MCPD Arrest Report 08/17/2017

Chief James F. Blair reports that over the last 24-hour reporting period the Morgan City Police Department responded to 42 calls for service. The following persons were arrested as a result beginning on 08/16/2017:

Christopher J. Pollard, address: Marshall St. Morgan City, La., arrested on 08/16/2017 @ 9:18 a.m.

Charges: Driving under Suspension
                 Improper Turning
                 Warrant: F.T.A. for Contempt of Court 08/03/2017 (2 counts)

Patrol officers observed a vehicle in the area of Everett St. negotiate an improper turn. A stop was initiated and Christopher J. Pollard was identified as the operator of the vehicle. According to reports, Pollard’s Louisiana Driver’s License was under suspension. It was also learned that Pollard held active arrest warrants through the 16th Judicial Court. Pollard was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

Georgette Drury 08162017
Georgette E. Drury, 39 years of age, address: Clark Rd. Morgan City, La., arrested on 08/16/2017 @ 11:15 a.m.

Charges: Theft between $5,000 to $25,000

Melvin C. Sylvester Jr., Rebecca Sylvester, and Georgette E. Drury were located and arrested at the Morgan City Police Department on active arrest warrants held by the Morgan City Police. The warrants stem from an investigation conducted by the Morgan City Police Department Detectives Division in regards to a theft from a local business in the area of LA 182. The thefts occurred on several different incidences from July to August of 2017 where items of merchandise were taken without being paid for. It was learned that the amount of merchandise taken totaled over $6000 dollars. Melvin Sylvester, Rebecca Sylvester, and Georgette E. Drury were identified as suspects and evidence was uncovered during the investigating linking them to the crime. Warrants were prepared for their arrest. All three were booked into the Morgan City Jail and incarcerated. The investigation is still ongoing.

William S. Deans Sr., 39 years of age, address: Roselawn Dr. Morgan City, La., arrested on 08/16/2017 @ 1:16 p.m.

Charges: Violation of a Protective Order

Patrol officers responded to the Morgan City Police Department in regards to a violation of a protective order complaint. According to reports, officers arrived and learned that William S. Deans Sr. had approached the victim and threatened them. The victim currently held an Order of Protection against Deans Sr. Deans Sr. was located at his residence on Roselawn Dr. where he was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail, booked and incarcerated.

Nicholas Morris II, 29 years of age, address: Cross La Rue St. Morgan City, La., arrested on 08/16/2017 @ 7:15 p.m.

Charges: Warrant: Simple Battery

Nicholas Morris II was located and arrested in the area of LA 70 on an active arrest warrant held by the Morgan City Police. The warrant stems from an investigation conducted by patrol officers in May of 2017 when the victim alleges that they were struck by Morris. Morris had left the prior to officers arrival. Warrants were prepared for Morris’ arrest. Morris was booked into the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

Jermaine Brown, 26 years of age, address: Federal Ave. Morgan City, La., arrested 08/15/2017 @ 1:30 p.m.

Charges: Illegal Discharge of a Firearm

Jermaine Brown was located and arrested at the Morgan City Police Department on active warrants held by the Morgan City Police. According to reports, the warrant stems an investigation when officers responded to the area of Federal Ave. and learned that Jermaine Brown had discharged a firearm. Reports indicate that Brown accidently discharged the firearm which struck his foot. Brown received medical treatment and warrants were prepared for his arrest. Brown was booked into the Morgan City Jail and incarcerated.

Nathaniel Rollins, 21 years of age, address: Brashear Ave. Morgan City, La., arrested on 08/15/2017 @ 11:00 a.m.

Nathaniel Rollins was located and arrested at the St. Charles Parish Detention Center on active arrest warrants held by the 6th Ward Morgan City Court. Rollins was transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

Deonte D. Harris, 19 years of age, address: Lake Polourde Rd. Amelia, La., arrested on 08/15/2017 @ 5:30 p.m.

