MCPD Arrest Report 05/22/2017

Chief James F. Blair reports that over the last 72-hour reporting period the Morgan City Police Department responded to 108 calls for service. The following persons were arrested as a result beginning on 05/19/2017:


Jerroid J. Garrison, 24 years of age, Address- Federal Ave. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 05/20/2017 @ 3:07 pm.

Charge: Driving Under Suspension
               Unauthorized Use of a Moveable

   Officers responded to a residence on Federal Ave. in regards to a vehicle being used without the owner’s permission. According to reports, the victim stated that Jerroid Garrison had taken her vehicle without her permission. Officers were given a description of the vehicle and it was located in the area of Hwy 182 and Ditch Ave. A traffic stop was conducted and Garrison was identified as the driver. A computer check revealed that Garrison’s driver’s license was under suspension. Garrison was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.

Robert E. Byrd, 41 years of age, Address- Houma, La. was arrested on 05/20/2017 @ 5:53 pm.

Charge: Possession of Schedule II Drug- Methamphetamine
               Possession of Schedule I Drug- Marijuana
               Violation of Uniform CDS-Drug Free Zone
               Warrant: Failure to Appear (2cts) Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office
   The Morgan City Narcotics Division conducted a traffic stop in the area of Martin Luther King Blvd. and Hwy 182. Robert Byrd was a passenger in the vehicle. Byrd gave officers consent to search his person and officers located suspected methamphetamine and marijuana in his possession. The location of the traffic stop was within 2000 ft of a church, which is considered a drug free zone.  A warrants check determined that Byrd also held outstanding warrants for the Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office. Byrd was placed under arrest and transported the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.

Jamon Bias, 36 years of age, Address- Second St. Berwick, La. was arrested on 05/20/2017 @ 9:47 pm.

Charge:  Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon
                Home Invasion
                Possession of a Firearm in a Firearm Free Zone
                Aggravated Assault with a Firearm

  Officers responded to a residence on Egle St. in regards to a disturbance. According to reports, the victim stated that Jamon Bias forcefully entered his home and pointed a firearm at him. The victim was able to flee the residence and noticed that Bias leaving the area in a vehicle. A description of the vehicle was given to officers and the vehicle along with suspect was located on Aucoin St. Reports indicate that Bias did admit to having the firearm and having an altercation with the victim. The location of the incident was within 2000 ft. of a church, which is considered a firearm free zone. Bias is also a convicted felon.  Bias was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.


Jorge Torres, 43 years of age, Address- Terrebonne St. was arrested on 05/21/2017 @ 3:46 am.
Charge: Stop Sign Violation
                No Driver’s License
                 Improper Lane Usage
                 Driving While Intoxicated
                 Possession of Alcoholic Beverage in Motor Vehicle

   A patrol officer in the area of Fifth and Ferret St. observed a vehicle run a stop at the intersection.   A vehicle stop was conducted and the driver was identified as Jorge Torres. While speaking with the Torres, the officer could smell a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage emitting from his breath. Torres was asked to conduct the standard field sobriety test, in which he performed poorly. It was also determined that Torres did not have a valid driver’s license. Torres was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Dept. Once at the police department, Torres submitted to the chemical test for intoxication. Torres results were a .197 g% blood alcohol content. Torres was booked and incarcerated.


Kyle Q. Rhett, 26 years of age, Address- Gen. McArthur Morgan City, La. was arrested on 05/21/2017 @ 2:06 pm.

Charge: Warrant- Failure to Pay Fines on Driving under Suspension

                 Careless Operation

     Officers responded to the area of Marguerite St. and LA 70 in regards to a hit and run vehicle crash. According to reports, witnesses stated that a vehicle crashed into the rear of another and the vehicle continued north on Marguerite St. A description of the vehicle was given out and officers located the vehicle on Wren St. The driver of the vehicle was identified as Kyle Rhett. Reports indicate that Rhett admitted to crashing into the other vehicle. A computer check of Rhett’s driver’s license was done and it was determined that his license was suspended. Rhett also held outstanding warrants for the Sixth Ward City Court. Rhett was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.


