On March 27, 2015, the Morgan City Police Department conducted "Operation April Fool" in an effort to target street level narcotics violators in the Morgan City area. In a continuing effort, three more subjects were located and booked into the Morgan City jail facility as a result of warrants obtained during that operation. Mark Webb and Charles Anthony were located and placed under arrest without incident. Keith Singleton, after being spotted by a patrolling officer attempted to flee and was captured in the Eleventh St. area of Morgan City. All were transported to the Morgan City Police Department where they were booked and remain incarcerated. The operation which began several months ago is an ongoing effort to target the illegal sales of dangerous drugs in the area. The Morgan City Police Department will continue to pursue and ultimately arrest those violators identified in that investigation.

Morgan City officers located Page Mabe and Christopher Haynes at a Sixth St. address in Morgan City and placed then under arrest on outstanding warrants for the Sixteenth Judicial District for failing to comply with conditions of drug court. They were arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where they were booked and incarcerated.

A patrolling officer observed a vehicle being operated with improper lighting in the area of Railroad Ave. near Myrtle St. and stopped to speak with the driver. The driver, Caffery Williams was discovered to be operating a vehicle with a suspended drivers license and was placed under arrest. Officers also located an open container of alcoholic beverage in his possession inside the vehicle. Williams was transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated.

Officers responded to a domestic disturbance at a Ridgeway Dr. residence and learned that Thomas Giroir and a female had been involved in a verbal dispute which became physical. The victim, who advised she was struck by Giroir exhibited evidence of a battery. Giroir was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated.

Officers were dispatched to a pharmacy located on Marguerite St. in Morgan City in regards to a shoplifter. Officers arrived and were advised that a detained subject, Carlos Garcia was detained after he was observed committing the theft of a watch from the store valued at $21.65. Garcia was arrested and the watch recovered. He was transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated.

Morgan City Police Department received a complaint of a theft from a Walnut Drive residence and began an investigation. Detectives were able to identify a suspect in the theft at Wesley Bass who was accused of committing the theft of gasoline and marine electronics from another Walnut Dr. residence. Bass also identified as a suspect in the unauthorized use of a marine vessel taken from an additional Walnut Drive residence whilch he allegedly used in commission of the reported theft. Investigators developed information and obtained a search warrant for the Walnut Dr. residence occupied by Wesley Bass. Investigators executed the search warrant and located four suspects, Bass, Tanner Aucoin, Bree Aucoin and Kimberly Evans. During the investigation, detectives located suspected marijuana and items of drug paraphernalia. All were arrested. Bass was also arrested on warrants which were obtained by detectives as a result of the investigation. The subjects were transported to the Morgan City Police Department where they were booked and incarcerated. Officers patrolling the city wharf located a subject sleeping inside a vehicle and stopped to investigate. The subject, Desmon Cousins was found to be in possession of a pipe commonly used to consume illegal narcotics and was subsequently arrested. He was transported to the Morgna City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated.