Charges: Warrant: Probation Violation

Deonte D. Harris was located and arrested at the Morgan City Court on active arrest warrants held by the 6th Ward Morgan City Court. Harris was transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

Within the past several weeks the Morgan City Police Department Narcotics Division began an investigation in regards to the illicit sales of illegal narcotics from a residence in the area of Victor II Blvd. During the course of the investigation, Oscar Quintanilla-Elizondo was identified as a suspect. A search warrant was obtained for Quintanilla-Elizondo’s residence. Quintanilla-Elizondo was observed operating a vehicle by investigators in the area of Federal Ave. Quintanilla-Elizondo’s Louisiana Driver’s License was known to be under suspension by investigators. A stop was initiated in the area of LA 182 in Berwick and according to reports, Quintanilla-Elizondo was found to hold active warrants for his arrest through the 6th Ward Morgan City Court. The Morgan City Police Department K-9 Division conducted a search of the vehicle with K-9 Lady. K-9 Lady showed the response to the presence of narcotic odor. A search of the vehicle produced suspected Methamphetamine, Alprazolam, Clonazepam, Subutex, marijuana, Ciprofloxacin Hydrochloride, and drug paraphernalia. Investigators with the Morgan City Police Department Narcotics Division along with the St. Mary Parish Narcotics Division executed the search warrant on Quintanilla-Elizondo’s residence. During the search of the residence investigators located several items of drug paraphernalia, suspected marijuana, and scales. Evidence was uncovered that the Methamphetamine was destined to be sold in illicit sales. Quintanilla-Elizondo was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.  

Francisco J. Gonzales, 43 years of age, address: Federal Ave. Morgan City, La., arrested on 08/15/2017 @ 9:52 p.m.

Charges: Driving while Intoxicated 1st Offense
                 No Driver’s License
                 Disregard of Traffic Controls

Patrol officers observed a vehicle being operated in the area of Brashear Ave. fail to stop at a red light. A stop was initiated on the vehicle and Francisco J. Gonzales was identified as the operator. According to reports, Gonzales was found not to possess a Louisiana Driver’s License and was to be in an intoxicated state. Gonzales performed poorly on Standardized Field Sobriety Test. Evidence was uncovered leading officers to believe that Gonzales was under the influence of some type of narcotic. Gonzales submitted to a blood test which is pending chemical testing. Gonzales was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

MCPD Arrest Report 08/14/2017

Chief James F. Blair reports that over the last 72-hour reporting period the Morgan City Police Department responded to 106 calls for service. The following persons were arrested as a result beginning on 08/11/2017:

Tommy D. Donati II, 35 years of age, address: Carter Ln. Berwick, La., arrested on 08/11/2017 @ 6:48 p.m.

Charges: Warrant: Probation Violation

Tommy D. Donati II was located and arrested in the area of Federal Ave. on active arrest warrants held by Louisiana Probation and Parole. Donati II was transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was booked and incarcerated.

Shane Granger, 29 years of age, address: Chetta Ln. Morgan City, La., arrested on 08/11/2017 @ 7:55 a.m.

Charges: Possession of Marijuana
                 No Driver’s License

Patrol officers observed a vehicle being operated in the area of Grizzaffi St. and the passenger was not properly restrained. A stop was initiated and Shane Granger was identified as the operator of the vehicle. According to reports, Granger was found not to possess a valid Louisiana Driver’s License and was also found to be in possession of suspected marijuana. Granger was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

Kenney Delgado, 27 years of age, address: Allison St. Morgan City, La., arrested on 08/12/2017 @ 2:17 a.m.

Charges: Driving while Intoxicated 1st

                 Improper Lighting
                 Improper Equipment

Patrol officers observed a vehicle being operated in the area of LA 182 with improper lighting. A stop was initiated and Kenney Delgado was identified as the operator of the vehicle. According to reports, Delgado was found to be in an intoxicated state. Delgado performed poorly on Standardized Field Sobriety Test. The vehicle he was operating was found to be equipped with improper equipment. Delgado was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail for Chemical Testing. Once at the jail Delgado submitted to Chemical Test which resulted in .127g% blood alcohol content. Delgado was booked into the Morgan City Jail and incarcerated.

Lonnie J. Stratton Jr., 24 years of age, address: South East Blvd. Morgan City, La., arrested on 08/12/2017 @ 11:20 p.m.

Charges: Possession of Marijuana
                 Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

A patrol officer working the Lake End Park Security Detail observed a vehicle parked in the area of the Judges Stand near LA 70. Lonnie J. Stratton Jr. was identified as one of the occupants in that vehicle. According to reports, Stratton Jr. was found to be in possession of suspected marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Stratton Jr. was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

Martin Luther Chatman Jr., 34 years of age, address: Third St. Morgan City, La., arrested on 08/13/2017 @ 1:00 a.m.