Randal W. McKee, 40 years of age, Address- Gretna, La. was arrested on 05/21/2017 @ 2:22 pm.

Charge:  Warrant- Contempt of Court

    Randal McKee was located at a local business on Brashear Ave. A warrants check was done McKee and it revealed that McKee held an outstanding warrant for the Sixth Ward City Court. McKee was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.

Chief James F. Blair reports that over the last 24-hour reporting period the Morgan City Police Department responded to 40 calls for service. The following persons were arrested as a result during the last reporting period beginning on 05/17/2017:

Cade Ordoyne, 18 years of age, address: Brier St. Schriever, La, arrested on 05/17/2017 @ 3:40 p.m.

Charges: Direct Contempt of Court

Cade Ordoyne was arrested at the Morgan City Court after he caused a disturbance during court proceedings. Ordoyne was booked into the Morgan City Jail and incarcerated.

Farrah L. Ledet, 38 years of age, address: East 45th St. Cut Off, La, arrested on 05/17/2017 @ 3:45 p.m.

Charges: Warrant: F.T.A. for Arraignment on 10/18/2016 (2 counts)

Farrah L. Ledet was located and arrested at the Lafourche Parish Detention Center on active arrest warrants held by the 6th Ward Morgan City Court. Ledet was transported to the Morgan City Jail where she was booked and incarcerated.

Shakettia N. Skinner, 26 years of age, address: Railroad Ave. Morgan City, La, arrested on 05/17/2017 @ 5:00 p.m.

Charges: Warrant: Aggravated Assault with a Firearm

Shakettia N. Skinner was located and arrested in the area of Railroad Ave. on an active arrest warrant held by the Morgan City Police. The warrant stems from an investigation conducted in April of 2017 when patrol officers responded to the area of Mount St. in regards to a disturbance. According to reports, victims alleged that during a verbal altercation Skinner brandished a firearm and made threats. A warrant was prepared for Skinner’s arrest. Skinner was transported to the Morgan City Jail where she was booked and incarcerated.

Dakota A. Daigle, 24 years of age, address: Second St. Morgan City, La, arrested on 05/17/2017 @ 10:13 p.m.

Charges: Warrant: F.T.A. to Pay Fine on 05/09/2017

Dakota A. Daigle was located and arrested in the area of Second St. on active arrest warrants held by the 6th Ward Morgan City Court. Daigle was transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

Belinda Bourque, 43 years of age, address: Arenz St. Morgan City, La, arrested on 05/18/2017 @ 5:01 a.m.

Charges: Disturbing the Peace Intoxicated

Patrol officers responded to the area of Second St. in regards to a suspicious in the area knocking on doors. Officers arrived and according to reports, Belinda Bourque was identified as the subject in the area. Bourque was found to be in an intoxicated state. Bourque was transported to a residence on Arenz St. and instructed to stay home due to her level of intoxication. A short time later officers responded to the area of Brashear Ave. in regards to another suspicious subject complaint. Officers arrived and located Bourque as the subject that complaint was in regards to. Bourque was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where she was booked and incarcerated.

MCPD Arrest Report 05/16/2017

Chief James F. Blair reports that over the last 24-hour reporting period the Morgan City Police Department responded to 45 calls for service. The following persons were arrested as a result during the last reporting period beginning on 05/15/2017:

Gilbert C. Howard, 47 years of age, address: Youngs Rd. Morgan City, La, arrested on 05/15/2017 @ 12:29 p.m.

