Dava Leonard, 33 years of age, Address-Sixth St, Berwick,La. was arrested on 04/10/2015 @2:20 am.


Charges: Reckless Operation of a Vehicle
                 Improper Parking
                 Driving while Intoxicated
                 Hit and Run Driving 
                 No Drivers License
                 Possession of drug paraphernalia
                  Officers responded to a complaint of a vehicle being operated in a reckless manner.  Officers were able to locate a vehicle matching the description given to them stopped in the roadway with no lights on.  The driver was identified as Dava Leonard was found to be sleeping inside the vehicle.  Officers determined that Leonard appeared to be in an impaired condition, Leonard submitted to a field sobriety test which she did poorly on.  Leonard was arrested.  Officers also found through their investigation that Leonard ran off the roadway and struck a garbage can. During the encounter, Officers also located items determined to be drug paraphernalia inside Leonard's vehicle.  Leonard was transported to the Morgan City Police Department where she submitted to an Intoxilyzer 5000 test which indicated a blood alcohol concentration of .27g%.  She was booked and incarcerated.

Darbin Suazo, 20 years of age, Address-Chester Bowles, Morgan City,La. was arrested on 04/11/2015 @ 2:08 pm

Charges: Hit and Run Driving
                 No Drivers license
                 No Insurance 
                 Switched License Plate
                 No registration
                 Careless Operation
   
     Officers with the patrol division responded to a call of a hit and run accident.  The victim of the hit and run followed the vehicle and alerted the officers to the location.  Officers located the driver identified as Darbin Suazo.  Suazo was questioned about the accident at which time it was determined that he did not have a valid driver's license.  Officers also determined that Suazo's vehicle did not have insurance or proper paper work.  Suazo was arrested and transported to Morgan City Police Department where he was incarcerated.

Peter Grogan, 37 years of age, Address Railroad Ave, Morgan City,La. was arrested on 04/12/2015 @ 1:53 am.


Charge: Theft of Goods (value $21.50)


     Officers investigated a theft from a Hwy 182 business.  According to report store employees witness the suspect identified as Peter Grogan leave the store with merchandise he did not pay for.  Grogan was stopped as he exited the store and held there until Officer arrived.  Grogan was observed on video taking the items and after a short time inside the store leave with the items.  Grogan was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he remains incarcerated.

Cierra Wiggins, 22 years of age, Address-Patton St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 04/08/2015 @ 2:33 pm 


Charge: Warrant- Posssession of Marijuanna 1st Offense
               Warrant- Posession of Drug Paraphernalia 1st Offense
     Officers located Wiggins on Patton St. where she was arrested on outstanding warrants for the Morgan City Police Department.  Wiggins was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.

Renata Harris, 34 years of age, Address-Village Lane Amelia, La. was arrested on 04/08/2015 @ 4:16 pm


Charge:  Warrant: Sixteenth Judicial Court for Issuing Worth Checks
                Warrant-Sixteeth Judicial Court Drug Court       Harris was located at the Morgan City Police Department where she was placed under arrest for warrants for the St. Mary Sherriff's Office. Harris was booked and incarcerated.

Kayla Francise, 17 years of age, Address-Keith St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 04/08/2015 @ 7:18 pm


Charge: Engaging in a Fistic Encounter      Officers were dispatched to the area of Fifth and Everett St. in reference to a disturbance.  When officers arrived they were able to view video footage of Francise getting out her vehicle and engaging in a fistic encounter with another subject. Francise was located in the area and was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.

Charge: Warrant: Distribution of Schedule II CDS-Crack Cocaine

     Tyroy T. Charles turned himself in to the Morgan City Police Department investigators and was booked on an outstanding warrant in relation to an operation began by the Morgan City Police Department on March 27, 2015.  "Operation April Fool" investigated the street level sales of various narcotics in the Morgan City area and through that investigation, suspects were identifed and warrants obtained.  Tyroy T. Charles was booked and remains incarcerated with a bond of $100,000.00.

Bonnie V. Dupre, 26 years of age, Address-Arenz St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 04/01/2015 @ 3:00pm

Charge: Warrant: Bank Fraud

     Bonnie Dupre was located at local bank facility and placed under arrest on an outstanding warrant which was obtained as a result of an investigation by Morgan City Police Detectives which began on March 06, 2015.  In that complaint, Dupre is accused of making fraudulant deposits totaling $2,400.00 into an account and making purchases on those funds.  Dupre was transported to the Morgan City Police Department where she was booked and incarcerated.

     Warren Guidry was located at a Highway 182 motel and placed under arrest on outstanding warrants for several agencies.  He was transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated.

