Patrolling officers observed a driver in the area of Roderick St. operating a cellular device within a school zone. Officers initiated a stop and came in contact with Nelly D. Montoya. During the investigation officers learned that Montoya did not hold a valid driver’s license. Montoya was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where she was booked and incarcerated.

Harvey J. Morgan was located and arrested in the area of Railroad Avenue on active arrest warrants held by the Morgan City Police Department. The warrants stem from an investigation conducted by narcotic investigators in January of 2017 where a vehicle was observed running a red light in the area of La 182. Investigators initiated a traffic stop and Morgan was identified as the driver. Morgan, who was acting suspicious, granted investigators permission to search the vehicle in which suspected Methamphetamine and Marijuana was located. The suspected narcotics were seized and sent to the crime lab pending analysis and an arrest warrant was prepared for Morgan's arrest. Morgan was transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

William J. Roberson was located and arrested in the area of South Railroad Avenue on active arrest warrants held by the Morgan City Police. The warrant stems from an investigation conducted by detectives in October of 2015 involving an alleged vending machine that had been burglarized at a local business. According to reports during the investigation Roberson was identified a suspect and an arrest warrant was prepared for his arrest. Roberson was transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

Patrolling officers observed a vehicle driving erratically in the area of Second Street. Officers conducted a stop on the vehicle and Katie J. Robinson was identified as the driver. The officers detected an odor of alcoholic emitting from Robinson. Field sobriety was administered which Robinson conducted poorly. Robinson was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail for chemical testing. Upon arriving to the Morgan City Jail Robinson submitted to chemical test and her blood alcohol content was determined to be .112g% according to reports. Robinson was booked into the Morgan City Jail and incarcerated.

Michael D. Thompson Jr., 22 years of age, address: Sixth Street Morgan City, La, arrested on 03/25/2017 @ 10:00 a.m.

Charges: Reckless operation of a motor vehicle

Patrolling officers observed a vehicle in the area of Fig St. traveling at a high rate of speed. Officers attempted to apprehend the vehicle but were unable to do so due to the vehicle’s speed of travel. According to reports officers observed the vehicle at one point spinning the tires causing smoke. The vehicle pulled into the Lake End Park at which time officers conducted a traffic stop. Michael D. Thompson was identified as the driver. Thompson was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

Davida Bias, 33 years of age, address, Fourth St. Berwick, La, arrested on 03/25/2017 @ 2:11 p.m.

Charges: Theft by Shoplifting

Officers responded to a complaint of an alleged shoplifter at a local business on La 182. Officers arrived and spoke with management and Davida Bias was identified as a suspect. According to reports the officer was advised that Bias had went into the business and placed an order for some seafood and requested that it was packaged a particular way. Bias was given the order and was observed later by employees in the business without the order she had placed. She was observed entering the restroom area and upon exiting that was area was check and the merchandise, valued at $25.78, was located. According to reports Bias admitted that she was attempting to steal the items. Bias was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where she was booked and incarcerated.

Donald J. Lewis Jr., 41 years of age, address: Fourth St. Morgan City, La, arrested on 03/26/2017 @ 9:06 a.m.

Patrolling officers observed a vehicle in the area of Ditch Ave. and the driver was observed operating without the use of a seat belt. A stop was conducted and the Donald J. Lewis Jr. was identified as the driver. According to reports during the stop Lewis was found to be in possession of suspected marijuana. The area where the incident took place was found to be within a Drug Free Zone. Lewis was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

Jamone D. Jones, 25 years of age, address: Marshall St. Morgan City, La, arrested on 03/26/2017 @ 10:51 a.m.

Charges: Warrant: Failure to Appear for Arraignment on 03/14/2017 (3 counts)

Jamone D. Jones was located and arrested on active arrest warrants held by the 6^th Ward Morgan City Court on the original charges of Possession of Marijuana, Driving under Suspension, and Failure to use a turn signal. Jones was transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

James M.E. Haydel, 31 years of age, address: Market St. Raceland, La, arrested on 03/26/2017 @ 1:55 p.m.

Patrolling officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a red light violation. During the stop James M.E. Haydel was identified as a passenger. During the course of the investigation officers learned that Haydel held multiple active arrest warrants through two jurisdictions. Haydel was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

Wesley R. Chappelle, 54 years of age, address: Emy Ln. Patterson, La, arrested on 03/26/2017 @ 8:38 p.m.

Charges: Warrant: Failure to Pay Fine on 03/01/2016

Wesley R. Chappelle was located and arrested in the area of Mount St. on active arrest warrants held by the 6^th Ward Morgan City Court. Chappelle was transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

Mark Broussard Jr., 27 years of age, address: Vivian St. Morgan City, La, arrested on 03/27/2017 @ 12:45 a.m.

Mark Broussard Jr. Was located in the area of North First St. arrested on active arrest warrants held by the Morgan City Police and Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office. The warrant stems from an investigation conducted by officers in September of 2013 in which Broussard was involved in an altercation. According to reports the victim suffered injuries that required medical attention. Broussard was transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

Jovian Clark, 35 years of age, address: Friendship Alley Amelia, La, arrested on 03/27/2017 @ 01:45 a.m.

Jovian Clark was located and arrested at the Morgan City Police Department on active arrest warrants held by the Morgan City Police. The warrants stem from an investigation conducted by officers in October of 2016 in regards to an alleged assault that had occurred. The complaint occurred within the Morgan City Housing properties and Clark was barred when the alleged incident occurred. Warrants were prepared for Clark’s arrest. Clark was booked into the Morgan City Jail and incarcerated.

Letitia Pailette, 41 years of age, address: Pecos St. Morgan City, La, arrested on 03/27/2017 @ 10:22 p.m.

