On June 04, 2017 officers with the Morgan City Police Department Jail Facility and Patrol Division were alerted to a potential package that had contraband in it that was going to be introduced into the Morgan City Police Department Jail Facility. A search of the premises was conducted and officers located a package that contained suspected marijuana and tobacco products. The investigation was turned over to the Morgan City Police Department Criminal Investigations Division where investigators uncovered evidence that linked Kayla M. Aucoin and Samantha J. Landreneau, who were already incarcerated in the Morgan City Jail Facility, to the package that was located. Investigators also uncovered evidence that Matthew V. Harrigan conspired with Aucoin and Landreneau to have the package introduced into the jail facility. The area where the package was located was within a Drug-Free Zone. Warrants were prepared for Aucoin, Landreneau, and Harrigan’s arrest. Harrigan was located in the area of Young’s Rd. where he was arrested on the active arrest warrants and transported to the Morgan City Jail. Aucoin, Landreneau, and Harrigan were all booked into the Morgan City Jail and incarcerated. The investigation is ongoing and more arrest are expected. 

Brittany K. Cunningham, 23 years of age, address: Natures Way Walker, La., arrested on 06/09/2017 @ 10:13 a.m.

Charges: Possession of SCH II CDS (Methamphetamine)
                  Violation of Uniform CDS Law (Drug-Free Zone)
                  Improper Turn
                  No Registration
                  No Driver’s License on Person
                  No Insurance

Chance J. Boudreaux, 22 years of age, address: Railroad Ave. Patterson, La., arrested on 06/09/2017 @ 10:13 a.m.

Charges: Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

Patrol officers observed a vehicle make an improper turn in the area of Federal Avenue. A stop was initiated and Brittany K. Cunningham and Chance J. Boudreaux were identified as occupants of the vehicle. According to reports, the vehicle was found to be without proper registration, valid insurance as required by law, and Cunningham did not have her Louisiana Driver’s License with her. Officers also located suspected Methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. Evidence was uncovered linking Cunningham to the suspected Methamphetamine and Boudreaux to the drug paraphernalia. The area where the incident took place was within a drug-free zone. Cunningham and Boudreaux were arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where they were booked into the Morgan City Jail and incarcerated.

Patrol officers observed a vehicle being operated in the area of LA 182 swerving from one lane to another. A stop was initiated and Catherine Picou was identified as the operator of the vehicle. According to reports officers detected an odor of an alcoholic beverage on Picou’s breath. Standardized Field Sobriety was conducted in which Picou performed poorly. Picou was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail for Chemical Testing. Once at the Morgan City Jail Picou submitted to Chemical Testing which resulted in .120g% Blood Alcohol Content. Picou was booked into the Morgan City Jail and incarcerated.

Patrols officers encountered Austin C. Williams while handling an unrelated matter in the area of Sacred Heart Dr. According to reports, Williams displayed signs of nervousness upon seeing officers. Williams was found to be in possession of suspected Synthetic Marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Williams was in the presence of a juvenile at the time of the incident. The area where this incident took place was within a Drug-Free Zone. Williams was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

Patrol officers observed a vehicle being operated in the area of Federal Ave. without any operable brake lights. A stop was initiated and Earl C. Fabre was identified as the operator of the vehicle. Fabre’s Louisiana Driver’s License was found to be under suspension. According to reports, Fabre fled from officers while on the stop. After a foot chase, Fabre was apprehended by officers. Nathan Chaisson and Alarena Jarrell were identified as occupants in the vehicle. Reports indicated that suspected Methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia was located in the vehicle. Chaisson was also found to hold several active arrest warrants through the 6th Ward Morgan City Court. The area where the incident had taken place was within a Drug-Free Zone. Fabre, Chaisson, and Jarrell were arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where they were booked and incarcerated.

Patrol officers responded to the area of Front St. in regards to a subject who was smoking illegal narcotics. According to reports, officers arrived and Patrick D. Guarisco was identified as the suspect that was allegedly using illegal narcotics. Officers located suspected Synthetic Marijuana which was linked to Guarisco. Reports indicated that this is the 4th time that Guarisco has been arrested for this offense within the past few weeks. Guarisco was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

Aldwin R. Cox, 51 years of age, address: Union St. Morgan City, La., arrested on 06/13/2017 @ 1:57 p.m.

Charges: Theft under $750

Patrol officers responded a business in the area of Everett St. in regards to a theft. According to reports officers arrived and Aldwin R. Cox was identified as a suspect in the theft. Allegedly Cox had stolen a wallet that contained US Currency and a Cellular Device. Cox was located in the area a short time later. Evidence was obtained in the investigation linking Cox to the theft. Cox was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

Patrol officers observed a vehicle fail to stop at a stop sign in the area of Apple St. A stop was initiated and Ryan J. Kemp was identified as the operator of the vehicle. According to reports Kemp displayed signs of nervousness. Reports indicate that Kemp was found to be in possession of several tablets of suspect MDMA which was consistent with amounts destined for sale. Also located was U.S. Currency which is believed to be obtained from the illicit sale of illegal narcotics. Kemp also possessed an open alcoholic beverage. The area where the incident had taken place was within a Drug-Free Zone. Kemp was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

Patrol officers observed a vehicle being operated in the area of Victor II Blvd. and the driver was not properly restrained. A stop was initiated and Jose J. Cruz-Nicolas was identified as the operator of the vehicle. Cruz-Nicolas Louisiana Driver’s License was found to be under suspension. Cruz-Nicolas was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

Patrol officers observed a vehicle being operated in the area of LA 182 with improper lighting. A stop was initiated and Terrence M. Ballet Jr. was identified as the operator of the vehicle. According to reports when officers made contact with Ballet they detected an odor of marijuana emitting from the vehicle. They also observed that Ballet had a green leafy substance in his mouth and was attempting to swallow it. Ballet succeeded but reports indicate that other suspected marijuana along with drug paraphernalia was located. Ballet admitted to officers that he did ingest marijuana. Ballet’s Louisiana Driver’s License was found to be under suspension. Ballet had been arrested for marijuana on two previous occasions. Ballet was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

Officers intervened at which time Hillebran began to resist o and kick the officers. Hillebran was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where she was booked and incarcerated.

Patrol officers responded to the area of US 90 in regards to a crash that had occurred. Information was gathered that one of the vehicle’s involved had fled the scene. Officers arrived and a description of the suspect vehicle was obtained. According to reports during the course of the investigation, Jerry L. Norman was developed as a suspect. The vehicle involved was located along with Norman. During questioning Norman admitted to being the operator of the vehicle in the crash. Evidence was obtained that Norman had committed the violation which resulted in the crash. His Louisiana Driver’s License was found to be under suspension. Norman was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

According to reports the license plate on the vehicle Perez was operating was registered to another vehicle. Perez was also found not to possess a valid Louisiana Driver’s License. The officer also located an open container of an alcoholic beverage in the vehicle. Perez was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.
