MCPD Arrest Report 08/07/2018

Chief James F. Blair reports that over the last 24-hour reporting period the Morgan City Police Department responded to 49 calls for service. The following persons were arrested as a result beginning on 08/06/2018: 
Carlos Ruiz Santos 08072018

Carlos Ruiz-Santos, 41 years of age, address: Main St. Patterson, La., arrested on 08/06/2018 @ 9:00 a.m.

Charges: Warrant: Theft $1,000 to $5,000

Carlos Ruiz-Santos was located and arrested at the Morgan City Police Department on an active arrest warrant held by the Morgan City Police. The warrant stems from an investigation conducted by patrol officers on May 05, 2018 when Ruiz-Santos allegedly took several sacks of crawfish from a local business in the area of LA 70. The investigation continued when warrants were prepared for Ruiz-Santos’ arrest. Ruiz-Santos was booked into the Morgan City Jail and incarcerated.

Calvin Acos ta 08062018

Calvin Acosta, 32 years of age, address: Landry Ln. Morgan City, La., arrested on 08/06/2018 @ 2:19 p.m.

Charges: Possession of SCH II CDS (Methamphetamine)

Investigators with the Morgan City Police Department Narcotics Division responded to a local motel in the area of LA 182 in regards to a report of drug activity. Investigators arrived when Calvin Acosta was identified. According to reports, Acosta was found to be in possession of suspected Methamphetamine. Acosta was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

Melanie Rink 08062018
Melanie D. Rink, 44 years of age, address: Sixth St. Morgan City, La., arrested on 08/06/2018 @ 2:38 p.m. 

Charges: Warrant: Unauthorized Use of a Moveable
                 Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

Investigators with the Morgan City Police Department Narcotics Division responded to a residence in the area of LA 182 in regards to a report of Drug Activity. Investigators arrived when Melanie Rink was identified. Rink was found to be in possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Rink was also found to hold an active arrest warrant through the Morgan City Police. The warrant stems from an investigation conducted by patrol officers on March 06, 2018 when officers responded to the area of Keith St. in regards to an unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. Officers arrived when they learned that Rink allegedly borrowed a vehicle from the victim for a trip to the store and never returned the vehicle. The investigation continued when warrants were prepared for Rink’s arrest. Rink was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where she was booked and incarcerated.

Talencia Thomas, 26 years of age, address: River Road Berwick, La., arrested on 08/06/2018 @ 3:09 p.m.

Charges: Warrant: Criminal Trespassing
                 Warrant: Disturbing the Peace
                 Warrant: Aggravated Assault
                 Warrant: Telephone Harassment

Talencia Thomas was located and arrested in the area of Railroad Ave. on active arrest warrants held by the Morgan City Police. The warrant stems from an investigation conducted by patrol officers on July 11, 2018, when officers responded to the Morgan City Police Department in regards to a complaint. According to reports, the victim alleges that Thomas had gone to their residence on June 25, 2018, and caused a disturbance. Thomas was instructed to leave by the victim and she refused to comply. Reports indicate that Thomas attempted to hit the victim with a vehicle during the altercation. After leaving the residence Thomas continued to contact the victim via telephone. The investigation continued when warrants were prepared for Thomas’ arrest. Thomas was transported to the Morgan City Jail where she was booked and incarcerated.

MCPD Arrest Report 08/03/2018

Chief James F. Blair reports that over the last 24-hour reporting period the Morgan City Police Department responded to 51 calls for service. The following persons were arrested as a result beginning on 08/02/2018:


Scott R. Barr, 35 years of age, Address- Bay City, TX was arrested on 0802/2018 @ 9:25 am.

Charge:  Criminal Sanctions for Operating Motor Vehicle
                Proper Equipment Required on Vehicles
                Warrant- Negligent Injury (2tc)
                 Warrant- Hit & Run

   A patrol officer in the area of Federal Ave. observed a vehicle without a license plate. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver identified as Scott Barr was asked to show a valid driver’s license. A computer check revealed the vehicle was not insured. During the course of the investigation, a warrants check was done on Barr and it was determined that he held active warrants for the Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office. Barr was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.