Patrol officers observed a vehicle being operated in the area of Veterans Blvd and the vehicle failed to stop at a stop sign in the area. The vehicle also negotiated an improper turn and was also observed swerving from lane to lane crossing the center line. According to reports, the officer activated their emergency lights to initiate a stop but the operator of the vehicle continued and failed to stop. A short chase ensued where the vehicle was observed running several more stop signs. The vehicle stopped in the area of Arenz St. at which time the operator, who was identified as Martin Luther Chatman Jr.,  was taken into custody. Chatman Jr. was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

Tayla Sullivan, 25 years of age, address: Leesville Rd. Medford, IN., arrested on 08/13/2017 @ 9:11 a.m.

Charges: Possession of SCH IV (Diazepam)
                 Disturbing the Peace Intoxicated
                 Introduction of Contraband into a Penal Facility

Patrols officers responded to the area of Maple St. in regards to a suspicious subject. According to reports, officers arrived and Tayla Sullivan was identified. Sullivan was found to be in an intoxicated state. Sullivan was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail. Once at the Morgan City Jail suspected Diazepam was located concealed on Sullivan’s person and she did not hold a valid prescription for the narcotic. Sullivan was booked into the Morgan City Jail and incarcerated.

Carr D. Coleman, 47 years of age, address: Greenville St. Raceland, La., arrested on 08/13/2017 @ 3:58 p.m.

Charges: Driving under Suspension
                 Improper Backing

Patrol officers responded to the area of Maple St. in regards to a vehicle crash. According to reports, Carr D. Coleman was found to be one of the operators of the vehicles involved. Coleman’s Louisiana Driver’s License was found to be under suspension. Coleman was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

Kenderick R. Howard, 38 years of age, address: Fir St. Morgan City, La., arrested on 08/14/2017 @ 2:53 a.m.

                 Warrant: F.T.A. for Arraignment on 02/10/2015 (16th Judicial Court)
                 Warrant: Domestic Abuse Battery (Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office)

Patrol officers observed a vehicle being operated in the area of LA 70 negotiate an improper turn. A stop was initiated and Kenderick R. Howard was identified as the operator of the vehicle. According to reports, Howard’s Louisiana Drivers License was found to be under suspension. Howard was also found to hold active warrants for his arrest through the 16th Judicial Court and the Assumption Parish Sheriff’ Office. Howard was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

The Morgan City Police Department is requesting public assistance in locating three suspects wanted in connection with an Armed Robbery that occurred in the Patterson Police Department Jurisdiction. Information has been received that these subjects may frequent the Morgan City Area. The suspects are considered Armed and Dangerous. Abbey L. Aucoin was located and arrested in the area of Cottonwood St. on active arrest warrants held by the 6th Ward Morgan City Court. Aucoin was transported to the Morgan City Jail where she was booked and incarcerated.

Wesley D. Clark, 26 years of age, address: Railroad Ave. Morgan City, La., arrested on 08/14/2017 @ 9:16 p.m.

Charges: Possession of Marijuana W/I/T/D

Investigators with the Morgan City Police Department Narcotics Division initiated a stop on a vehicle in the area of Sixth St. due to improper lighting. According to reports, investigators could smell a very strong odor of marijuana emitting from the vehicle. A large amount of suspected marijuana was located in the rear seating area of the vehicle. Wesley D. Clark was identified as one of the occupants in the vehicle. Reports indicate that Clark admitted that the marijuana was for him and it was destined to be sold on the streets. Clark was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

Cedric N. Anders, 28 years of age, address: Patton St. Morgan City, La., arrested on 08/14/2017 @ 9:44 p.m.

Charges: Theft

Cedric N. Anders was located and arrested in the area of Federal Ave. on active arrest warrants held by the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office. Anders was transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.  

David P. Barrilleaux, 50 years of age, address: Fourth St. Berwick, La., arrested on 08/14/2017 @ 10:53 p.m.

Charges: Driving while Intoxicated
                 Speeding 49 m.p.h. in a 35 m.p.h. Zone
                 Improper Lane Usage

Patrol officers observed a vehicle in the area of LA 182 traveling at 49 m.p.h. in a 35 m.p.h. zone. The vehicle was also observed swerving from lane to lane crossing the center line. A stop was initiated and David P. Barrilleaux was identified as the operator of the vehicle. According to reports, Barrilleaux was found to be in an intoxicated state. Standardized Field Sobriety was performed in which Barrilleaux did poorly. Barrilleaux was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail for Chemical Testing. Barrilleaux refused to submit to the Chemical Test at which time he was booked into the Morgan City Jail and incarcerated.

John R. Destefano, 51 years of age, address: South Grand View Daytona, FL., arrested on 08/14/2017 @ 11:18 p.m.