Alyssa L. Ashmore, 25 years of age, Address-Fifth St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 04/01/2015 @ 7:58pm

Charge: Simple Battery of a Juvenile
               Disturbing the Peace (Second Offense)

     Officers received a comlaint of a fight near the intersection of Federal Ave. and Aucoin St.  Officers arrived and learned from witnesses that a female, Alyssa Ashmore had approached several female juveniles in the area and physically attacked one of the female juveniles.  Officers learned the subject had left the scene prior to officers arrival.  Another patrol officer located a vehicle matching the description provided and located Ashmore.  Ashmore was questioned regarding the incident, however denied any involvment.  Officers were able to obtain video footage which recorded the attack.  Ashmore was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where she was booked and incarcerated.  She later bonded out on cash bond.

Monica Charles, 36 years of age, Address-Live Oak Patterson, La. was arrested on 04/02/2015 @ 2:20am
Charge: Theft-Value $14.29

     Officers dispatched to Waffle House on Highway 182 learned that a female, Monica Charles had ordered and consumed food, then left the premises without paying for the items.  Charles was located and advised officers that she did indeed leave without paying for the items.  She was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where she was booked and incarcerated.

Tina Vincent, 46 years of age, Address-Lakeview Dr. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 04/02/2015 @ 2:26am

Charge: Warrant: Second Degree Battery

     Tina Vincent was located on Highway 182 in Morgan City and placed under arrest on an outstanding warrant which was filed in regards to an altercation which was reported on March 15, 2015.  In that incident, Vincent is accused of committing a battery on another female which required medical treatment.  She was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where she was booked and incarcerated.

Thomas Tabor, 53 years of age, Address-Cypress St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 04/09/2015 @ 1:32 am


Charge: Resisting an Officer by Giving Falas Information
               Possession of Drug Paraphanalia
               Simple Assault
     A patroling officer investigating a traffic violation came in contact with Thomas Tabor. Prior to identifiing Tabor, he attempted to conceal his identity by using another name.  During the course of the investigation suspected drug paraphanalia was found on Tabor.  Officers also located identification on his person that indicated that he was Thomas Tabor. Tabor was arrested and transported to Morgan City Jail and during the booking process he took a fight stance and threaten to hit one of the officers. Tabor was booked and later released on bond.

Ashley Dowdy, 29 years of age, Address-Hwy 182 West Morgan City, La. was arrested on 04/09/2015 @ 10:14 am

Charge; Hit and Run Driving
               Driving Under Suspension
               No Insurance

     An officer conducting an investigation into a hit and run accident was alerted by a witness as to the location of the suspect vehicle. According to reports, the officer identified Dowdy as the driver. Dowdy admitted to hitting a vehicle at a Roderick St. business and leaving the scene. Dowdy was also was found to be driving with a suspended license and could not provide officers with proof of insurance.  Dowdy was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where she was booked and released after posting bond.

Taylor Richard, 17 years of age, Address-Fourth St., Morgan City,La was arrested on 04/07/2015 @ 10:55 am.


Charges: Warrant Criminal Mischief
Taylor Richard turned himself in to officers at the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked on an outstanding warrant for Criminal Mischief.  Richard was later released after posting bond.

Jovon Johnson, 21 years of age, Address-Park St, Patterson,La. was arrested on 04/07/2015 @ 1:49 pm.

                 Warrant violation of CDS Law(Drug Free Zone) 2cts

Jovon Johnson was arrested during the ongoing investigation with " Operation April Fool".  Johnson was located by investigators, placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he remains incarcerated.

Shannon Wainwright, 43 years of age, Address-Fifth St., Morgan City,La. was arrested on 04/07/2015 @ 2:25 pm

Shannon Wainwright was arrested after turnining herself in to officers at the Morgan City Police Department.  Wainwright was booked on outstanding warrants, and released after posting bond.

Sable Leal, 25 years of age, Address- Honey Lane, Morgan City,La. was arrested on 04/07/2015 @ 5:23 pm.


Charges: Warrant, FTA for the 16th Judical District Court- Improper Tail Lights
                 Warrant , FTA for the 16th Judical District Court-No Drivers License

Sable Leal was arrested after officers came into contact with her at a Hwy 182 motel.  Leal was found to be wanted by the 16th Judical District Court.  Leal was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department jail where she was booked and remains incarcerated.

A patroling officer conducted a traffic stop in the area of Ninth St., upon coming into contact with the driver identified as Eric Mclemore it was learned that he had outstanding warrants for the Sixth Ward City Court of Morgan City,  Mclemore was placed under arrested, transported to the Morgan City Police Department jail where he was booked and remained incarcerated.