Over the past few weeks the Morgan City Police Department began an investigation in relation to the sales of illegal narcotics at a Pecos St. residence. Investigators with the Morgan City Police Department Narcotics Division conducted a search warrant on the residence located on Pecos St. in Morgan City. Located inside the home was Jerieth J. Callery, Letitia Pailette, along with a juvenile. According to reports the Morgan City Police Department K-9 Division was utilized in the search of the home and located was a large amount of suspected marijuana and synthetic marijuana that was packaged in a manner consistent with the illicit sales of illegal narcotics along with scales and packaging material to facilitate such sales. Investigators also located suspected cocaine and a 12 gauge shot gun. During the investigation, evidence was uncovered by investigators linking Callery to the suspected Marijuana and Synthetic Marijuana. The area where the incident took place was within a Drug Free Zone. Callery and Pailette were arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where they were booked and incarcerated.

MCPD CID Investigators Seize Narcotics & Firearms

Kandise N. Chavis, 31 years of age, address: Glenwood St. Morgan City, La, arrested on 03/24/2017 @ 6:21 p.m.

Charges: Possession of Marijuana
Possession of SCH IV CDS (Alprazolam)
Violation of Uniform CDS Law (Drug Free Zone)

Morgan City Police Criminal Investigations Division were assisting Patterson Police Department with an investigation on an incident that led investigators to a Glenwood St. residence in Morgan City. When arriving to Glenwood St. Devin Andrews, Tamario Ulmer and Kandise Chavis were located at the residence. During the investigation evidence was uncovered that led to a search warrant being conducted on the home. Investigators located and seized a large amount of suspected Methamphetamine, Crack Cocaine, and Marijuana along with multiple items of drug paraphernalia. Also located were several firearms and Alprazolam which is a Schedule IV CDS. According to reports a large amount of narcotics along with a firearm and paraphernalia were located in a room belonging to Andrews. Suspected marijuana was located in areas belonging to Ulmer and Chavis along with Alprazolam linked to Chavis. The residence was located in a Drug Free Zone. Chavis was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where she was booked and incarcerated. Andrews and Ulmer were transported to Patterson Police Department where they were arrested and incarcerated due to the initial investigation conducted by Patterson Police. Arrest warrants have been prepared for Andrews’ and Ulmer’s arrest pending release from Patterson Police custody.

MCPD Arrest Report 03/24/2017

The following persons were arrested by the Morgan City Police Department during the last reporting period beginning on 03/23/2017:

Shanita Evans, 38 years of age, address: Oak St. Morgan City, La, arrested on 03/23/2017 @ 10:00 A.M.

Charges: Theft by Shoplifting

Officers responded to an alleged shoplifting complaint at a local business on La 182. Upon arriving officers spoke with management who identified Shanita Evans as being observed concealing merchandise in her purse valued at $56.29 according to reports. Evans was detained by store personnel at which time the police were contacted. According to reports upon speaking with Evans she admitted to the alleged theft. Evans was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where she was booked and incarcerated.

Joshua A. Falgout, 37 years of age, address: Sycamore St. Morgan City, La, arrested on 03/23/2017 @ 10:40 A.M.

Charges: Contempt of Court

Joshua A. Falgout ,who was incarcerated at the Morgan City Jail on prior charges, was arrested on active arrest warrants held by the 6^th Ward Morgan City Court . Falgout was booked into Morgan City Jail and incarcerated.

Taylor Murphy, 22 years of age, address: Green Leaf Blvd Morgan City, La, arrested on 03/23/2017 @ 1:55 P.M.

Charges: Theft by Shoplifting
Warrant: Probation Violation

Officers responded to an alleged shoplifting complaint at a local business on La 182. Upon arriving officers spoke with management who stated that a white female was observed concealing merchandise in her purse valued at $105.91 and had left the business prior to officers arrival. A description of the suspect was provided and moments later Taylor Murphy was located by officers in the area. According to reports when speaking with officers Murphy admitted to the alleged theft. During the investigation it was also learned that Murphy held active arrest warrants held by the 6^th Ward Morgan City Court. Murphy was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where she was booked and incarcerated.

Latifah Friels, 24 years of age, address: Fifth St. Morgan City, La, arrested on 03/23/2017 @ 4:00 P.M.

Charges: Direct Contempt of Court

Latifiah Friels was arrested at the 6^th Ward Morgan City Court on charges of Direct Contempt of Court. According to reports Friels did not abide by the terms or her court ordered probation. Friels was transported to the Morgan City Jail where she was booked and incarcerated.

Heidi R. Sams, 38 years of age, address: Fourth St. Morgan City, La, arrested on 03/23/2017 @ 6:28 P.M.

Charges: Probation Violation

Heidi R. Sams was located at the Morgan City Police Department and arrested on active arrest warrants held by the 6^th Ward Morgan City Court. Sams was booked into the Morgan City Jail and incarcerated.

Patricia A. Horton, 51 years of age, address: Cypress St. Morgan City, La, arrested on 03/23/2017 @ 10:24 P.M.

Charges: Warrant: Possession of SCH I (Synthetic Marijuana)
Warrant: Violation of Uniform CDS Law (Drug Free Zone)

Patricia A. Horton was located at a residence on Cypress St. and arrested on active arrest warrants held by the Morgan City Police Department. The warrants stems from an investigation conducted by officers in February of 2017. According to reports officers came in contact with Horton in the area of Egle St. During the encounter it Horton was found to be in possession of a suspected synthetic marijuana. The area where the incident had taken placed was within a Drug Free Zone. The suspected synthetic marijuana was sent to the crime lab for analysis and an arrest warrant was prepared for Horton’s arrest. Horton was transported to the Morgan City Jail where she was booked and incarcerated.