Teligia M. Busby, 52 years of age, Address- Marshall St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 08/02/2018 @ 5:03 pm.

Charge: Disturbing the Peace Intoxicated

   Officers responded to the area of Marshall St. in regards to an individual who was possibly intoxicated and was walking in the roadway. Officers arrived and made contact with the individual identified as Teligia Busby.  Reports indicate that Busby did appear intoxicated. Busby was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.

Clara M. Drexler, 36 years of age, Address-Franklin St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 08/03/2018 @ 2:30 am.

Charge:  Possession of Marijuana
                Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
                Owner Secure Vehicle Registration

   An officer in the area of Sixth and Marguerite St. observed a vehicle with a temporary license plate that was expired. A traffic stop was done on the vehicle and the driver; Clara Drexler was asked to produce a valid driver’s license.  Reports indicate that the officer could smell an odor of marijuana emitting from the vehicle. Drexler gave the officer consent to search the vehicle and suspected marijuana and drug paraphernalia were located. Drexler was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.

Chief James F. Blair reports that over the last 24-hour reporting period the Morgan City Police Department responded to 43 calls for service. The following persons were arrested as a result beginning on 07/31/2018:


Paris N. Bias, 27 years of age, Address- Lena St. Lafayette, La. was arrested on 07/31/2018 @ 9:01 pm.

Charge:  Warrant-Failure to Appear for Issuing Worthless Checks

   Paris Bias was located on Allison St. and placed under arrest for an active warrant she held for the 16th Judicial District Court. Bias transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.


Samantha A. Manuel, 20 years of age, Address-Eunice, LA was arrested on 07/31/2018 @ 9:57 pm.

Charge:  Possession of Marijuana
                Possession of Sch II CDS- Dextroamphetamine
                 Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

   The Morgan City Police Department Narcotics Division responded to a local motel on LA Hwy 182 in regards to possible illegal drug activity. Officers made contact with an individual identified as Samantha Manuel, who was an occupant of one of the motel rooms.  Reports indicate that an odor of marijuana was emitting from the room, while Manuel was speaking with officers. Consent to search the room was given and officers located suspected marijuana, pills identified as dextroamphetamine for which Manuel did not have a prescription and drug paraphernalia. Manuel was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.


Ryan LeBlanc, 35 years of age, Address- Lanza Lane New Iberia, La. was arrested on 07/31/2018 @ 11:30 pm.

Charge:  Possession of Marijuana
                  Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

     Officers responded to a local motel on LA Hwy 182 in regards to individuals smoking illegal drugs in one of the rooms. Officers arrived and made contact with the occupant of the room, Ryan LeBlanc. According to reports, officers could smell a strong odor of marijuana emitting from the room.  LeBlanc gave officers consent to search the room in which suspected marijuana and drug paraphernalia was located. LeBlanc was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.

Kentrell F. Diggs, 26 years of age, Address- Donaldsonville, La. was arrested on 08/01/2018 @ 12:11 am.

Charge:  Warrant-Failure to Appear for Trial

   Kentrell Diggs was transported from the Berwick Police Department to the Morgan City Police Department for an active warrant he held for the 6th Ward City Court. Diggs was booked and incarcerated.

MCPD Arrest Report 08/06/2018

Chief James F. Blair reports that over the last 72-hour reporting period the Morgan City Police Department responded to 140 calls for service. The following persons were arrested as a result beginning on 08/03/2018:

Joshua S. Miller, 22 years of age, address: Boudreaux St. Morgan City, La., arrested on 08/03/2018 @ 2:23 p.m.

Charges: Warrant: F.T.A. to Pay Probation Fee on 04/03/2018

Joshua S. Miller was located and arrested in the area of Federal Ave. on an active arrest warrant held by the 6th Ward Morgan City Court. Miller was transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

Keith M. Fontenot, 32 years of age, address: Rodeo Rd. Abbeville, La., arrested on 08/03/2018 @ 4:48 p.m.