Jared Hope, 25 years of age, Address-Hwy 182 West, Morgan City,La was arrested on 04/07/2015 @ 11:16 pm


Charge: Possession of Sch I CDS-Synthetic Marijuana

     Officer with the Morgan City Police Department responded to a Hwy 182 motel in reference to a narcotics complaint.  During the investigation officers located Ryan Sullivan and Jared Hope.  Officers while conducting the investigation noticed what appeared to be suspected Synthetic Marijuana.  Both Hope and Sullivan were placed under arrest, during the search of Sullivan after his arrest officers located more suspected Synthetic Marijuana on his person.  Both Sullivan and Hope were transproted to the Morgan City Police Department Jail where they were booked and remain incarcerated.

     A patrolling officer observed a vehicle traveling on Highway 182 with a cancelled license plate and stopped to investigate.  The driver, Aries Keal was found to be operating a vehicle with a suspended drivers license. He was arrested and tranpsorted to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated.

     Angel Hawkins and Tiryce Oliney were both arrested at the Morgan City High School after officers were advised that they became involved in a physical altercation while on school property.  Both were transported to the Morgan City Police Department where they were booked and released after posting a cash bond.

Charge: Reckless Operation of a Moving Vehicle
               Possession of Marijuana


     Officers received a complaint of a vehicle traveling through Morgan City on Highway 90 traveling at a high rate of speed estimated at 100 mph.  Officers were able to locate the vehicle and observed the reckless and dangerous driving.  Officer stopped the vehicle and identified the driver as Elkin Mesa.  Mesa was also found to be in possession of suspected marijuana.  He was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where the was booked and incarcerated.

Reginald K. Sims, 34 years of age, Address-St. Joseph St. Franklin, La. was arrested on 03/31/2015 @ 5:52pm


Charge: Warrant: Distribution of Synthetic Marijuana
               Warrant: Illegal Use of Controlled Dangerous Substance in the Presence of a Juvenile

     In a continuing investigation and "Operation April Fool", investigators were able to apprehend a suspect, Reginald Sims who was wanted on warrants obtained as a result of an investigation into the sales of illegal narcotics in the Morgan City area.  Sims was located in Franklin, La. by detectives and placed under arrest on the outstanding warrants.  He remains incarcerated with a bond of $75,000.00.  The effort to apprehend those suspects identified in the investigation began on March 27, 2015 and will continue until all suspects identified are apprehended.

Kylah S. Weeden, 21 years of age, Address-301 Patton St. Apt. #4 Morgan City, La. was arrested on 03/31/2015 @ 6:22pm

Charge: Possession of Schedule I CDS-Marijuana with the Intent to Distribute
               Possession of Schedule II CDS-Cocaine with the Intent to Distribute
               Illegal Carrying of Weapons 
               Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
               Transactions involving the Proceeds from Illegal Sales of Controlled Dangerous Substances

     Patrol officers acting on an anonymous tip in regards to illegal drug use traveled to 301 Patton St. Apartment #4 where they came into contact with a female inside the residence, Kylah Weeden.  Officers detected a strong odor of marijuana inside the residence and secured the residence for a search warrant.  Investigators obtained a search warrant for the residence and during the subsequent search located a .380 semi-auto handgun, additional suspected marijuana along with a Schedule II CDS-Crack Cocaine.  Detectives also located a large amount of cash beleived to be derived from the sales of illegal narcotics.  The evidence was seized and the female, Kylah Weeden was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where she was booked and remains incarcerated.

Williams J. Roberson Jr., 29 years of age, Address-Patterson, La. was arrested on 03/31/2015 @ 7:43pm

Charge: Speeding in a Posted Zone 51mph/30mph 
               Aggravated Flight from an Officer
               Reckless Operation of a Moving Vehicle
               Red LIght Violation
               No Insurance
               Failure to Obtain Proper Registration

     A patrolling officer observed a motorcycle traveling on Brashear Ave. at a high rate of speed and determined that the vehicle was traveling 51mph in a 30 mph zone.  The officer pulled into the roadway to make an attempt to stop the vehicle, however the driver continued to speed away from the officer.  The subject was observed driving in a reckless manner, disregarding a stop light and traveling at a high rate of speed.  Officers were able to maintain intermittent contact with the vehicle and again came into contact with the suspect vehicle as it approached an officers location near the intersection of Sixth St. and Arenz St.  The driver, lost control of his motorcycle and was ejected.  The driver, uninjured attempted to flee but was apprehended by officers.  He was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked . The subjects vehicle was found not to possess valid Louisiana registration nor motor vehicle insurance.  It was removed from the scene by wrecker service.  Roberson remains incarcerated.

Aaron M. Thompson, 36 years of age, Address-Dequincy, La. was arrested on 03/31/2015 @ 9:26pm

Charge: Simple Battery


     Officers dispatched to the area of Montana St. in regards to a disturbance were advised that the victim and complainant was attacked by a male and female subject.  Officers located a male subject in the area which fit the description provided.  Aaron Thompson was positively identified as the subject who had committed a battery on the victim.  He was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated.
