Sophia R. Gonzalez was arrested at the Morgan City Jail on active arrest warrants held by the Morgan City Police Department. The warrants stem from two separate investigations conducted by patrol officers. One incident that occurred in June of 2016 in which Mrs. Gonzalez was involved in a vehicle crash in the area of Susan Dr in Morgan City. A blood sample was obtained during the investigation to be analyzed at the crime lab. Upon analysis of the sample it was learned that Mrs. Gonzalez’s blood alcohol content during the crash was .120g% BAC which is over the legal limit according to reports.Warrants were obtained for Mrs. Gonzalez’s arrest. The second incident stems from an investigation conducted by patrol officers in July of 2016 in which they came in contact with Mrs. Gonzalez. During the course of that investigation officers located a large amount of suspected marijuana and drug paraphernalia. The evidence was seized pending further investigation which led to arrest warrants being issued for Gonzalez. Mrs. Gonzalez was booked into the Morgan City Jail and incarcerated.

Officers responded to a complaint of a shoplifter at a local Hwy 182 business. Upon arrival officers learned that Pierron was observed concealing items of merchandise valued at $71.61 in a bag. When Pierron attempted to leave the business he was approached by management at which time he left the bag in the parking lot according to reports. It was also learned through the course of the investigation that Pierron held active arrest warrants held by the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office. Pierron was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and
incarcerated.

While on patrol officers were traveling behind a vehicle that was observed swerving on the road way on Hwy 182. Officers conducted a traffic stop coming in contact with the driver identified as Maritzela Martinez. While speaking with Martinez the officer detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage according to reports. Martinez was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Jail. According to reports upon arriving to the Morgan City Jail a chemical test was administered which indicated that Martinez’s blood alcohol content was .195g% which is over the legal limit. Martinez was booked into the Morgan City Jail and incarcerated.

While on patrol officers came observed a vehicle conduct a turn without signaling in the area of Seventh Street. A traffic stop was conducted and Jared Bergeron was identified as the driver of the vehicle. According to reports the officer detected that Bergeron was acting suspiciously during the stop. Bergeron granted the officer consent to search his person at which time suspected Methamphetamine was located. The location where the incident took place is within a Drug Free Zone. Bergeron was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

Introduction of Contraband into a Penal Facility
Two Brake Lights Required
Officers were on patrol in the area of Railroad Avenue when a vehicle was observed with only one operable brake light. A traffic stop was conducted in which Heidi Sams was identified as the driver. During the investigation the officer detected that Sams appeared to be nervous. Officers located suspected marijuana in plain view in the vehicle at which Sams immediately began to deny knowledge according to reports. Sams was asked if she had any contraband on her person at which time she indicated that she did not. Sams was placed under arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail. Upon arriving to the Morgan City Jail more suspected marijuana was located on Sams’ person. Sams was booked into the Morgan City Jail and incarcerated.

Driving under Suspension
No Turn Signal
While on patrol in the area of Maple St. officers observed a vehicle conduct a turn failing to use its turn signal while negotiating several different turning maneuvers. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver was identified as Christian A. Brown. According to reports when brown exited the vehicle the officer observed suspected marijuana falling from his lap. The officer conducted a search of the vehicle in which more suspected marijuana was located. It was also learned through the course of the investigation that Brown’s Louisiana drivers’ license was suspended. Brown was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.
Steven C. Robison, 32 years of age, address: Spottswood Circle Palm Harbor, FL arrested on 03/18/2017 @ 6:00 P.M. Charge: Disturbing the Peace Intoxicated
A patrol officer was flagged down by a citizen in the area of Ditch Ave. and alerted to a subject walking down the street that was walking with a alcoholic beverage falling down and stumbling in the street. The officer obtained a description of the subject and Stephen C. Robison was located in the area fitting the description. The officer observed signs that Robison was intoxicated. Robison was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and Incarcerated.
James A. Davis Jr., 18 years of age, address: Cardinal St. Morgan City, La, arrested on 03/18/2017 @ 6:10 P.M. Charge: Warrant: Failure to Appear for Trial on 09/15/2016

Carla J. Johnson, 55 years of age, address: Marshall St. Morgan City, La, arrested on 03/18/2017 @ 8:30 P.M. Charge: Domestic Abuse Battery (Felony)
Officers responded to a complaint at a local business on Federal Ave. in regards to a domestic disturbance. Officers arrived at which time contact was made with the victim. During the investigation evidence was uncovered that a battery had occurred from the boyfriend of the victim. Carla J. Johnson , who was identified as the suspect, was located on Marshall St. According to reports it indicated that Johnson has a prior history related to Domestic Abuse Battery. Johnson was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.
Amber Cook, 33 years of age, address: River Rd. Berwick, La, arrested on 03/19/2017 @ 11:10 A.M. Charge: Warrant: Theft of a Motor Vehicle
Amber Cook was transported from the Patterson Police Department on an active arrest warrant held by the Morgan City Police. The warrant stems from an investigation conducted by patrol officers in regards to a vehicle that was taken from a local business in February of 2017. Cook was transported to the Morgan City Jail where she was booked and incarcerated.
Alyssa K. Bane, 28 years of age, address: Hwy 397 Lake Charles, La, arrested on 03/19/2017 @ 4:45 P.M. Charge: Simple Battery
Correctional officers observed a fistic encounter between two inmates already incarcerated in the Morgan City Jail. According to reports it was learned that Alyssa K. Bane was the aggressor in the incident and allegedly attacked the victim. Bane was charged and booked into the Morgan City Jail.
Dat M. Duong, 49 years of age, Glenwood St. Morgan City, La, arrested on 03/19/2017 @ 9:23 P.M. Charge: Simple Battery
Remaining After Being Forbidden
Patrol officers responded to a Bernice St. residence in regards to a disturbance complaint. Officers arrived and the home owner wanted family members removed from the residence. The subjects were removed without incident. Shortly after completion of the complaint officers responded to another complaint in regards to a disturbance. Officers arrived and located one of the subjects removed from the prior complaint identified as Dat M. Duong. During the course of the investigation evidence was uncovered that Duong allegedly attacked the victim according to report. Duong was
arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.
