MCPD Arrest Report 11/26/2018

Chief James F. Blair reports that over the extended holiday weekend Morgan City Police Department responded to 155 calls for service. The following person(s) were arrested as a result beginning on 11/21/2018:

Charles A. Watts Jr, 21 years of age, Address-Willow St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 11/21/2018 @ 10:40 am.

Charge: Warrant-Probation Violation

   Charles Watts was located in the area of Levee Rd and Lawrence St. and placed under arrest for an active warrant he held for the 6th Ward City Court. Watts was transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.

Colby J. Gros, 30 years of age, Address-Pecan St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 11/21/2018 @ 10:27 pm.

Krystee Majeres 11222018
Krystee L. Majeres, 27 years of age, Address-Sixth St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 11/21/2018 @ 10:27 pm.

Charge: Resisting an Officer
               Possession of Alcoholic Beverages in Motor Vehicle
               Obstruction of Justice-Tampering with Evidence

   An officer in the area of Federal Ave. and Levee Rd. observed a vehicle traveling at a high of speed and swerving in and out the lane of travel. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver, Colby Gros was asked to produce a valid driver’s license. Reports indicate Gros appeared intoxicated. While speaking with Gros, the passenger identified as Krystee Majeres exited the vehicle and tried to retrieve something from Gros’ pockets. When officers tried to restrain her, she began to resist officers, she was later subdued and placed under arrest. Officers also observed four children inside the vehicle along with an open container of an alcoholic beverage.  Gros was asked to perform the Standardized Field Sobriety Test in which he performed poorly. Gros was placed under arrest. Suspected cocaine and drug paraphernalia was located in Gros’s possession. Both Gros and Majeres were transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking. Once at the police department, Gros refused the chemical test for intoxication. A warrant was obtained to have blown drawn from Gros.  Gros was transported to a medical facility for the withdrawal and those results are pending. Gros transported back to the Morgan City Police Department. Gros and Majeres were booked and incarcerated.  

Joshua R. Frantz, 31 years of age, Address-Floresville, TX was arrested on 11/23/2018 @ 3:29 am.

Charge: Criminal Damage to Property
               Disturbing the Peace Intoxicated

   Officers responded to a business on LA Hwy 182 in regards to a disturbance. Officers arrived and were told by witnesses that an individual identified as Joshua Frantz entered the business to use the ATM machine, but became upset and started damaging the machine. Officers made contact with Frantz, who appeared intoxicated. Frantz was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.

Jenry Lopez-Garcia, 37 years of age, Address-Louisa St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 11/23/2018 @ 10:59 pm.

Charge: Disturbing the Peace Intoxicated

  Officers responded to a business on Victor II Blvd. in regards to an individual causing a disturbance with the employees. Officers arrived and Jenry Lopez-Garcia was identified as the individual causing the disturbance. Lopez-Garcia appeared intoxicated. Officers placed Lopez-Garcia under arrest and transported him to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.

Dewayna Jones, 23 years of age, Address-Plum St. Patterson, La. was arrested on 11/23/2018 @ 11:20 pm.

Charge: Warrant-Failure to Pay Fine

   Dewayna Jones was placed under arrest at the Morgan City Police Department for an active warrant she held for the 6th Ward City Court. Jones was booked and incarcerated.

Treylon J. Jenkins, 25 years of age, Address-Guither St. Patterson, La. was arrested on 11/22/2018 @ 12:29 pm.

Tarrike M. Phillips, 26 years of age, Address-Tiffany St. Patterson, La. was arrested on 11/22/2018 @ 12:29 pm.

Charge: Obstruction of Justice-Tampering with Evidence

   Officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a vehicle in the area of Federal Ave. and Terrebonne St. that matched the description in an investigation of an earlier complaint. A short pursuit ensued and the vehicle eventually stopped at the intersection of Brashear and Federal Ave. The driver, Treylon Jenkins began resisting officers but was later subdued. The passenger of the vehicle, Tarrike Phillips was observed placing suspected marijuana into his mouth. Both Jenkins and Phillips were placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.

Melonie Ruffin, 47 years of age, Address-Railroad Ave. Morgan City, La. was arrested 11/22/2018 @ 10:26 pm.

Charge: Domestic Abuse Battery

Ronald J. Barrow, 64 years of age, Address-Railroad Ave. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 11/22/2018 @ 10:26 pm.

Charge: Domestic Abuse Battery

      An officer patrolling the area of Railroad Ave. and Mount St. observed two individuals involved in a physical altercation. The officer was able to separate the two individuals identified as Melonie Ruffin and Ronald Barrow. Through the investigation, it was learned that Ruffin and Barrow are in a relationship together. Both Ruffin and Barrow were placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.

