Chief James F. Blair reports that over the last 24-hour reporting period the Morgan City Police Department responded to 41 calls for service. The following persons were arrested as a result beginning on 08/09/2017:

Joel M. Floyd, 28 years of age, Address- Cross Rd. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 08/09/2017 @ 11:20 am.

Charge: Warrant- Failure to Appear (Patterson PD)

Joel Floyd was a passenger in a vehicle involved in a traffic stop. A warrant check was done on Floyd and it was determined that he held an active warrant for the Patterson Police Department. Floyd was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.

Keith R. Henderson Jr., 18 years of age, Address- Hilda St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 08/09/2017 @ 8:21 pm.

Charge: Warrant- Probation Violation

Keith Henderson turned himself into the Morgan City Police Department for an active warrant he held for the 6^th Ward City Court. Henderson was booked and incarcerated.

Kord T. Atkinson, 30 years of age, Address- Aucoin St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 08/09/2017 @ 10:17 pm.

Cody P. Pearce, 29 years of age, Address- Rose St. Berwick, La. was arrested on 08/07/2017 @ 5:52 pm.

Charge: Reckless Operation of a Vehicle
No Driver’s License
Driving While Intoxicated

Officers responded a single vehicle crash on LA 70. Contact was made with the driver of the vehicle, Cody Pearce and he was asked to produce a valid driver’s license. According to reports, Pearce stated that he lost control of the vehicle and crashed into the swampy area off of the highway. Reports indicate that Pearce appeared to be under the influence of some type of narcotic. Pearce was transported to a local hospital where he consented to have blood drawn. A computer check revealed that Pearce does not have a driver’s license. Pearce was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.

Herman L. Sonnier Jr. , 49 years of age, Address- David Rd. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 08/07/2017 @ 6:21 pm.

Charge: Theft under $1000.00
               Warrant- Theft (2ct) St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office

Officers responded to a local business in regards to a shoplifter. Officers arrived and spoke with management, who stated that Herman Sonnier had concealed items and tried leaving the store without paying for them. Reports indicate that Sonnier admitted to taking the items, he was then placed under arrest. A warrant check also revealed that Sonnier held active warrants for the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office. Sonnier was transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.

Tommy L. Harding, 28 years of age, Address- Friendship Lane Morgan City, La. was arrested on 08/07/2017 @ 5: 42 pm.

Charge: Warrant- Probation Violation
                 Warrant- Failure to Pay Fines (2cts)

   Tommy Harding was transported from the Law Enforcement Center in Centerville, La. to the Morgan City Police Department for active warrants he held for the 6^th Ward City Court. Harding was booked and incarcerated.

Heather R. Ganaway, 30 years of age, Address- Jupiter St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 08/07/2017 @ 6:30 pm.

Charge: Prostitution

The Detective Division of the Morgan City Police Department conducted an investigation of prostitution in the area via an internet site. Contact was made with an individual, later identified as Heather Ganaway. According to reports, Ganaway agreed to perform a sexual act in exchange for money. When Ganaway arrived at a local hotel, she was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.

Whitney Billiot, 40 years of age, Address- Leona St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 08/07/2017 @ 8:01 pm.

                Warrant- Simple Battery (2cts)

   Officers responded to a residence on Leona St. in regards to a Whitney Billiot having active warrants for the Morgan City Police Department. Officers arrived at the residence and made contact with Billiot. While trying to place Billiot under arrest, he began to resist and struck one of officers. Billiot was eventually subdued and placed under arrest. Officers also located suspected methamphetamine in Billiot’s possession. The location of the residence is within 2000 ft of an elementary school, which is a drug free zone. Billiot was transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.

Chief James F. Blair reports that over the last 24-hour reporting period the Morgan City Police Department responded to 37 calls for service. The following persons were arrested as a result beginning on 08/03/2017:
Bryan K. Wright, 43 years of age, address: Ponderosa Ln. Gray, La., arrested on 08/03/2017 @ 12:50 p.m.

Charges: Warrant: Violation of a Protective Order
                Warrant: F.T.A. to Pay Fine on 03/28/2017 (2 Counts)
                 Warrant: F.T.A. to Pay Fine on 04/25/2017 (2 Counts)
                 Warrant: F.T.A. for Trial on 03/16/2017 (2 Counts)

Bryan K. Wright was transported from the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center and arrested on active arrest warrants held by the Morgan City Police and 6^th Ward Morgan City Court. The warrant from the Morgan City Police stems from an investigation conducted by patrol officers in February of 2017 when officers responded to the area of General Hodges in regards to a violation of a protective order complaint. According to reports, officers arrived and the victim alleged that Wright was continuously contacting them via telephone and a valid Order of Protection was in place. Warrants were filed for Wright’s arrest. Wright was booked into the Morgan City Jail and incarcerated.