Charges: Warrant: Aggravated Assault (2 counts)
                  Warrant: Simple Battery

Gilbert C. Howard was located and arrested in the area of Youngs Rd. on active arrest warrants held by the Morgan City Police. The warrants stem from an investigation conducted by patrol officers on May 5, 2017 when officers responded to the area of Youngs Rd. in regards to a disturbance. Officers arrived and Gilbert C. Howard was identified as a suspect and had left the scene. According to reports Howard allegedly attempted to strike the victim with a weapon. The victim also alleges that Howard committed a battery on them. An arrest warrant was prepared for Howard's arrest.  Howard was transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

Christopher Sylvester, 21 years of age, address: Short St. Morgan City, La, arrested on 05/15/2017 @ 6:00 p.m.

Charges: Warrant: F.T.A. for Arraignment on 04/25/2017
                  Warrant: F.T.A. to Pay Fine on 04/25/2017 (2 counts)

Christopher Sylvester was located and arrested in the area of Everett St. on active arrest warrants held by the 6th Ward Morgan City Court. Sylvester was transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

Chief James F. Blair reports that over the last 24-hour reporting period the Morgan City Police Department responded to 40 calls for service. The following persons were arrested as a result during the last reporting period beginning on 05/18/2017:

Zackery Richard, 26 years of age, address: W. Madison Ln. Broussard, La, arrested on 05/18/2017 @ 11:04 a.m.

Charges: Warrant: F.T.A. to Pay Fine on 03/14/2017 (2 counts)

Zackery Richard was located and arrested at the Lafayette Parish Detention Center on active arrest warrants held by the 6th Ward Morgan City Court. Richard was transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

Tyre P. Banks, 46 years of age, address: Hwy 1 Labadieville, La, arrested on 05/18/2017 @ 2:46 p.m.

Charges: Driving under Suspension
                  No Insurance
                  Improper Turning

Patrol officers responded to the area of Roderick St. in regards to a vehicle crash. According to reports officers arrived and it was learned that Tyre P. Banks was the operator of one of the vehicles involved. It was learned that Banks conducted an improper turn prior to striking another vehicle. Banks’ driver’s license was currently suspended and the vehicle did not have insurance. Banks was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where she was booked and incarcerated.

David Blair, 40 years of age, address: Bush St. Morgan City, La, arrested on 05/18/2017 @ 5:45 p.m.

Charges: Warrant: Defamation

Investigators with the Morgan City Police Department Criminal Investigations Division conducted an investigation in regards to threats allegedly being made to the victim via social media. According to reports during the investigation, evidence was uncovered linking David Blair to the threats. A warrant was prepared for his arrest. Blair was located in the area of Bush St. where he was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

Larry J. Hatfield, 27 years of age, address: Choctaw St. Charenton, La, arrested on 05/18/2017 @ 6:07 p.m.

Charges: Possession of Marijuana
                  Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
                  Violation of Uniform CDS Law (Drug Free Zone)
                  Reckless Operation of a Motor Vehicle
                  Open Container

Investigators with the Morgan City Police Department Narcotics Division observed a vehicle traveling on US 90 in a reckless manner. A stop was initiated in the area of MLK Blvd and Larry J. Hatfield was identified as the operator of the vehicle. According to reports Hatfield was found to be in possession of suspected marijuana, drug paraphernalia, and an open alcoholic beverage. The area where the incident had taken place was within a Drug Free Zone. Hatfield was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

Lawrence J. Gash Jr. was located and arrested in the area of 6th St. on active arrest warrants held by the 16th Judicial Court. Gash was transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

Heidi Maize, 34 years of age, address: Mallard St. Morgan City, La, arrested on 05/16/2017 @ 9:59 p.m.

Charges: Driving under Suspension
                  Failure to Dim Headlights

Patrol officers observed a vehicle being operated in the area of Bowman St. with high beam lights activated. A stop was initiated and Heidi Maize was identified as the operator of the vehicle. According to reports, it was found that Maize’s driver’s license was under suspension. Maize was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where she was booked and incarcerated.

Jonathan P. Justilian, 27 years of age, address: N. First St. Morgan City, La, arrested on 05/16/2017 @ 10:15 p.m.