Gilbert Howard 11222018

Gilbert C. Howard, 48 years of age, Address-Youngs Rd. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 11/22/2018 @ 10:29 pm.

Charge: Aggravated Battery
              Warrant- Failure to Appear-Theft

     Officers responded to a residence on Railroad Ave. in regards to a disturbance.  Officers arrived and spoke with the victim. According to reports, the victim stated that he was struck in the head with an object by Gilbert Howard. After striking the victim, Howard fled the area. Officers did observe a large laceration on the forehead of the victim. An ambulance service was contacted to render medical assistance to the victim. A search of the area for Howard was conducted. Howard was located a short time later on Youngs Rd. and placed under arrest. Howard also held an active warrant for the 16th Judicial District Court. Howard was transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.

Walter S. Portello, 22 years of age, Address-Village Lane Morgan City, La. was arrested on 11/24/2018 @ 2:43 am.

   An officer observed a vehicle swerving in and out the lane of travel in the area of Brashear Ave and Seventh St. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver, Walter Portello was asked to provide a valid driver’s license. A computer check revealed that Portello’s license was suspended. Portello also appeared intoxicated. The Standardized Field Sobriety Test was performed by Portello in which he performed poorly. Portello was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department. Once at the department, Portello refused the chemical test for intoxication. A warrant was obtained for a blood sample to be withdrawn. Portello was transported to a medical facility for the retrieval of the sample. The results of the sample are pending. Portello was transported back to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.

Mikel R. Clark, 62 years of age, Address-Susan Court Morgan City, La. was arrested on 11/24/2018 @ 6:14 pm.

Charge: Driving Under Suspension
               Required Position and Method of Turning at Intersection

    Officers responded to a minor vehicle accident at the intersection of Seventh and Marguerite St. Reports indicate that the driver of one of the vehicles identified as Mikel Clark had crashed into a vehicle while making a left turn onto Seventh St. A computer check determined that Clark’s driver’s license was suspended. Clark was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.  

Sidney L. Wainwright, 22 years of age, Address-Third St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 11/24/2018 @ 6:45 pm.

Charge: Warrant-Failure to Pay Fines (2cts)

  Sidney Wainwright was transported from the Berwick Police Department to the Morgan City Police Department for active warrants she held for the 6th Ward City Court. Wainwright was booked and incarcerated.

Cameron H.  Jackson, 19 years of age, Address-Sun Rd. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 11/22/2018 @ 6:24 am.

Charge: Warrant- Possession of Marijuana 3rd Offense

   Cameron Jackson was placed under arrest at the Morgan City Police Department for an active warrant he held for the department. Jackson was booked and incarcerated.

Randy O. Paul, 39 years of age, Address-Verdun Lane Franklin, La. was arrested on 11/25/2018 @ 2:43 am.

Charge: Driving While Intoxicated 1st Offense
               Reckless Operation of a Vehicle
               Illuminating Devices Required
               Traffic Control Signals.

     An officer observed a vehicle with improper lighting in the area of LA Hwy 182 near David Dr. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver, Randy Paul asked to provide a valid driver’s license. Reports indicate that Paul appeared intoxicated and performed poorly on the Standardized Field Sobriety. Paul was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department. Once at the department, Paul refused the chemical test for intoxication. A warrant was obtained for a blood sample to be withdrawn from Paul. Paul was transported to a medical facility for the retrieval of the sample. The results of the sample are pending. Paul was transported back to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.

Jonathan J. Lindsey, 34 years of age, Address-N. Bayou Black Rd. Gibson, La. was arrested on 11/25/2018 @ 8:50 pm.

Jarvis Granger 11252018

Jarvis D. Granger, 32 years of age, Address-Joseph St. Morgan City, La. was arrested on 11/25/2018 @ 8:50 pm.

Charge: Possession of Synthetic Marijuana 1st Offense
               Possession of Sch I CDS – MDMA (Ecstasy)
               Battery on an Officer (2cts)

     An officer on LA Hwy 182 observed a vehicle swerving in and out the lane of travel. A traffic stop was conducted on the vehicle and the driver, Jonathan Lindsey was asked to provide a valid driver’s license. A warrant check revealed that Lindsey held active warrants for the 16th Judicial District Court and Thibodaux Police Department. The passenger in the vehicle, Jarvis Granger was asked to exit the vehicle but refused. Granger began resisting officers but was later subdued. Officers located suspected synthetic marijuana and pills identified as MDMA in Granger’s possession. Both Lindsey and Granger were placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking and incarceration.