Anna Sauseda, 34 years of age, address: Clements St. Patterson, La., arrested on 08/03/2017 @ 6:20 p.m.

Charges: Warrant: Falsification of a Drug Test

Anna Sauseda was transported from the Morgan City Court and arrested on an active arrest warrant held by the 6^th Ward Morgan City Court. Sauseda was booked into the Morgan City Jail and incarcerated.

Jason J. Mathews, 35 years of age, address: Friendship Alley Amelia, La., arrested on 08/04/2017 @ 12:19 a.m.

Improper Turning

Patrol officers observed a vehicle negotiate an improper turn in the area of Patton St. A stop was initiated and Jason J. Mathews was identified as the operator of the vehicle. According to reports, Mathews’ Louisiana Driver’s License was found to under suspension. Mathews was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

German S. Funes, 36 years of age, Address- Laurel St. New Orleans, La. was arrested on 08/08/2017 @ 1:30 pm.

A patrol officer responded to the area of Park Rd. in regards to a vehicle driving reckless. The officer conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle fitting the description. The driver, German Funes was asked to produce a valid driver’s license. A computer check determined that Funes did not possess a valid driver’s license. The vehicle’s inspection sticker was expired along with no valid insurance. Funes was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.

Kayla M. Francise, 19 years of age, Address- Egle St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 08/08/2017 @ 6:02 pm.

Charge: Warrant- Failure to Appear for Trial

A traffic stop was conducted in the area of Hwy 182 near Everett St; Kayla Francise was a passenger in the vehicle. A warrant check was done on Francise and it was determined that she held an active warrant for the 6^th Ward City Court. Francise was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.

Matthew A. Tabor, 32 years of age, Address- Shady Grove Patterson, La. was arrested on 08/08/2017 @ 7:14 pm.

Driving Under Suspension

An officer patrolling the area of Hwy 182 near Martin Luther King Blvd, observed a vehicle fail to use a turn signal while changing lanes. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver, Matthew Tabor was asked to produce a valid driver’s license. A computer check revealed that Tabor’s driver’s license was suspended. Tabor was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.

Naomi Courville, 40 years of age, Address- Bush St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 08/04/2017 @ 9:12 am.

A patrol officer in the area of Brashear Ave. near Fifth St. observed a driver of a vehicle not wearing a seat belt. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver was identified as Naomi Courville. A computer check revealed that Courville’s driver’s license was under suspension. Courville was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.

Erving Knight Jr., 33 years of age, Address- Garber St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 08/04/2017 @ 11:02 am.

Charge: Warrant- Voyeurism and Nonconsensual Disclosure of a Private Image (Patterson PD)

Erving Knight Jr. was placed under arrest at his residence for an active warrant he held for the Patterson Police Department. Knight transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.

Chad E. Gros, 43 years of age, Address- Stephenville Rd. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 08/04/2017 @ 4:36 pm.

   A patrol officer in the area of Hwy 182 near Roderick St. observed a vehicle cross the center line of traffic. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver was identified as Chad Gros. According to reports, Gros appeared under the influence. A standard field sobriety test was done, in which Gros performed poorly. Gros was placed under arrest. Officers also located pills inside the vehicle identified as oxycodone.   Gros was transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he submitted to the chemical test for intoxication. His blood alcohol content .000g % . Gros was then transported to a local hospital where blood was drawn. Once returning to the police department, Gros was booked and incarcerated.

Jonathan P. Jacob, 32 years of age, Address- LaPlace, La. was arrested on 08/04/2017 @ 4:53 pm.

An officer in the area of Martin Luther King Blvd, observed vehicle going faster than the posted speed limit. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver, Jonathan Jacob was asked to produce a valid driver’s license. While talking to Jacob, the officer could smell an odor of suspected marijuana emitting from the vehicle. Consent was given to search the vehicle. The officer located drug paraphernalia, suspected marijuana, and methamphetamine inside the vehicle. Jacob was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.

Christen Williams, 23 years of age, Address- Louisa St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 08/05/2017 @ 3:52 am.

Charge: Possession of Methamphetamine
               Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

   Officers responded to a residence on Louisa St. in regards to a disturbance. Officers arrived and spoke with Christen Williams. According to reports, Williams had gotten into a verbal altercation with another individual. During the course of the investigation, suspected methamphetamine and items used for illegal narcotics were found in Williams’ possession. Williams was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.

Herman Jones, 51 years of age, Address- Arizona St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 08/05/2017 @ 8:48 am.

   An officer in the area of Sixth and Marguerite St, observed a vehicle with the driver not wearing a seat belt. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver, Herman Jones was asked to produce a valid driver’s license. A computer check revealed that Jones’ driver’s license was under suspension and his vehicle did not have insurance. Jones was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.