Charges: Possession of Marijuana
                 Disregard of Traffic Controls
 
Jerome Landry, 51 years of age, address: Duroq St. Abbeville, La., arrested on 08/03/2018 @ 4:48 p.m.

Investigators with the Morgan City Police Department Narcotics Division observed a vehicle being operated in the area of MLK Blvd disregard a traffic control. A stop was initiated when Keith M. Fontenot was identified as the operator of the vehicle. Jerome Landry was an occupant. According to reports, Fontenot and Landry were found to be in possession of suspected Marijuana. Landry was further found to be in possession of Synthetic Marijuana and Drug Paraphernalia. Fontenot and Landry were arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where they were booked and incarcerated.

Dwayne J. Romero, 53 years of age, address: Bush St. Morgan City, La., arrested on 08/03/2018 @ 5:16 p.m.

Charges: Driving while Intoxicated 1st Offense
                 Resisting an Officer

Patrol officers responded to a local business in the area of LA 182 in regards to a potential drunk driver. Officers arrived when the vehicle in question was located. The operator of the vehicle who was eventually identified as Dwayne J. Romero was observed exiting the vehicle. A stop was initiated when Romero allegedly reentered the vehicle and pulled away disobeying officers orders. He stopped shortly after in the area. Romero was found to be in an intoxicated state. Romero performed poorly on Standardized Field Sobriety Test. Romero was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail for Chemical Intoxication which he refused to submit to. Romero was booked into the Morgan City Jail and incarcerated.

Eric W. Howard, 20 years of age, address: Mount St. Morgan City, La., arrested on 08/03/2018 @ 10:10 p.m.

Charges: Resisting an Officer by giving False Information

Patrol officers initiated a stop on a vehicle in the area of Federal Ave. in which Eric W. Howard was identified as an occupant. According to reports, Howard allegedly provided officers with a false name upon initial contact. Howard was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

Larry G. Barnett, 39 years of age, address: Sixth St. Morgan City, La., arrested on 08/04/2018 @ 7:21 a.m.

Charges: Domestic Abuse Battery-Child Endangerment Law
                 Simple Battery
                 Warrant: F.T.A. for Revocation on 05/17/2018

Patrol officers responded to the area of Sixth St. in regards to a disturbance. Officer arrived when Larry G. Barnett was identified as one of the parties involved. According to reports, Barnett allegedly struck two separate victims during the altercation. There was also a small child present. Barnett was also found to hold an active arrest warrant through the 16th Judicial Court. Barnett was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

Taylor J. Davis, 20 years of age, address: Natalie Ln. Patterson, La., arrested on 08/05/2018 @ 1:25 a.m.

Charges: Disturbing the Peace Intoxicated
                 Entry or Remaining in Places after being Forbidden

Patrol officers responded to the area of LA 182 in regards to a disturbance. Officers arrived when Taylor J. Davis was identified as one of the parties involved. According to reports, Davis was found to be in an intoxicated state. Reports indicate that Davis was instructed to leave the establishment which he refused to do so. Davis was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

Collin R. Granger, 39 years of age, address: Bowman St. Morgan City, La., arrested on 08/05/2018 @ 2:36 a.m.

Charges: Warrant: F.T.A. for Revocation on 11/04/2011
                 Improper Lane Usage
                 Expired Driver’s License

Patrol officers observed a vehicle being operated in the area of LA 182 in an erratic manner. A stop was initiated when Collin R. Granger was identified as the operator of the vehicle. According to reports, Granger’s Louisiana Driver’s License was found to be expired. Granger was also found to hold an active arrest warrant through the 16th Judicial Court. Granger was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

Myles Morgan, 30 years of age, address: Front St. Morgan City, La., arrested on 08/05/2018 @ 11:15 p.m.