Charges: Simple Battery
                  Aggravated Assault

Patrol officers responded to the area of N. First St. in regards to a disturbance. According to reports officers arrived and learned that Jonathan P. Justilian was identified as a suspect who allegedly threatened the victims with a firearm and committed a battery on another victim. Justilian was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

Jason J. Ashley, 29 years of age, address: Campo Ln., Amite, La, arrested on 05/13/2017 @ 12:19 a.m.

Jason J. Ashley was located and arrested in the area of Leona St. on active arrest warrants held by the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office. According to reports Ashley was also found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia. Ashley was transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

Austin J. Stevens, 22 years of age, address: Fourth St. Morgan City, La, arrested on 05/13/2017 @ 02:04 a.m.

John P. Williams III, 17 years of age, address: Felicia St. Morgan City, La, arrested on 05/13/2017 @ 02:04 a.m.

Charges: Possession of Marijuana
                  Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

Patrol officers located Austin J. Stevens in the parking lot of a business in the area of LA 70. According to reports Stevens held active arrest warrants through the 6th Ward Morgan City Court. Officers made contact with Stevens in a vehicle at which time they detected an odor of marijuana emitting from the vehicle. Stevens was arrested and another occupant, John P. Williams III, was located in the vehicle. Officers located suspected marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Evidence was uncovered linking Williams and Stevens to the contraband. Williams was arrested and both subjects were transported to the Morgan City Jail where they were booked and incarcerated.

Trinity N. Todd, 22 years of age, address: Railroad Ave. Morgan City, La, arrested on 05/13/2017 @ 3:29 a.m.

Charges: Warrant: Contempt of Court

Trinity N. Todd was located and arrested at the Berwick Police Department on active arrest warrants held by the 6th Ward Morgan City Court. Todd was transported to the Morgan City Jail where she was booked and incarcerated.

Karen Strathman, 47 years of age, address: Shady Grove, Patterson, La, arrested on 05/13/2017 @ 6:28 p.m.

Charges: Disturbing the Peace Intoxicated
                  Open Container

Patrol officers responded to the area of Cottonwood St. in regards to a suspicious female. According to reports officers arrived and Karen Strathman was identified as the female in question. Officers made contact with Strathman and she was found to be in an intoxicated state and was drinking an alcoholic beverage in public. Strathman was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where she was booked and incarcerated.

Diana Simmons, 53 years of age, address: McDermott Dr. Morgan City, La, arrested on 05/13/2017 @ 7:16 p.m.

Charges: Disturbing the Peace

Patrol officers responded to the area of Chestnut Dr. in regards to a disturbance. According to reports officers arrived and Simmons was identified as one of the suspects. While officers attempted to investigate the complaint Simmons continued to cause a disturbance. Simmons was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where she was booked and incarcerated.

Carlton P. Moncada, 57 years of age, address: Karen Dr., Morgan City, La. arrested on 05/13/2017 @ 10:17 p.m.

Charges: Driving while Intoxicated 1st Offense
                  Possession of Marijuana
                  Careless operation of a Motor Vehicle

Patrol officers observed a vehicle traveling in the area of LA 182 swerving in the roadway and strike the curb flattening the tires on the vehicle. A stop was initiated and Carlton P. Moncada was identified as the operator of the vehicle. According to reports Moncada was found to be in an intoxicated state. Moncada performed poorly on Standardized Field Sobriety Test. Moncada was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail for Chemical Testing. Moncada was also found to be in possession of suspected marijuana. Moncada arrived to the jail and submitted to test and registered .141g% Blood Alcohol Content. Moncada was booked into the Morgan City Jail and incarcerated.

Milton Garrison, 39 years of age, address: Poncio St. Morgan City, La, arrested on 05/13/2017 @ 10:40 p.m.

Charges: Domestic Abuse Battery

Patrol officers responded to the area of Freret St. in regards to a disturbance. According to reports officers arrived and learned that Milton Garrison was involved in a disturbance and allegedly struck the victim. Garrison was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where she was booked and incarcerated.