Regina Sinitiere, 41 years of age, Ohio St. Morgan City, La was arrested on 11/20/2018 @ 4:35 am

Charges: Simple Burglary
                   Warrant- FTA for Franklin City Court

Officers were called to a Front St residence after someone saw another person inside a patio area of a residence.  Officer located the suspect identified as Regina Sinitiere.  Sinitiere was questioned as to why she was inside the patio of the residence and gave conflicting stories to the officers.  The officers located some property on Sinitiere who admitted that she had taken it from the residence.  Sinitiere was arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department, once their officer learned of an outstanding warrant from Franklin City Court.

An officer in the area of Terrebonne St. observed a vehicle commit a traffic violation and stopped the driver.  Upon speaking with the driver the officer could smell what he believed to be marijuana.  After speaking with the driver identified as Jerry Forbes the officer spoke with the passengers in the vehicle and search the vehicle.  The officer located suspected marijuana in the car and the officer also located marijuana on  Sparrow's person.  All of the subjects were arrested and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking.



Eric Howard, 20 years of age, Mount St. Morgan City, La was arrested on 11/20/2018 @ 5:35

Charges: Disturbing the Peace Fighting
                   Resisting an officer

Officers were called to the area of Sixth St. about a disturbance.  When officers arrived they were flagged down by someone who stated that a male subject was hitting a female.  Officers located the two subject both who began to run from officers.  Officers were able to locate Eric Howard who was involved in the fight and placed him under arrest.  Howard was transported to the Morgan City Police Department.  The female was not located and the investigation is ongoing.


Dan Mouzakis, 56 years of age, Pharr St. Berwick, La was arrested on 11/20/2018 @ 9:39 pm

Charges: Warrant-FTA City Court Morgan City for Probation Violation

Officers stopped a vehicle for a minor traffic violation, the driver identified as Mouzakis was found to have an outstanding warrant for City Court of Morgan City.  Mouzakis was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department.

Oistin Busse, 20 years of age, Watkins St., Berwick, La was arrested on 11/21/2018 @ 2:44 am

                   Possession of Marijuana 1st

Officers were investigating suspect drug use at a local motel.  Officer spoke with Busse during the investigation and gained consent to search his room.  Officers searching the room located suspected marijuana and drug paraphernalia.  Busse was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking.

Charges: Possession of Marijuana with the intent to Distribute
                  Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

An officer patrolling the area of Justa ST. saw a vehicle with a caved  windshield.  The officer conducted a traffic stop on Hwy 182 and spoke with the driver.  When the officer spoke with the driver he could smell an odor of marijuana.  During the investigation, the officer located suspected marijuana on Johnson who admitted that he does smoke marijuana.  Officers then spoke with the passenger Braxton Fontenot and located suspected marijuana on his person.  The marijuana located on Fontenot was packaged in individual bags.  During the search of the vehicle officers also located suspected drug paraphernalia.  Both Johnson and Fontenot were transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking.



Gordon Helman, 49 years of age, Chester Bowles Morgan City,La was arrested on 11/19/2018 @ 10:21 am.

Charges: Hit and Run
                   Criminal Damage to Property less than $1000.00

Helman was arrested after an investigation into a vehicle accident on November 16, 2018.   The accident on Second St. in Morgan City caused damage to a utility trailer and a utility pole.  When officers arrived on scene they were told that the driver had fled the scene.  Officers searched the area but could not locate the driver.

On November 19, 2018, Helman spoke with Detectives and admitted that he was driving the vehicle and fled the scene.  Helman was arrested at the Morgan City Police Department and booked.

Juan Manuel Zuniga, 42 years of age, Tatum, Tx was arrested on 11/19/2018 @ 10:00 pm

                    Driving on Divided Highways

An officer saw a vehicle which was traveling on Hwy 182 cross the center line several times.  The officer stopped the vehicle and spoke with the driver identified as Zuniga.  The officer could smell alcohol while speaking with Zuniga and performed a field sobriety test, which Zuniga did poorly on.  Zuniga was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department where he was given an Intoxilyzer test with the results of .08g%.  Zuniga was booked into the Morgan City Police Department Jail.

Sylvia Carrera, 28 years of age, Opelousas,La was arrested on 11/20/2018 @ 2:21 am

                   Possession of Scheduled I Marijuana 1st
                   Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

Officers at a local could smell the odor of Marijuana coming from a room.  The officers spoke with the occupants of the room and were given consent to search.  During the searching officer located suspected marijuana in the room along with suspected paraphernalia.  While speaking with Carrera the officers located 7 pills of suspected Adderall, which Carrera did not have a prescription for.  Carrera was placed under arrest and transported to the Morgan City Police Department for booking.