Charges: Warrant: F.T.A. to Pay Probation Fee on 02/06/2018

Myles Morgan was located and arrested in the area of LA 182 on an active arrest warrant held by the 6th Ward Morgan City Court. Morgan was transported to the Morgan City Jail where he was booked and incarcerated.

Chief James F. Blair reports that over the last 24-hour reporting period the Morgan City Police Department responded to 38 calls for service. The following persons were arrested as a result beginning on 08/01/2018:


Colby T. Nicholas, 18 years of age, Address- Wren St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 08/01/2018 @ 5:07 pm.

Charge:  Remaining After Being Forbidden

   An officer observed an individual identified as Colby Nicholas in the Brownell Homes Housing Authority area. Nicholas had previously been barred from all property of the Morgan City Housing Authority. Officers made contact with Nicholas and placed him under arrest. Nicholas was transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.


Christopher D. Woods, 26 years of age, Address- Eleventh St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 08/01/2018 @ 8:23 pm.

Charge:  Warrant-Probation Violation

   Christopher Woods was located at a motel on LA Hwy 182 and placed under arrest for an active warrant he held for the Louisiana Office of Probation and Parole.  Woods was transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.


Kristi Dupuy, 18 years of age, Address- Roderick St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 08/01/2018 @ 9:56 pm.

Kade Percle 08012018

Kade M. Percle, 18 years of age, Address- Roderick St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 08/01/2018 @ 9:56 pm.

Charge:  Possession of Marijuana
                 Possession with Intent to Distribute Sch IV CDS- Xanax
                 Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
                 Illegal Use of CDS in the Presence of Person Under 17

   The Morgan City Police Department Narcotics Division responded to an apartment complex on Roderick St. in regards to illegal drug activity. Officers made contact with two individuals at one of the apartments who were identified as Kristi Dupuy and Kade Percle.  Also present inside the residence were two juveniles under the age of 17. According to reports, officers could smell an odor of marijuana emitting from the apartment, while speaking to the individuals. Dupuy gave officers consent to search the apartment. Officers were able to locate suspected marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Officers also located a large number of pills identified as Xanax in Percle’s possession. Dupuy and Percle were placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.

MCPD Arrest Report 07/31/2018

Chief James F. Blair reports that over the last 24-hour reporting period the Morgan City Police Department responded to 50 calls for service. The following persons were arrested as a result beginning on 07/30/2018:

Turner Markita 07302018
 

Markita L. Turner, 28 years of age, Address- Terrebonne St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 07/30/2018 @ 6:11 pm.

Charge: Theft under $ $1000.00

   Officers responded to a local business on LA Hwy 70 in regards to a shoplifter. When officers arrived, management had detained Markita Turner.  According to reports, Turner tried leaving the business with items she did not purchase. Reports indicate that Turner admitted to the theft of items totaling $46.75.  Turner was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.


Toby D. Everage, 19 years of age, Address- Fairview Dr. Berwick, La. was arrested on 07/31/2018 @ 2:33 am.

Charge:  Possession of Marijuana
                Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
                 Illegal Use of CDS in Presence of Person Under 17

   Officers responded to a local motel on LA Hwy 182 in regards to possible illegal drug activity. Officers arrived and made contact with two individuals identified as Toby Everage and 15-year-old male juvenile at one of the rooms. While speaking with the individuals, officers could smell an odor of marijuana emitting from the room. Officers were given consent to search the room; suspected marijuana and drug paraphernalia were located. Both Everage and the juvenile were placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking. The juvenile was released to a guardian. Everage was incarcerated.


Frankie L. Tarver, 29 years of age, Address- Eleventh St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 07/31/2018 @ 6:29 am.

Charge:  Criminal Damage to Property

  Officers responded to a residence on Eleventh St. in regards to a disturbance. When officers arrived the victim stated that Frankie Tarver had flattened one of the tires of her vehicle.  Offices made contact with Tarver, who according to reports, admitted to damaging the tire.  Tarver was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.