Jeric J. Bias, 41 years of age, Address- Arkansas St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 08/05/2017 @ 1:39 pm.

Charge: Warrant- Contempt of Court- Violating Terms of Probation

Jeric Bias was located at his residence and placed under arrest for an active warrant he held for the 6^th Ward City Court. Bias transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.

Mariah W. Jackson, 27 years of age, Address- Bush St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 08/05/2017 @ 2:20 pm.

   Mariah Jackson was located on Hwy 182 near Brashear Ave. A warrant check was done on Jackson and it was determined that she held an active warrant for the Avoyelles Parish Sheriff’s Office.                 Warrant- Failure to Pay Fines (4 counts)

   Officers responded to a residence on Park Rd. in regards to a burglary. Officers arrived and spoke with the victim who stated that items were stolen from his residence. During the course of the investigation, it was learned that Courtland Fullwood and Tracy Silva were in possession of the victim’s items. Fullwood and Silva were located in the area and placed under arrest. Fullwood also held an active warrant for the Morgan City Police Department for theft and disturbing the peace. The warrant stems from an incident in July of 2017, which alleges that Fullwood had stolen an item from a local pharmacy. Silva held active warrants for the Morgan City Police Department and the 6^th Ward City Court. The warrant stems from an incident in July of 2017, in which Silva is alleged to have used a counterfeit $100.00 bill at a local convenient store. Fullwood and Silva were transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.

Katherine V. Stoute, 25 years of age, Address- Hwy 182 Morgan City, La. was arrested on 08/05/2017 @ 10:36 pm.

                No Turn Signal

A patrol officer in the area of Hwy 182 and Roderick St., observed a vehicle fail to use a turn signal while turning into the parking lot of a local convenient store. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver, Katherine Stoute was asked to produce a valid driver’s license. A computer check revealed Stoute’s driver’s license was suspended. Stoute was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.

   A patrol officer in the area of Railroad Ave near Federal Ave, observed a vehicle with the driver not wearing a seat belt. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver, Orlando Flores was asked to produce a valid driver’s license. A warrant check revealed that Flores held an active warrant for the 6^th Ward City Court. Flores was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.

Rebecca Sylvester, 25 years of age, Address- Short St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 08/06/2017 @ 1:45 pm.

Charge: Domestic Abuse Battery
               Disturbing the Peace Intoxicated

    Officers responded to a residence on Short St. in regards to a domestic disturbance. Reports indicate that the victim stated he and his wife, Rebecca Sylvester had gotten into a verbal altercation which turned physical when Sylvester struck him in the facial area. According to reports, officers did observe a laceration on the victim’s face. Officers located Sylvester inside of the residence and she appeared to be intoxicated. Sylvester was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.

Billie Driskill, 41 years of age, Address- Park Rd. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 08/06/2017 @ 8:00 pm.

Charge: Warrant- Probation Violation

   Billie Driskill was located and arrested on Park Rd. for an active warrant held for the 6^th Ward City Court. Driskill was transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.

Dillion P. Burgess, 23 years of age, Address- First St. Patterson, La. was arrested on 08/06/2017 @ 11:00 pm.

Charge: Warrant- Failure to Comply with Drug Court (St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office)

   Dillion Burgesss turned himself into the Morgan City Police Department for active warrants he held for the 16^th Judicial District Court. Burgess was booked and incarcerated.

Susette M. Anslum, 42 years of age, Address- Two Sisters Court Morgan City, La. was arrested on 08/07/2017 @ 2:34 am.

Susette Anslum was transported from the Berwick Police Department to the Morgan City Police Department for active warrants she held for the 6^th Ward City Court. Anslum was booked and incarcerated.

Darrell Short, 56 years of age, address: Railroad Ave. Morgan City, La., arrested on 08/02/2017 @ 7:07 p.m.

Speeding 61 mph in a 45 mph zone
Open Container in a Motor Vehicle

Patrols officers observed a vehicle being operated in the area of LA 182 at a speed of 61 mph in a 45 mph zone. A stop was initiated and Darrell Short was identified as the operator of the vehicle. According to reports, Short’s Louisiana Driver’s License was found to be under suspension. Short was also found to be in possession of an open alcoholic beverage in the motor vehicle. Short was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

Joseph Jessie, 48 years of age, address: Utah St. Berwick, La., arrested on 08/03/2017 @ 5:05 a.m.

Improper Lane Usage

Patrol officers observed a vehicle being operated in the area of Railroad Ave. swerving from its lane of travel onto the shoulder almost leaving the roadway. A stop was initiated and Joseph Jessie was identified as the operator of the vehicle. Jessie’s Louisiana Driver’s License was found to be under suspension. Jessie was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.
