     On January 07, 2018 at 5:17 pm, the Morgan City Police Department responded to a disturbance near the 100 block of Headland St. in Morgan City.  An investigation was initiated which resulted in the arrest of two individuals, Gage Ford and Galen Ford of Morgan City.  Gage Ford was initially charged with Aggravated Assault. 

     Investigators with the Morgan City Police Department continued their investigation, conducting a search warrant at a Short St. residence which resulted in the recovery of evidence indicating the use and possession of Marijuana, a controlled dangerous substance.  Evidence was also discovered which indicated that Gage Ford, a convicted felon, possessed a firearm during the disturbance which was allegedly discarded, resulting in additional charges being filed. 

     In addition, detectives discovered evidence which indicated that April A. Hudson, who was employed as an officer with the Morgan City Police Department had knowledge of the illegal activity taking place at that residence and that she failed in her duties as a public servant and a police officer to report that illegal activity as required by law and the Morgan City Police Department.   Based on that evidence, April A. Hudson was terminated from her employment at the Morgan City Police Department and subsequently arrested.

     April A. Hudson was booked at the Morgan City Police Department and released on bond.  The case is being turned over to the 16^th Judicial District Attorney’s Office for prosecution.  The investigation is continuing and additional charges may be filed if warranted.

Patrol officers responded to a residence on Maryland St. in regards to a disturbance. Officers arrived and Duane K. Shaffer was identified as one of the subjects involved. According to reports, Shaffer was found to be in an intoxicated state. Shaffer was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

Patrol officers responded to a residence in the area of Fig St. in regards to an unknown subject inside of the residence. Officers arrived and according to reports, when the victim awoke they found a male subject sleeping on their sofa. Officers located Benjamin Cheramie in the residence. Cheramie was arrested and when being taken into custody resisted officers. Cheramie was transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

Patrol officers responded to a residence in the area of Patton St. in regards to a disturbance. Officers arrived and Colbianta F. Spain and Shuna Robertson were identified as being involved. According to reports, Spain and Robertson were involved in a fistic encounter. Robertson was found to hold active arrest warrants through the Morgan City Police. The warrants stem from an investigation conducted by patrol officers on December 22, 2017, when officers responded to a residence in the area of Eleventh St. in regards to a theft. Reports indicate that Robertson allegedly took items valued at $1,314.00 dollars belonging to the victim. Robertson also allegedly damaged property belonging to the victim. The investigation continued and warrants were prepared for Robertson’s arrest. Spain and Robertson were transported to the Morgan City Jail where they were booked and incarcerated.

Patrol officers observed two male subjects conduct a hand to hand transaction in the area Fifth St. According to reports, officers came in contact with the subjects at which time Wedell Charles and Jerry Charles Jr. were identified. Wedell Charles admitted to purchasing marijuana from Jerry Charles Jr. The suspected marijuana was recovered from Wedell Charles. Jerry Charles was found to be in possession of U.S. Currency that is believed to be derived from illicit sales of narcotics. The area where this incident had taken place was within a Drug-Free Zone. Wedell Charles and Jerry Charles Jr. were arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where they were booked and incarcerated.

According to reports, Bourgois exposed herself and made sexual advances towards the officer. Bourgois was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where she was booked and incarcerated.

Gage Ford was located and arrested in the area of Ditch Ave. on active arrest warrants held by the Morgan City Police. The warrants stem from an investigation conducted by investigators on January 07, 2018 when officers responded to the area of Headland St. in regards to a disturbance. During that incident, Ford allegedly brandished a firearm and threatened the victim. Ford was arrested on that incident. The investigation continued and after subsequent interviews evidence was uncovered that Ford had concealed evidence after the initial incident. It was also learned through further investigation that Ford was a convicted felon prohibiting him from possessing a firearm. Warrants were prepared for Ford’s arrest. Ford was transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

Davis was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

Saucedo-Juarez and the victim were engaged in a verbal altercation when Saucedo-Juarez allegedly struck the victim in the presence of a small child. During the initial contact with Saucedo-Juarez he provided identification documentation that was found to be fraudulent. Saucedo-Juarez was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

Reports indicate that Zachary was found to be in possession of suspected cocaine. Zachary was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail for Chemical Testing. Zachary submitted to Chemical Test registering .131g% Blood Alcohol Content. Zachary was booked into the Morgan City Jail and incarcerated.

Fields was identified as an occupant. According to reports, Kapp and Fields were found to be in possession of suspected Methamphetamine, Marijuana, and Drug Paraphernalia. Evidence was uncovered during the investigation that the suspected Methamphetamine that Kapp possessed was destined to be sold in illicit sales. Kapp’s Louisiana Driver’s License was found to be under suspension and he held an active arrest warrant through the 16^th Judicial Court. Fields' was also found to have active arrest warrants through the Morgan City Police. Those warrants stem from an investigation conducted by patrol officers on March 21, 2017, when officers observed a vehicle being operated in the area of Seventh St. disregard a traffic control. A stop was initiated and Fields was identified as the operator of the vehicle. According to reports, Fields was found to be in possession of suspected Methamphetamine. The area where this incident had taken place was within a (Drug-Free Zone). The investigation continued and warrants were filed for Field's arrest. Kapp and Fields were arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where they were booked and incarcerated.

Evidence was uncovered that Gage Ford had brandished a firearm during the disturbance and began to allegedly threaten the victim. Gage and Galen were arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail for booking. The investigation is ongoing.

Charges: Driving While Intoxicated 3^rd Offense
                 Speeding 55 mph in a 35 mph zone

Patrol officers observed a vehicle being operated in the area of Hwy 182 at 55 mph in a 35 mph zone. A stop was initiated and Cliffton D. Adkins was identified as the operator of the vehicle. According to reports, Adkins was found to be in an intoxicated state. Adkins performed poorly on Standardized Field Sobriety Test. Adkins was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail for Chemical Test which he refused. Records check indicated that Adkins had two prior arrests for Driving While Intoxicated Offenses. Adkins was booked into the Morgan City Jail and incarcerated.