John Christenson, 47 years of age, address: Edna St. Morgan City, La, arrested on 05/14/2017 @ 12:56 a.m.

Charges: Driving while Intoxicated 2nd Offense
                  Improper Lane Usage

Patrol officers observed a vehicle traveling in the area of LA 70 in an erratic manner. According to reports a stop was initiated and John Christenson was identified as the operator of the vehicle. Christenson was found to be in an intoxicated state. Christenson performed poorly on Standardized Field Sobriety Test. Christenson was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail for Chemical Test. Once at the jail Christenson submitted to test and registered .180g% Blood Alcohol Content. Christenson was booked and incarcerated.

Carlos E. Thigpin, 25 years of age, address: Southeast Blvd. Morgan City, La, arrested on 05/14/2017 @ 2:52 a.m.

Carlos E. Thigpin was located and arrested in the area of LA 182 on active arrest warrants held by the 16th Judicial Court and Morgan City Police. Thigpin was transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

Lantrell Ayers, 26 years of age, address: Mallard St. Morgan City, La., arrested on 05/14/2017 @ 10:49 a.m.

Charges: No Drivers License
                  Disregard of Traffic Controls
                  Principal to Resisting an Officer

Patrol officers were investigating an incident in the area of Robin St. in which a subject fled on foot from officers. According to reports a vehicle that was being operated by Lantrell Ayers was observed picking up the subject while officers were in active pursuit and taking him out the area. A description of the vehicle was provided and the vehicle was located by patrol officers. The vehicle was observed by officers failing to stop at a red light in the area of LA 182. A stop was initiated and Lantrell Ayers was identified as the operator of the vehicle. Ayer was found not to possess a valid driver’s license. Ayers was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated. The investigation on the original incident is ongoing.

Brodney T. Williams, 27 years of age, address: N St. Patterson, La, arrested on 05/14/2017 @ 7:34 p.m.

Charges: Warrant: Resisting an Officer by giving False Information
                  Warrant: F.T.A. to Pay Fine 01/17/2017
                  Warrant: Simple Battery

Brodney T. Williams was located and arrested in the area of Brashear Ave. on active arrest warrant s held by the 6th Ward Morgan City Court, Morgan City Police, and Patterson Police Department. The warrant from the Morgan City Police stems from an investigation in April of 2017 in which Williams gave investigators a false name during an investigation. Williams was transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

James Drew, 45 years of age, address: Sixth St. Morgan City, La, arrested on 05/14/2017 @ 9:52 p.m.

Charges: Driving under Suspension
                  Following Too Close

Patrol officers responded to the area of Brashear Ave. in regards to a crash. According to reports officers arrived and James Drew was identified as the operator of one of the vehicles involved. During the investigation he was found to be the party at fault in the crash and his Louisiana driver’s license was currently suspended. Drew was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

Vonkinion Johnson, 34 years of age, address: Southwood Dr. Houma, La, arrested on 05/15/2017 @ 12:16 a.m.

Charges: Possession of Marijuana

Tracy L. Johnson 05152017
Tracy L. Johnson, 32 years of age, address: Southwood Dr. Houma, La, arrested on 05/15/2017 @ 12:16 a.m. 

Charges: Possession of a Legend Drug (Mirtazapine)

Patrol officers observed a vehicle being operated in the area of Brashear Ave. with improper lighting. A stop was initiated and according to reports Vonkinion Johnson and Tracy L. Johnson was identified as the occupants of the vehicle. During the investigation officers located suspected marijuana, drug paraphernalia, and a large amount if a prescription drug identified as Mirtazapine. Evidence was uncovered linking Vonkinion Johnson to the suspected marijuana and drug paraphernalia and evidence was uncovered linking Tracy L. Johnson to the prescription medication that she did not hold a valid prescription for. Both Vonkinion Johnson and Tracy L. Johnson were arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where they were booked and incarcerated.
