 27 years of age, Address- Diane Dr. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 02/18/2018 @ 3:16 am.

A patrol officer observed a vehicle traveling eastbound on LA 182 faster than the posted speed. The vehicle was also swerving in and out of its lane of travel. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver, Leon Thibodeaux was asked to provide a valid driver’s license. According to reports, Thibodeaux appeared intoxicated. Thibodeaux was asked to perform to the Standardized Field Sobriety Test, in which he performed poorly. Thibodeaux was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department. Once at the police department, Thibodeaux was asked to submit to the chemical test for intoxication and his results yielded a .136 g% of blood alcohol content. Thibodeaux was booked and incarcerated.

An officer observed an individual standing in front of a closed business in the area of LA 182 and Redwood St. The individual was identified as Celeste Delaune. Delaune was found to be in possession of suspected synthetic marijuana and items used to smoke illegal narcotics. Delaune was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.

Paula M. Duval, 28 years of age, Address-Fourth St. Berwick, La. was arrested on 02/18/2018 @ 6:12 pm.

Officers responded to Lake End Park in regards to a vehicle driving reckless in the area. A description of the vehicle was given out and officers located the vehicle on Veteran’s Blvd. The driver was identified as Paula Duval and it was determined that her driver’s license was suspended.   According to reports, witnesses stated Duval had crashed into another vehicle at the park and left the area. Duval also held warrants for the 16^th Judicial District Court. Duval was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.

Cupertino Cos Subuluj, 27 years of age, Address- Palm Ave. Houma, La. was arrested on 02/19/2018 @ 12:10 am.

Wrong Way on One Way Street

An officer observed a vehicle traveling down the wrong way on Brashear Ave. near Eight St. A vehicle stop was conducted and the driver, Cupertino Cos Subuluj was asked to produce a valid driver’s license. A computer check revealed that Cos Subuluj did not have a driver’s license. Cos Subuluj was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.

Patrol officers observed a vehicle being operated in the area of Marguerite St. at 30 mph in a 15 mph School Zone. A stop was initiated and Vivian Francis was identified as the operator of the vehicle. According to reports, Francis’ Louisiana Driver’s License was found to be under suspension. Francis was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where she was booked and incarcerated.

Patrol officers observed a vehicle being operated in the area of Fifth St. without proper lighting. A stop was initiated and Barron W. Bowie was identified as the operator of the vehicle. According to reports, Bowie was found to be in an intoxicated state. Bowie performed poorly on Standardized Field Sobriety Test. Bowie was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail for Chemical Test which he refused to submit to. Bowie was booked into the Morgan City Jail and incarcerated.

Frank E. Cates, 61 years of age, address: S. Irwin St. Sulphur, La., arrested on 02/15/2018 @ 3:57 a.m.

Charges: Driving while Intoxicated 2^nd Offense

Patrol officers observed a vehicle in the parking lot of a local business in the area of Victor II Blvd with two flat tires on the vehicle. The officer approached the vehicle and Frank E. Cates was located and identified as the operator of the vehicle. According to reports, Cates struck the curb while operating the vehicle on Victor II Blvd causing the tires to deflate. Cates was found to be in an intoxicated state. Cates performed poorly on Standardized Field Sobriety Test. Cates was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail for Chemical Test which he submitted to resulting in .287g% blood alcohol content. Records indicated that Cates had a prior driving while intoxicated offense in 2014. Cates was booked into the Morgan City Jail and incarcerated.

Malcoln J. Smith, 31 years of age, Address-Orange St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 02/19/2018 @ 1:15 pm.

Charge: Warrant- Bank Fraud over $1000.00

   Malcoln Smith was located in the area of Railroad Ave. and East Blvd. and placed under arrest for an active warrant he held for the Morgan City Police Department. The warrant stems from an investigation that began in January of 2018, which alleges that Smith wrote checks to himself from a closed checking account and deposited those checks in a new account at one the local banks. Smith also is alleged to have made withdrawals from the account. Smith was booked and incarcerated.

Shanita Evans, 39 years of age, Address- Oak St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 02/19/2018 @ 5:39 pm.

Charge: Warrant-Failure to Appear for Trial

   Shanita Evans was located at her residence and placed under arrest for an active warrant she held for the 16^th Judicial District Court. Evans transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.

A patrol officer in the area of LA 182 near Pecos St observed a vehicle with improper lighting. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver, David Ackman was asked to provide a valid driver’s license. A computer check revealed that Ackman’s driver’s license was suspended. Ackman was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.

Patrol officers responded to the area of Belanger St. in regards to a disturbance. According to reports, Carolyn L. Bouillion was identified as one of the subjects involved. Allegedly Bouillion struck the victim during an altercation. Bouillion was also found to hold an active arrest warrant through the Morgan City Police. The warrant stems from an investigation conducted by patrol officers in August of 2014 when Bouillion allegedly took $40.00 dollars of U.S. Currency from the victim. Bouillion was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where she was booked and incarcerated.

Richard K. Hawkins, 42 years of age, address: Birch St. Morgan City, La., arrested on 02/15/2018 @ 1:13 p.m.

Patrol officers responded to the area of Terrebonne St. in regards to a disturbance. According to reports, Richard K. Hawkins was identified as one of the subjects involved. Resisting an Officer by Giving False Information

Patrol officers observed a vehicle being operated in the area of Marshall St. by a subject who was known to the officer as Joseph Jessie. The officer had knowledge that Mr. Jessie’s Louisiana Driver’s License was under suspension and he held several active arrest warrants through the Morgan City Police, 6^th Ward and 16^th Judicial Courts. A stop was initiated Jessie was taken into custody. The warrants through the Morgan City Police stem from an investigation conducted by patrol officers on February 11, 2018, when Jessie allegedly provided officers with a false name during an unrelated investigation. Jessie was later identified and warrants were prepared for his arrest. Katie J. Robinson and Herman L. Sonnier Jr. were identified as occupants of the vehicle. According to reports, Robinson was found to be in possession of suspected Marijuana and Drug Paraphernalia and Jessie was found to be in possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Sonnier provided officers with a false name prior to being identified. Sonnier was found to hold an active arrest warrant through the 6^th Ward Morgan City Court. The trio was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where they were booked and incarcerated.

Dequarius Louis, 20 years of age, address: Ciro St. Morgan City, La., arrested on 02/16/2018 @ 12:19 a.m.

Dequarius Louis was located and arrested in the area of LA 182 on active arrest warrants through the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office in Beaumont, TX. Allegedly during the investigation, Louis provided officers with a false name prior to being identified. Louis was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

Warrant: F.T.A. for Arraignment on 01/25/2018 (2 counts)

Investigators with the Morgan City Police Department Narcotics Division began an investigation in regards to the distribution of illicit narcotics in the Morgan City Area. During the investigation, Dearius D. Kenner was identified as the subject attempting to sell the illicit drugs. An investigator acting in an undercover capacity established contact with Kenner at which time they negotiated the sale and purchase of Marijuana and Alprazolam. Kenner agreed to meet the undercover agent at a local business in the area of LA 182. When he arrived he was taken into custody and found to be in possession of suspected Marijuana, Alprazolam, and MDMA. Kenner was also found to be in possession of U.S. Currency that is believed to be derived from the sale of illicit drugs. Kenner was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.