Charges: Disturbing the Peace Intoxicated

Patrol officers responded to the area of Myrtle St. in regards to a suspicious subject. Officers arrived and John R. Destefano was identified. According to reports, Destefano was found to be in an intoxicated state. Destefano was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

                 Warrant: F.T.A. for Arraignment on 09/23/2014

Investigators with the Morgan City Police Department Narcotics Division observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed in the area of Wise St. Investigators were able to catch up to the vehicle on Brashear Ave. and attempted to initiate a stop. The vehicle fled the area at a high rate of speeds traveling up Front St. disregarding stop signs in the area. When attempting to negotiate a turn onto Levee Rd. the vehicle lost control and traveled into a yard in the area of Utah St. striking a vehicle and a porch at a residence. The operator of the vehicle then fled the area on foot. After a short chase by investigators and patrol officers, the subject was apprehended. Dwayne C. Francis was identified as the operator of the vehicle. Francis was found to be in possession of suspected marijuana over 14 grams. It was also learned that while Francis was attempting to evade police he damaged a fence in the area. The vehicle that Francis was operating was found to have no insurance. His Louisiana Driver’s License was also found to be under suspension. The area where this incident had taken place was within a Drug-Free Zone.  Francis was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

MCPD Arrest Report 08/11/2017

Chief James F. Blair reports that over the last 24-hour reporting period the Morgan City Police Department responded to 42 calls for service. The following persons were arrested as a result beginning on 08/10/2017:


Jarrod Hudson, 30 years of age, Address- Onstead St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 08/10/2017 @ 8:17 am.

Charge:  Warrant- Disturbing the Peace (Berwick PD)

   Jarrod Hudson was located at his residence on Onstead St. A warrant check revealed that he held an active warrant for the Berwick Police Department. Hudson was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.


Christian A. Brown, 39 years of age, Address- Maple St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 08/10/2017 @ 10:14 am.

Charge:  Warrant- Failure to Pay Fines (3cts)

   Christian Brown was located by an officer on Justa St. A warrant check revealed that Brown held an active warrant for the 6th Ward City Court. Brown was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.


Nathushun D. Singleton, 39 years of age, Address- Breaux Bridge, La. was arrested on 08/10/2017 @ 1:23 pm.

Charge- No Turn Signal
               Possession of Synthetic Marijuana
               Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

   A patrol officer in the area of Redwood St. observed a vehicle fail to use its turn signal while turning on to Victor II Blvd. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver, Nathushun Singleton was asked to produce a valid driver’s license. During the course of the investigation, Singleton was found to have suspected synthetic marijuana and items used to smoke illegal narcotics in his possession. Singleton was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.


Jim Businelle, 58 years of age, Address- Carol Rd. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 08/10/2017 @ 2:11 pm.

Charge: Warrant- Probation Violation

   Jim Buisnelle was transported from the Law Enforcement Center in Centerville, La. to the Morgan City Police Department for an active warrant he held for the 6th Ward City Court. Businelle was booked and incarcerated.


Clarence J. Benoit Jr., 53 years of age, Address- Gibson, La. was arrested on 08/10/2017 @ 10:29 am.

Charge: Driving Under Suspension
               View of Windshield Obstructed

   A patrol officer in the area of Hwy 182 near Seventh St. observed a vehicle with a large crack spanning the length of the windshield.  A vehicle stop was conducted and the driver, Clarence Benoit was asked to produce a valid driver’s license. A computer check revealed that Benoit’s driver’s license was suspended. Benoit was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.


Jude Resignola Jr., 22 years of age, Address- Federal Ave. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 08/10/2017 @ 5:34 pm.

Charge:  Remaining After Being Forbidden

     Officers responded to a residence on Lesley Dr. in regards to removing an individual from the residence. Officer arrived and spoke to the victim. According to reports, the victim stated that Jude Resignola had been told by the victim and officers on a prior occasion not to return to the residence, but he continues to return to the location. Resignola was located outside the residence, he was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.


Joshua N. Bertrand, 39 years of age, Address- Levee Rd. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 08/10/2017 @ 6:29 pm.

Charge:  Driving While Intoxicated
               Improper Lane Usage

   Officers responded to a vehicle crash on Justa St. Contact was made with one of the drivers, Joshua Bertrand and he was asked to produce a valid driver’s license.  Reports indicate that Bertrand appeared to be under the influence of some type of narcotic. A standard field sobriety test was done on Bertrand and he performed poorly. Bertrand was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department. Once at the police department, Bertrand submitted to the chemical test for intoxication, which a result of .000g%. Bertrand was then transported to a local hospital where blood was drawn.  Bertrand returned to the police department for booking and incarceration.
